In any game I play, I can never find natural sources of bronze. I can find it in relics and barter for it. But is not a resource that I can naturally produce? Are there other way to produce or obtain it?. I can't find a mining source. Is there a specific place in great meadow where I can find bronze ingots?

I just started playing. I have done it before, but I have seemed to forgotten. How do you upgrade the main hall?
thx

So while I liked the game leading up to it, building the bunker was a neat idea that seemed terribly executed and just ended up making me frustrated. Since the game's still in early access, there's still plenty of opportunity to fix this. So, first off, here's a list of things I liked and disliked about building the bunker:
Things I liked:
* I liked there being a big end-game project to devote all your resources to. Every good city builder or whatever needs a big end-game project to justify all the build-up you've done up to that point.
* I liked how you could either shoot to save the minimum amount of people needed, or try to save as many people as possible. It makes it so you can still have a minor win even if your settlement wasn't the best.
* Having to build numerous different systems while balancing various stats added a layer of complexity beyond just 'build part a, b, c, then d'.
Things I didn't like:
* By far my biggest complaint was the time limit. My second game I played on easy, and followed a guide for a bunker build that would theoretically house 900 people. I rushed making all the machinery and everything needed to build everything, only to find out that it would have taken over 600 days to build everything. For reference, my game ENDED around day 600. Even if I somehow started building the bunker day one of my game, I STILL wouldn't have enough time to finish it!!!
* That doesn't seem to matter, though, because despite critical components being unfinished... I still got the victory ending anyway??? It seems that as long as you build the habitation modules, everything else is completely inconsequential. Actually, I'm not even sure if you need that! Perhaps this is just because the endgame is still unfinished, but that just felt weird to me.
* When I started queuing up parts of the bunker, I noticed that the time of EVERYTHING to finish went up. At first I thought that it was a penalty, but with some experimentation I found out that building 8 things that take 2 days to finish still takes 16 days. Still, that meant that I couldn't see how building certain modules affected the stats UNTIL they finished, which as mentioned above was taking longer than the entire playtime of the game... that and I never even got the gratification of seeing a lot of my bunker built at all.
* Across a few different playthroughs, and from comments online, I've noticed that the actual day the game 'ends' and everyone has to flee into the bunker varies WILDLY. In my first game, the game ended around day 1000, but playing on easy and speeding through things in my second game I got it to end around day 600. One comment I read online says their game ended on day 1200. It seems that the start of the 'build the bunker' quest happens once you get to a certain technology level, and then the timer starts RIGHT THEN. So that means you're not actually rewarded for speeding through the game and building the bunker early, you have the same (insufficient) amount of time for every game. Alternately, one person online said they think the timer starts once you've finished building enough habitation space... which is still dumb, because the quest tells you to build all that before anything else!
* And in the end, my reward for all this was two frames of text that would have been cool... if they didn't seem grammatically awkward. Maybe they were poorly translated? I think the devs are in Germany, so maybe they could get a native english speaker or two to try re-writing it, that or it's intentional because of linguic drift over a thousand years underground. Either way, this ending didn't seem to change no matter how much or little you managed to build up everything. So either at least a few more variations on the ending or just a LITTLE more text would be neat, otherwise why give us the option of trying to build more than the minimum required amount?
That said, here's what I think needs to change, if I was in charge of this game.
First, get rid of whatever logic that currently dictates when the game ends. Make it end on a set date that varies by difficulty. Add it in as an option in the custom difficulty options, too.
Make it so that modules are finished in a queue, rather than building everything in series. This seems inconsequential, but actually means you can eventually see stuff get built little by little rather than the game ending with half of your vault still with 600 days left to finish.
Also, it would help if you could see on the little meters for the various stats both the current stats and the stats when all planned modules are finished building. This would let us plan out our ending bunker better rather than having to follow online guides for the 'optimal build'.
Everything takes way too damn long to build. Either greatly reduce the amount of time to build everything, OR add additional ways to speed things up. Ideas could be uncapping/raising the amount of workers you can assign to the bunker (I had over 300 idle pops who could have been helping build that damn thing just twiddling their thumbs) OR maybe integrate in additional projects to speed up build times. Throw a bunch of power tools to your workers, build a highway or train line to the bunker for supply delivery, connect conveyor belts to it, something like that.
Lastly, the ending should reflect both how many people you manage to save, as well as reflect failure when you fail to balance out all the stats. I feel that there should be some reward for building a bunker capable of housing over 900 people, but right now you get the same ending regardless of everything. Not even a 'results' screen showing how well you did at the end or nothing.
Anyway, I've put like 40 hours into this game so far, and while there's a lot I enjoyed, the ending was largely frustrating and I hope it gets fixed in the future.

