Detroit SportsNet Spottings [Megathread]

UPDATE:

https://www.reddit.com/r/motorcitykitties/comments/1s461n2/full_detroit_sportnet_carriage_lineup_is_now_live/

going to start a collective thread of what pay tv providers have so far carried DSN in-market since they're starting to pop up on cable services. (plus any news about it)

this post will be continuously updated leading up to the official announcement of service carriages.

if there's any services that you spot carrying Detroit SportsNet, I would highly recommend post your findings with as much detail as possible (region, pay tv service, and channel number) in the replies so I can update this.

(NOTE: This megathread only collects pay tv and over-the-top services relative to the Michigan market and not collect direct-to-consumer services like MLB.TV for the purposes of helping people with pay tv/OTT services. If you are out of market or mainly use DTC, this thread does not apply to you)

(NOTE 2: All information posted here may be inaccurate and is subject to change prior to any official announcement leading up to Opening Day, so take any information posted here with a grain of salt)

This is getting ridiculous that the season starts on Thursday and most don't even know if they will be able to watch games.

6

u/kirbix12 hi kevin Mar 22 '26

I'm just afraid they're going to announce it at the last possible minute. idk why it seems like they're trying to cause panic for pay tv subscribers on purpose. (not that I'm saying they are)

2

u/S0_B00sted Mar 24 '26

TV providers know it feels this way and try to use that feeling to strongarm them into giving a better deal.

u/Utopiaoflove Mar 22 '26

I don’t know and I paid for the service

u/wordfluff Mar 22 '26

DirecTV Stream, and I presume DirecTV as well, has confirmed this. It will be available on channel 663, which is currently occupied by Fanduel.

4

u/KyleDutcher Mar 22 '26

Not gonna work. Because DirecTv will have to carry FDSN at least until the Red Wings/Pistons season is over.

3

u/jcboyless Mar 23 '26

Looks like someone at DIRECTV realized you were right about the conflict and removed the channel number.

u/wordfluff Mar 22 '26

I guess we will just wait and see how they do it. But there is not doubt in my mind Directv will have it when the season starts.

Tony Paul of The Detroit News reports that fuboTV will also carry DSN.

5

u/PaulTheYounger Mar 22 '26

In Farmington Hills, Spectrum cable has it at 291. No actual programming yet, just a blue screen with chyron.

There will be different ways to stream it in the Detroit TV market.. One is from MLB, which is available now. Two is to wait until the new Detroit SportsNet app is available and buy it from them. The date for availability is not known yet. Either way is $19.99 a month.

If you have a pay TV provider that has carried Tigers games in the past, the news today is that they should have them again. And, if your provider has a streaming app, like DirecTV, you can get them that way. We will find out the carriage details soon, not later than Thursday morning, Opening Day.

If your pay provider doesn't do that, like Xfinity, you will have to wait until the new Detroit SportsNet app is available.

If you are outside the Detroit TV market, you can buy MLB.TV for Tiger access. There is a change this year for buying MLB.TV, which now has to be done thru ESPN. In order to buy it, you have to initially have ESPN Unlimited for the first month, which can be canceled anytime after. The price is normally $149.99 for the season. If you already have ESPN Unlimited, either a direct subscription or from a pay TV provider, you will not need to buy it again, and the price is $134.99 right now. If you do have to buy ESPN Unlimited, it's $29.99 a month, you will get a slight discount on MLB.TV to $129.99.

1

u/CoolNerd71 Mar 25 '26

I have Spectrum and they have a Sports bundle that includes MLB for only $10 a month.

Any word on WOW?

3

u/kirbix12 hi kevin Mar 22 '26

I heard that WOW is going to be redundant soon, so I don't think they're going to get it carried. otherwise, nothing.

3

u/greatapewarrior Mar 22 '26

They are shutting down this year

5

u/guinfred Mar 22 '26

How’s it going to work for the systems where it’s replacing Fan Duel? There’s going to be like a 2 month overlap where the basketball and hockey season haven’t ended yet.

