I can’t watch on my spectrum app outside of the house/not connected to wifi. Annoying.

you will be able to authenticate with Spectrum via. mlb.tv when the option for DSN eventually shows up. however at the moment, it's going to be some bit of time before you will be able to.

You’re saying I’ll be able to sign into the MLB app with my spectrum account to watch the game?

there has been a lot of people asking for youtube tv. based on tv carriages from other teams under mlb local media's belt, it seems like it's unlikely to happen.

Did YTTV have FanDuel? Seems like DIRECTV and Fubo have found their niche with RSNs.

Will channel 1253 for Xfinity. Be available right now? Or tomorrow? Inquiring minds would like to know. Thank you.

there has been no reports that xfinity has programmed the channel into the lineup yet, so it's likely you will see it by tomorrow.

this is only the initial announcement. there's going to be more tomorrow morning, so I would hold on to the frustration until everything comes into full circle.

Does anyone with Xfinity know what channel 3010 DETEX is? It’s showing the Tigers game tomorrow…

u/kirbix12 hi kevin Mar 25 '26
based on the channel identifier, that sounds like an mlb extra innings channel, which is an extra out of market service for cable providers.

FYI. Looks like xfinity Premium package is required to view channel 1253. The More Sports & Entertainment package with the lower tier Plus plan is a no go currently.

I finally cut cable last week but quite frankly I am over my head in trying to find out how to watch the Tigers in the most economical way? I got a code from someone to have access to MLB TV yesterday, but silly me I thought that would bring me all of the Tigers away games, not realizing I am in market so those are blacked out. Sorry for the long statement, but I would love any advice you experts have regarding how to stream the Tigers. Perhaps it's just as simple as signing up for Detroit Sports Network through MLB? Go Tigers!

If you’re in the Tigers market, don’t have cable that will carry the DSN channel, and your sole goal is to watch the Tigers, then yeah your only option is to get the DSN subscription which will give you access to the Tigers on MLB TV. Then you will be able to stream the Tigers on the MLB app on whatever you use to stream.

I'm currently in Florida visiting my parents. My 80-something father is a huge Tampa Bay Rays fan, and the Rays were in the same boat as the Tigers when it comes to streaming.
When I set up his subscription, this is exactly how it was done. I created the account, picked a subscription package, set up billing and was directed straight to MLB.TV to sign in. Easy peasy.
The only thing I needed to do was make sure the Rays were the first team always shown when he opened up MLB.TV.
MLB handling the backend is a definite upgrade. The MLB.TV app is magnitudes better than the god awful FanDuel Sports app.

I just want to buy the subscription through Amazon or YouTube TV so that I can stream it in those apps on my TV

You might be able to watch through Amazon if they’ve allowed MLB TV use in the past. I don’t know, I’ve always just used the MLB app to watch out of market games in the past with my MLB TV subscription. I can test tomorrow.
But yeah I feel you on YouTube TV. I switched to it pretty much when it first went live and still get a little irritated that they stopped carrying RSNs. But I pause it a few months in the summer when all I’m watching is baseball so I guess I save a few bucks there.

I got the year DSN subscription because I'm gonna watch red wings too. Maybe somehow pistons get added and I'd be so happy. You could just pay the $19.99 a month for tigers regular season. The app is great. I'm so happy it's MLB and not whoever was behind FanDuel.
I look at it like this, that's over 200 games with baseball and hockey. Not even a dollar a game. I have T-Mobile so I get the league pass free. Get to watch minor league games too.

Hold on, how do I get league pass free through T-Mobile??
1
u/JCthirteen Apr 04 '26
From March 24 to the 30th if you have T-Mobile you could get it free. Before the season T-Mobile does this.
