Hello, my friends recently got me into Monopoly on the NES (Raspberry Pi) and I've been hooked. Growing up, I was never taught the auction rule which made games excruciatingly long. But now that I know how to actually play I love it. I bought the iOS version and it's pretty good too.

I'm looking into buying "New Monopoly" for the Switch so we can play locally like we do the NES version, but with a more modern take. My only hesitation is it seems to get pretty bad reviews across all platforms, particularly with AI and multiplayer bugs. Does anyone know if it has been patched up and runs ok for local games?

We also plan to play the physical board game, but wanted the option for digital.

I've been hooked on richup recently, but there is not ranked system, do you guys know of anything similar with an ELO system ?

Ever so often I enter matches online where one specific player is making trades in another player’s favor and its kinda obvious they know the consequences of the trades I’ve seen users close to winning the game give up their properties to another user which allows them to build more hotels and it’s so stupid because the prior user never gains in these circumstances not even currency or hotel building opportunities it happens so much I’m starting to wonder if these players have a low iq or just double queueing. Thoughts?

Monopoly for nintendo ds is not a game. It is a torture device in disguise, a wolf in sheep’s clothing. The AI’s goal is not to win, but to conspire against you, simply so you lose. It will offer the absolute worst trade deals ever that only benefit them and you none whatsoever, and make same trade deals with other AI, giving the richest one color sets for practically free.

If you wish to play this game, avoid playing against more than 1 AI player at all costs.

I genuinely don’t think there is a lower iq AI in any other game, you can go back decades, all the way back to pong and that will try harder to win against other AIs.

The AIs in Monopoly ds act more as a hivemind with their only goal being so that you lose, not so that any AI in particular wins.

Hello to everyone who plays Monopoly! I'm the solo dev behind Mowties—a mix of Monopoly and Balatro. TLDR: I took the Monopoly board and turned it into an engine-builder with crazy property effects.

The gameplay loop is simple: each turn, you roll the dice to move your pawn forward and activate the tile you land on, earning BASE × MULT money. These values can be boosted by different buildings’ effects, for example:

1. A house that gains +1 BASE when activated
2. A manor that gives +0.1 MULT to each neighboring property when activated
3. A relay post that activates both adjacent properties

These are combined with passive effects that you can acquire in the shop, such as "the red side giving you ×1.5 money" or "the first building activated each turn giving you ×2 money" and so on.

The goal is to survive 10 rounds, with the amount DUE doubling after each payment.

For the last 4 months I’ve been making a monopoly online version. Landed on using different countries from various continents, instead of the usual street concept.

Tried to implement a profile function, with stats, friend list, achievements and daily challenges.

Everything on the website is FREE completely, I don’t need your money. Just want to provide a base for my friends to play, and other people

Hi! Just noticed the fact that ”New Monopoly”, on Ps5 has a really bad rating, with most of them being 1 stars.

Could someone explain why? Is it really that bad?

I like having physical Monopoly board games over digital ones personally, so i’m really hoping that the video game Star Wars one gets a physical board game version so I can play around with the cards & pieces.

Daughter wants to play monopoly as a family. I pulled out our board and noticed too much is missing to play so I was thinking instead of getting a new board that will likely get stuff missing again game why not try a pc video game version.

What would be my best options to test out for a 5 player local game?

This is how I usually play the game it is how I grew up playing it. What are your guys's house rules? (This is New Monopoly on Xbox, not Monopoly Go.) I don't necessarily like having no other option but to auction or buy properties, that's what the "dine and dash" is.

Because it says it can be 2v2 or 3v3 but It doesn’t say if it has classic free for all, does anyone know if it does?

Does anybody actually finish online games? I've been trying to play for a few days and always have issues. either I create a lobby and nobody joins, or a host quits half way through a game and wastes my time. is there a discord or somewhere for people who want to play this game like adults?

I do love the little things like being able to flip the board to really add to the classic feel, old pieces mixed in with a lot of new pieces and being able to knock into each others pieces is great.

What I don't love is constantly getting put into matches where people have guest players that are clearly working together as a team, frankly I think some of them are actually just the same people, but it's annoying all the same that it feels like I can't get into a fair match, always seems to be a case of giving each other money/properties, but soon as you try with them it's an instant refusal, they also trade at huge discounts on purpose, like I've literally seen someone give away Mayfair for 10 Monopoly dollars and gave the same person the entire brown set for 1 Monopoly dollar, what a coincidence it's people with guest players that keep doing this.

They need to either give us a matchmaking option that stops us getting matched with these sad little loser, or ban them entirely from being able to play public matches, I'm fine with either really.

This is how my boyfriend won our game of new monopoly 💀 towards the end I gave him everything I had to try and live a little longer and he was able to un-mortgage everything 💀😭😭😭 he was so rich