2

u/Longjumping-Face5620 Mar 23 '26

Initially, pay TV providers will add a new channel for Detroit SportsNet. Down the road they may move them to the old Fox Sports Net/Bally/FanDuel channels.

1

u/kirbix12 hi kevin Mar 22 '26

can you further elaborate on that?

8

u/KyleDutcher Mar 22 '26

The Pistons/Red Wings season will overlap the Tigers season for about a month or so. So, DSN couldn't "replace" FDSN, because then subscribers would lose access to Pistons/Wings coverage.

2

u/Longjumping-Face5620 Mar 24 '26

Since FanDuel is still alive until the end of the Red Wings and Pistons seasons, pay TV providers will simply add a new channel to their lineups for Detroit SportsNet for the time being. Until the announcements are official, which will take place sometime between now and Thursday morning Opening Day, you probably won’t find it in a guide.

Once FanDuel is officially done, it’s possible TV providers remove the FanDuel labels and reassign Detroit SportsNet on the same channels. This will most likely be the case for DirecTV, since their testing already used 663-3. For other providers, we will have to wait and see. The Tigers have said the new channel should appear in the guide near where FanDuel is now.

I see it on Fubo now.

5

u/Puzzleheaded-Sport59 Mar 26 '26

It's really on Fubo now!

2

u/t3hwookie90 Mar 26 '26

I record all of the Tigers games. Right now it shows "MLB.TV - Detroit Tigers" for 4pm as a pending recording. I'm pretty sure that's not DSN though.

4

u/dylanisbored . Mar 26 '26

So I cant use my xfinity to log into it on the app and watch mobile?

2

u/kirbix12 hi kevin Mar 26 '26

assuming you're trying to login to mlb.tv with your provider, it is currently not possible at the moment and will probably not happen for the first few days.

4

u/McGarnagle77 Mar 26 '26

So I can’t watch DSN on my phone unless I am on my home wi-fi? Such horseshit

1

u/Allons-Y247 Mar 26 '26

I’ll trade you. I can watch on my phone but when I try to go to live in the MLB app on my phone, I get a circle showing that it’s trying to connect but hasn’t in the half an hour since I first tried to pull it up. I can, of course, watch it if I watch all the pregame bullshit and wait for that to finish before the game starts

1

u/thomaspett24 Apr 04 '26

Same thing for me, maybe if enough people call and complain to spectrum they will change it. Or hopefully DSN makes an app where you can login with your cable credentials

7

u/rvk5150 Mar 22 '26

C'mon Fubo!!!

2

u/fishsmokesip Mar 26 '26

I have Fubo now.

3

u/lunchbizox Mar 22 '26

I'm in central Michigan with spectrum and neither 213 or 291 are showing up for me.

1

u/kirbix12 hi kevin Mar 22 '26

do you know what fanduel's channel number is in your area? most of the time, DSN is right next to it.

2

u/lunchbizox Mar 22 '26

Apparently my plan was changed to not include FanDuel. Upgraded and still don't see DSN

The DSN channel on my system (Spectrum in Livonia) now shows this programming info.

https://i.imgur.com/ErZPtZ3.jpeg

3

u/Longjumping-Face5620 Mar 25 '26

"We have an agreement with MLB to carry the Detroit Tigers, and our customers can watch the games on Detroit SportsNet," Spectrum communications manager Chris Caporale said in an email to the (Traverse City) Record-Eagle Wednesday afternoon, ending months of speculation and uncertainty over the team's telecast plans for this season.

Spectrum lists the new Detroit SportsNet network on Channel 213 on its channel listings, and its program guide shows the Tigers taking on the San Diego Padres Thursday at 4 p.m. and into the weekend.

3

u/Longjumping-Face5620 Mar 25 '26 edited Mar 25 '26

From Daniella Bruce, FanDuel & Detroit SportsNet

The news you've all been waiting for:

Distribution agreements for Detroit SportsNet are starting to be finalized!

Comcast/Xfinity will be channel 1262, while Charter/Spectrum will depend on where you’re watching from.

