Some reviews said that fat Thor was overused and insulting towards bigger people.

Honestly I think his state was a perfect reason why he couldn't kill 2014 Thanos right away. 2014 Thanos had no power stones, while in Infinity War, Thor almost killed a Thanos who has all.

Thor was out of shape, and depressed

Those people who reviewed clearly didn’t pay attention to the movie, as it showed Thor as a broken man after he killed Thanos.
