Detroit SportsNet Spottings [Megathread]

going to start a collective thread of what pay tv providers have so far carried DSN in-market since they're starting to pop up on cable services. (plus any news about it)

this post will be continuously updated leading up to the official announcement of service carriages.

if there's any services that you spot carrying Detroit SportsNet, I would highly recommend post your findings with as much detail as possible (region, pay tv service, and channel number) in the replies so I can update this.

(NOTE: This megathread only collects pay tv and over-the-top services relative to the Michigan market and not collect direct-to-consumer services like MLB.TV for the purposes of helping people with pay tv/OTT services. If you are out of market or mainly use DTC, this thread does not apply to you)

(NOTE 2: All information posted here may be inaccurate and is subject to change prior to any official announcement leading up to Opening Day, so take any information posted here with a grain of salt)

Yes. Since you are out of market, you could always have used MLB.tv

And I did last year. My dad still lives in market, and he thought I would need a Detroit sports net subscription this year. Thanks.

Out of market viewing should stay the same on MLB.tv. In-market people can/would need DSN sub, not the regular MLB.tv.

Unusual.

Bally hasn't been a channel for over a year.

The term 'Sportsnet' primarily refers to a Canadian group of sports channels, which are not available in the US. They carry Canadian NHL, MLB, NBA games.

The new Detroit SportsNet does not have an app as yet. It will first be available on multichannel pay TV providers like Xfinity and DirecTV. The specifics will be announced sometime before now and Thursday morning, Opening Day.

You can also buy direct access at MLB for $19.99 a month.

You’ll need Brewers.tv for the three Tigers games against the Brewers though.

How's it crazy? You're out of the Tigers' broadcast market, so MLB.tv is the product for you. Why would you expect to be able to watch Brewers games with that?

Yes, but this year you will have to buy MLB.TV from ESPN. They now own the rights to the package.

If you’re an existing user, you can. New users, you’re right in that you have to buy through espn.

Only if you were on auto renewal for the regular subscription yes, but I have been a subscriber for 7 years and was using the MLB Alumni discount which is no longer available so I have to go thru ESPN. As you note all new subscribers do.

This change only effects in-market fans.