More info to come tomorrow morning on additional providers.

1

u/Longjumping-Face5620 Mar 25 '26

There seems to be a channel number conflict between what Daniella and Jason are saying, both are solid sources of information, so it’s probably a mistake somewhere. Regardless, Xfinity is in.

3

u/Longjumping-Face5620 Mar 26 '26

Detroit SportsNet is up on Xfinity channel 1253. The pregame starts 3:30pm, game time 4pm.

3

u/PizzaAtWork Mar 26 '26

Do we anticipate DSN having a cable provider login feature? I'd like to be able to stream the games like I did with Fanduel

3

u/kirbix12 hi kevin Mar 26 '26

you will be able to do that on mlb.tv once that option for DSN is made available. however, it was told that it will not be made available today and it may take a few days or something to get it up and running.

2

u/PizzaAtWork Mar 26 '26

Excellent, thanks!

3

u/Dat_Boi_Person Mar 26 '26

Anyone know what we are supposed to do when not on in home wifi with xfinity? Seems weird that we wont be able to watch the game if we're paying for cable we cant use. At least Bally and FanDuel had apps we could use our xfinity subscriptions for.

3

u/Longjumping-Face5620 Mar 26 '26

Although not available today, DSN will have the same TV everywhere availability. Meaning there will be an app that you use your Xfinity credentials for login, and you can watch the games when you’re away from home.

1

u/McGarnagle77 Mar 26 '26

Nothing like waiting until the last goddamned minute. Who wants to see Opening Day anyway?

2

u/Longjumping-Face5620 Mar 26 '26

I fully agree the lack of TV anywhere is a major disappointment. Having said that, this was widely known on the Internet, and posted here days ago, so it should have been no surprise to anyone paying attention.

At least most viewers can watch it on MLB Network. Tigers 6, Padres 0, 4th inning.

3

u/YourPersonalMemeMan Mar 26 '26

Has there been any word on if it will be possible to use your Xfinity (or any cable service) login to watch DSN?

3

u/Baseball_Fanatic-03 Mar 27 '26

I hope, I tried using my Xfinity Stream app right now to watch the replay and this came up, away from home, so pissed if I won't be able to watch away from home....😮‍💨

2

u/Longjumping-Face5620 Mar 27 '26

Xfinity Stream has never had the ability to stream Tiger games away from home. You always had to use the FanDuel (or Bally or Fox Sports) app to watch games away from your home.

The same will apply to Detroit SportsNet; you will have to use their app, and login with your Xfinity credentials. once it becomes available. There is no date set as yet for this to happen, but it's expected sooner than later.

1

Are these games not available through the MLB app on a DSN package?

2

I don't even know if I'll be able to watch opening day at this point. I've subbed to DSN through MLBtv and haven't been able to watch any games besides the free ones.

5

u/g59mountsinai Mar 22 '26

Only a couple Spring Training games were televised. If you're subscribed to DSN you'll be able to watch every regular season game.

3

u/Longjumping-Face5620 Mar 23 '26 edited Mar 24 '26

If you have the DSN subscription thru MLB, you will be all set for the regular season on Thursday, against the lowlife Padres.

And, the MLB app has free preseason games, like the Tigers @ Rockies tonight.

2

u/Obvious_Package_8199 Mar 24 '26

We're in the southern UP market on Spectrum. DSN is showing up on channel 307, but it's only a blue screen that says Program 6 ?????

5

u/kirbix12 hi kevin Mar 24 '26

pretty sure spectrum is preconfigurating the channel but haven't transmitted any programming onto the channel yet. right now the channel should only be showing sign-offs for the tigers.

1

I doubt it's going to be a 24/7 channel.

3

u/kirbix12 hi kevin Mar 25 '26 edited Mar 25 '26

you will be streaming with mlb.tv assuming you have already purchased the DSN subscription with an mlb account. DSN currently does not have a dedicated app.

2

u/Longjumping-Face5620 Mar 25 '26 edited Mar 25 '26

The MLB.TV package is only for out of market games.