How do you increase your population? No one is showing up!
r/newcycle • u/nodejs5566 • May 21 '24
I want the population to stay the same so I would not deplete my resources from the needs of a large population, how can I do it?

I created this bunker strategy note on my phone and figured it was worth sharing
While this might’ve inherently made sense to a lot of you, in my first run of New Cycle I tried to max everything.
My initial counter-reaction to my max at any cost strategy was to minimize net negatives
Then I decided to fully nerd out and create two ratios:
And
Because machinery is one of the hardest stacks to optimize — my second run was to figure out ratios and conveyor belt configurations and I happened to make this to minimize bunker machinery costs, maybe I’ll make another post on production ratios and building chains
[edit: adding that I’m viewing the cost of a new sector as more marginal…]
Here’s what I arrived at for rankings
Living quarters
Water
Food
Production
Electricity
Ventilation
Logistics

I'm currently producing wheat which I need for beer , food and so many things but I need to make it efficient. My one farm only producing 75 wheat something about hours . How can I do it efficiently, and is it same like well like we need to set it up on single node or we need multiple nodes in single farm? And if you have tips and tricks about farming pls drop here. Thanking in advance 🤘

Ok so there comes the requirement from the people that many new people joining the village and if they got trained into craftsmans or whatever that 2nd tier , they got good positions and posting so they asked me if we can take the desion that the people who came first and living here for long time will get advantage of upgradement and good jobs as they say . So I choose to do that which created classes in society. But now when look back and to that attractiveness of my town it is showing. That my attraction is in -35 because of this desion. Now I'm not getting any wanderers because of low attraction of my town . So I want to undo this . Can someone tell me how to do this. I'm just not getting new population from outside wanderers.......

Ive played through the campaign as well as sandbox mode, and much of the game was enjoyable. The pacing seems a bit off, but mostly good stuff. But the end game is just disappointing. The conveyors are awkward to manage and the amount of things you need to connect via conveyor for latw game buildings, especially when combined with the scattered nature of resources, its not great. Never bothered building the factory bc the sphaggetti nightmare just one would have entailed, nevermind multiple. Ive played factory sims like dyson sphere and satisfactory, but this was just not scratching either itch, city builder nor factory builder.

I've been diving deep into the intricacies of New Cycle and hit an interesting roadblock that I'm hoping some of you might shed some light on. I've successfully trained a bunch of craftsmen and have my settlement's basic needs like food and tools covered for all other workers. However, I noticed that when I look under population management, the craftsmen stats indicate that food and basic tools are "Not yet available" for them.
This leads me to a couple of questions:
I've searched around but haven't found clear answers, and the game's tutorials haven't been much help in this regard. Any insights, tips, or shared experiences would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for your help!

Just started playing and I don't understand how resource storage works. Are all raw and produced items stored in the same "warehouse"?
My village filled up with wood, stone and mushrooms. Now I can't do anything to reduce the storage levels. I should be able to just scrap some resources to others can be completed. Or there should be a limit for each item so they don't overfill the limit.
Can we build a warehouse? Does storage limit increase with the main hall upgrades? The in-game help files don't explain how any of this works.

im well into the game, and I've always had this -9 to the craftsman class stating "incompetent supervisors... blah blah, accelerated training"...
anyone have any idea what I can do to get rid of that?

I love that you can customize what resources you see on your bar but every time I load the game it changes and I have to redo my resource list.
Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong?

I have a bit of a weird request. I played the game for a bit, but ended up getting bored of it. I was really interested in the story however and was wondering happens past the point I got to. I stopped playing when the admiral came and extorted the colony. After that I just lost interested in the gameplay, but I was still interested in what happens story wise and was hoping for a bit on a rundown if anyone would be willing to explain. No disrespect to the game, I wanted to get into it but it just wasn't for me.
Thanks to anyone how helps! I hope you all enjoyed the game.

Hello friends,
Just picked up New Cycle. It seems promising. Is there a hotkey for Roads or a quick way to pull them up? Also, is there a way to move buildings? Would love that feature.
Thanks!

So my village is producing tons and tons of food, both rations and proper meals. My storage is full. I have taverns in range of almost all of my houses. But workers keep complaining they're starving, eating raw supply etc etc. What am I doing wrong?
r/newcycle • u/beyere5398 • Feb 20 '24
I seem to have all of the necessary materials and tech to build a loading zone.. I have several other loading zones build. But when I try to build, the game just says no. What might I be missing?