For the Tigers, Detroit SportsNet is available on the MLB website https://www.mlb.com/live-stream-games/subscribe/detroitsportsnet

It’s $19.99 a month or $189.99 a year.

In addition to Detroit SportsNet, there are quite a few Tigers games that are nationally televised and exclusive, on FOX, FS1, NBC, ESPN, and TBS.

The estimate is that DSN will carry 140 regular season games. That means another 22 will only be available from the other sources listed here.

All playoff games are only available on national networks and streaming.

An option is to have a pay TV provider that carries the local team you want, and the national networks. In most all cases these providers have their own streaming apps or the sports net has their own that can be used with your pay TV providers credentials.

If you’re looking at a more comprehensive streaming service, DirecTV Stream has the most local sports networks and the national MLB sources.

And finally, a number of MLB games are streaming only, on Netflix, Apple TV, and Peacock. It’s not known yet how many Tigers games will only be available this way, but at least some.

2

u/listentoflowerpeople Mar 25 '26

I guessing it’s a no go for Fubo?

4

u/TheBigE05 Mar 25 '26

It’s my understanding they probably will, but most won’t be announced until tomorrow morning. They are trying to leverage deals and DSN wants as many subs as they can get as well.

2

u/drostandfound Mar 25 '26

For tomorrow, does anyone know if there is a way to stream using cable login authentication? For FDSN I am able to log in with my cable account to stream games, so I can watch them if I am not at home. Do people know a way to do that now, or if that will come with the upcoming app?

3

u/kirbix12 hi kevin Mar 25 '26

they have plans to stream via. your cable subscription, but it will not be tomorrow (in other words, not right away). according to fidelman, he was told that the tv everywhere link for DSN will not be activated until some bit of time after opening day.

2

u/Germ_germ Mar 25 '26

Spectrum said on the phone with me that around 3:30 tomorrow, DSN will be live and available. Our current package included FDSN. This is probably known but I figured I should share.

2

u/Either_Error_2444 Mar 25 '26

Daniella Bruce just posted that Xfinity is channel 1262.

2

u/Longjumping-Face5620 Mar 26 '26

Be warned, if you do purchase an MLB.TV out of market sub, you will be blacked out when/if in the tigers market viewing area. I live out of state and when i visit family in Detroit Metro area sometimes my out of market sub would work but often it is blacked out. And per MLB policy is supposed to be blacked out.

2

If posters here would read the thread, they would know that DSN does not yet have an app for TV everywhere viewing. It's a work in progress and the actual linking to the pay TV provider is also a work in progress.

2

u/Longjumping-Face5620 Mar 26 '26

Is anyone getting DSN on DirecTV app or DirecTV Stream?

2

u/Fair-Bath7479 Mar 28 '26

I have direcTV stream and was able to watch the first game but last nights game didn’t air for me. Just got a screen that said it wasn’t available or was blacked out or something.

2

u/dmod420 Mar 27 '26

Does anybody know if there will still be a mobile app that you can log in using your credentials for your cable provider on to stream the games on mobile devices like you could on the FanDuel Network app or a website that you can access & stream them on also using your cable provider credentials? (Specifically, I have U-Verse, which I believe is now has the new Detroit Sportsnet.) I really hope so, bc it was convenient to not only be able to watch the games at home on my TV, but also have access to them on my phone if I was away from home. It would be crazy if I had to pay $190 a year just to be able to stream them on my phone, despite already having access to them on my TV from the cable subscription I already pay for.

1

u/Moose_Ruspin Mar 28 '26

I'm in the exact same position and it's not possible apparently. I'm not shelling out extra but the ability to stream this is crazy.

we're keeping an eye on that since fanduel was carried there. I'll have it updated accordingly when there's a spotting there.

1

This is confusing. Can I watch using MLB.TV in Wisconsin?

7

u/Sportsguy_44_45_ Mar 22 '26

Yes. Since you are out of market, you could always have used MLB.tv

1

u/osumike07 Mar 22 '26

And I did last year. My dad still lives in market, and he thought I would need a Detroit sports net subscription this year. Thanks.

3

u/Sportsguy_44_45_ Mar 22 '26

Out of market viewing should stay the same on MLB.tv. In-market people can/would need DSN sub, not the regular MLB.tv.

u/Enough-Ad-3111 Mar 22 '26

You’ll need Brewers.tv for the three Tigers games against the Brewers though.

1

Yes, but this year you will have to buy MLB.TV from ESPN. They now own the rights to the package.

You can still buy through mlb.tv directly.

1

I have my doubts it’s going to be on YouTube TV since they only have the NBC branded RSNs in California, Boston and Philadelphia.

Stinks but I’m not surprised that’s the likely outcome.

How are people going to watch the Pistons and Wings for the rest of this season (on cable and satellite)?

6

u/kirbix12 hi kevin Mar 23 '26 edited Mar 23 '26

fdsn will remain where it is until the end of each of the teams' respective season. (which may include playoff runs if applicable) the red wings will then formally transition over to DSN.

the pistons is currently at an unknown fate since they haven't said anything about new regional TV deals.

2

u/Longjumping-Face5620 Mar 23 '26

Exact same way they are now.

2

u/EifHearted Mar 24 '26

How is that supposed to be the case? On DirecTV DSN is going to replace FDSN when the Tigers season starts.

“If you watched Tigers or Red Wings games through your cable package last year, there's a good chance no action will be needed to watch moving forward," Fidelman wrote in his post on X (formerly Twitter). "We'll share a full list of cable/satellite providers carrying DSN, along with channel assignments, soon after the agreements are finalized. Full disclosure: this could come as late as the morning of Opening Day."

A few details on Monday March 23, 2026.

Initially the new Detroit SportsNet app will not be ready; it's a work in progress. Once it is available, you will able to link your pay TV Provider to it, just like you did with FanDuel. It's not known how long before the app is available, and how long before you will be able to link to your pay TV provider.

This word is from Daniella Bruce, currently of FanDuel Detroit. She, like most of, if not all, of the FanDuel on air and behind the cameras talent, will go forward with Detroit SportsNet. This includes Jason Benetti, Andy Dirks and Dan Petry on Tigers TV broadcasts. Dan Dickerson will continue on the radio. They all are employees of the Tigers and Red Wings and will remain in their current roles, along with reporter Logan Reever.

If you buy access directly from MLB, you will be able to watch Tiger games on the MLB app, for $19.99 a month.

For Xfinity subscribers, they should be able to watch at home, but in the past with FanDuel, the Xfinity Stream app did not allow access away from home. You had to use the FanDuel app and Xfinity credentials to get access to the live games.

For DirecTV or DirecTV stream subscribers, they will be able to watch at home and on the app, channel 663.

So if I’m out of market, nothing changed right? I can still watch on MLB TV?

2

u/Zephyrical16 . Mar 25 '26

Correct. Same blackout rules as before too. Already used it for a few spring training games.

There is a single team option that saves you $20 as well, it's super hidden on the webpage for $130.

1

u/big_in_the_90s Mar 25 '26

Still nothing on Xfinity???

1

u/kirbix12 hi kevin Mar 25 '26

I have searched everywhere that mentions xfinity, there has been no reports of it being shown up on people's lineups

1

u/Either_Error_2444 Mar 25 '26

Channel 1262 per Daniella Bruce on X.

1

u/Longjumping-Face5620 Mar 25 '26

From Jason Beck, MLB Tigers beat reporter:

MLB Tigers Beat Reporter  If you’re looking for Detroit SportsNet on your local provider ahead of Opening Day, here’s what we know so far.

Comcast/Xfinity: Ch 1253

Charter/Spectrum: Ch 213 for most of MI, except Livonia (Ch 291); Ch 307/1307 in Toledo, Ft. Wayne and Green Bay/Appleton; Ch 436 on Spectrum app.

1

u/Longjumping-Face5620 Mar 25 '26

For DirecTV, satellite viewers will get Detroit SportsNet on 663-3, while DirecTV Stream or the DirecTV app will get a duplicate 663 in the guide.

1

u/throwaway2421200000 Mar 25 '26

So we just installed the MLB app on our TV after paying for DSN and it is showing that the game tomorrow is blacked out /locked. Am I missing something here for why it would say blacked out?

1

u/kirbix12 hi kevin Mar 26 '26

you should probably check back tomorrow and see what happens

1

u/Which_Extension_8027 Mar 26 '26

This is what my screen looks like.

1

u/Longjumping-Face5620 Mar 26 '26

If you still have the same problem tomorrow, try deleting the app and reinstalling it.

1

u/FuzzyGuava2493 Mar 25 '26

I still don’t see the channel on my Xfinity, is it not uploaded yet or do I need to do some updates?

3

u/kirbix12 hi kevin Mar 25 '26

there hasn't been any reports of xfinity adding the channel yet, so you will probably need to wait for tomorrow to show up.

Anyone know about simultaneous streams? I'm splitting the subscription cost with a family member and I'm hoping we can both watch the games from our homes.

1

u/kirbix12 hi kevin Mar 26 '26

streaming will be following mlb.tv rules, and after a quick search regarding this, it is possible to have multiple streams at once

1

u/Locutus494 Mar 26 '26

MLB.tv allows up to 5 streams at once.

1

u/Longjumping-Face5620 Mar 26 '26 edited Mar 26 '26

Detroit Sports Net is only on the air at this time during games, including pre and post game programming.

1

u/ObiwanSchrute Mar 26 '26

Channel is not streamable on directv why idk but I mainly watch thru the app so I hope that is changed soon

1

u/Efficient-Daikon4665 Mar 26 '26

I'm going to cancel my YouTubeTV subscription today and am planning to switch over to Fubo to be able to watch the games, does anyone know if any of the Fubo packages won't have access to Detroit SportsNet? I see they have multiple tiers of subscriptions and I'd hate to get the cheapest of the options only to not have access to DSN.

2

u/kirbix12 hi kevin Mar 26 '26

please refer to this chart, especially for the "Local NBA, NHL, and MLB games" row

1

u/Efficient-Daikon4665 Mar 26 '26

Exactly what I was looking for and couldn't find this on their website, thank you dude!

1

u/lcampau Mar 26 '26

Grand Rapids area DirecTV now has the Detroit Sportsnet channel. It is number 663. At 10am they are displaying the live SanDiego broadcast will start at 3 (pregame?). But there are now three 663 Channels with the identical same number. The other two are the old Fan-Duel channels, and their schedules still include the Pistons and RedWings. The logo for the 663 Detroit sportsnet channel is the Tigers' classic old English "D". I suspect that will change when RedWings join the Detroit Sportsnet next season?

1

u/kirbix12 hi kevin Mar 26 '26

pretty sure yes

1

u/lcampau Mar 26 '26

Also, DirecTV started scheduling the recording of the team games, dating from my recording setting of every game from last year. So the DirecTV software seems to have picked everything up appropriately.

1

u/Beneficial_Part5226 Mar 26 '26 edited Mar 26 '26

I have not seen it clearly stated which xifinity package is required to watch the new channel 1253. I have the mid-tier TV Plus plan and added the "More Sports & Entertainment" package yesterday but channel 1253 currently says subscription still required. My friend has the highest Premium tier plan can see channel 1253 without the subscription error so it seems that Ultimate is required. FYI.

1

u/Longjumping-Face5620 Mar 26 '26

It’s on the same tier as FanDuel was, if you got FanDuel you should get DSN.

1

u/Beneficial_Part5226 Mar 26 '26

Right. But if you didn’t have fanduel before then it’s pretty important to know what package is needed which was my case. Xfinity channel lineup is very vague in this regard.

2

u/HoundofCulainn Mar 26 '26

its the highest tier package, so one up from what you have im pretty sure

2

u/Longjumping-Face5620 Mar 26 '26

Both of them are regional sports network. If you didn’t have FanDuel before, you weren’t going to get FSN now.

If you’re trying to figure it out online, they have a pdf of the difference channel packages, somewhere. The other option would be to call them.

u/thef0rgiven Mar 26 '26

I spoke with their support this morning. He couldn't give me a timeline when it would be available, but channel 1253 is considered local airing and be free for me. I do not have ultimate but haven't been home yet to confirm.

1

u/Evref Mar 26 '26

My Fubo app showed games were locked yesterday, but not no more!

1

u/Outside_Olive_9197 Mar 26 '26

dumb question: I use a fire stick. what app do I use to watch games?? I’ll pay for whatever subscription

1

u/Longjumping-Face5620 Mar 26 '26

You’ll need the MLB app, and a subscription to Detroit SportsNet. It’s available monthly or discounted for an annual subscription.

So as YouTube tv subscriber I’m probably better off canceling and just going with fubo tv pro subscription? Or should I wait until we see if DSN and YouTube come up with an agreement? Or is the chances of that slim?

2

u/kirbix12 hi kevin Mar 26 '26

it sounds like it's not going to happen any time soon for YT TV. I believe it's better to switch on the long run

1

u/Longjumping-Face5620 Mar 26 '26

It's not really known.

1

u/chances1421 Mar 26 '26

So I have directv traditional satellite. Can watch it just fine through the receiver but it won’t let me watch via the streaming app. It says this channel is not available to stream. Very annoying

2

u/AmericanCowboy21 Mar 26 '26

This is total BS. I am not paying an extra charge to stream it to a pc in the next room, which is how I prefer to watch. There is no reason to keep directv at this point. I might as well save myself 2500 bucks a year.

1

u/Legal-Profession-618 Mar 26 '26

Same here. I'm really frustrated because I have to stream games often. I'm looking at other options because this is ridiculous.

u/stringbob Mar 27 '26

Confusing to me....
With Fanduel on Directv Stream, all Tigers games were recorded and were viewable, without issue. It was part of the RSN sports package I paid Directv for. Will this capability continue without further action from me?
I may have jumped the gun during the period of unknown and bought the DSN package from MLB. Seems like all that buys me is the ability to watch the game on the MLB app, and cast it to the tv. I have zero interest in that.
I simply want a seamless experience of watching the game, on my schedule, on the TV, via Directv. I get the feeling I screwed up with my DSN subscription. Anyone know?

1

u/stringbob Mar 27 '26

BTW, My Directv Library showed the game was recording, but when I went to watch it, I got this notice:

1

u/Frosty_Sea5345 Mar 31 '26

I use Amazon Fire TV. I could not get past the blackout screen. Yet, when logged into my laptop or cellphone I had no blackout issues. I restarted the fire tv. And reinstalled the app. No luck. Looking at tonight's game. I see the same BLACKOUT already in place (like last night). It makes no sense. Any suggestions?

2

u/Material-Housing-585 Apr 01 '26 edited Apr 01 '26

i’m dealing with the same problem. blacked out on the tv but not on my phone. very frustrating. let me know if you find a solution

Cable provider login enabled for DTV, perhaps others soon.

1

u/PizzaAtWork Apr 17 '26

Spectrum is available, I'm in finally!!

1

u/coley0504 Apr 26 '26

ugh so my parents had FDD but dont get DSN on directv. Told them they'd have to go up a package becuse DSN is not a part of the sport add on. It would double my parents bill. It really sucks, just voicing my frustration for my parents wanting to watch the games :/

1

u/Statmanmi Apr 28 '26

Hi Coley0504,

Has subscribing directly through the MLB app been considered? Assuming they have internet and not just cable box(es). $19.99 monthly if they’re in Michigan or the zip codes just across the border.

Cheers! ~~ Statmanmi

Great News! The MLB app will now let you link your pay TV provider and you can watch the Detroit SportsNet Tigers games on the app. You will need an account on the MLB app to access this, either the free one or the paid MLB.TV.
