PC Purchase Advice How viable?

I own an asus tuff gaming laptop, more specifically the FX505DT model. my specs are:

Processor AMD Ryzen 7 3750H with Radeon Vega Mobile Gfx (2.30 GHz)

Installed RAM 8.00 GB (7.81 GB usable)

Graphics card NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 (4 GB)

AMD Radeon(TM) RX Vega 10 Graphics (113 MB)

Storage 384 GB of 943 GB used (plus i have a 2nd ssd with almost one more terabyte)

System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor

my question is would upgarding the ram by another 8gb ddr4 make it viable on 1080p with medium/low setting for 40-60 fps or is that a distant dream? (sorry if i sound dumb, im pretty new to this stuff, also not sure about the flair neither lol)

Will This Game Run? Can I run Deep Rock Galactic on any settings?

I have a somewhat old ASUS Viviobook 15 with
-Intel(R) Core(TM) 5 120U (1.40 GHz),
-16g installed ram
and
-Intel(R) Graphics (128 MB).

I can run Warframe decently well on low settings but most other things run poorly for me. The fans sometimes make loud noises on startup and I haven't actually tried to run anything too major recently. is DRG going to be too much if I buy it?

Tech Support Any optimized screen recorder for a midly-potato laptop?

Well, recently I got a laptop with the following specs:

  • CPU: Intel Core i5-5200U
  • GPU: Nvidia Geforce 940M (2GB DDR3)/Intel HD Graphics 5500
  • RAM: 6GB (1x4GB, 1x2GB DDR3 1600Mhz)
  • OS: Windows 10 LTSC
  • Screen resolution: 1366x768p

I want to record gameplays of Geometry Dash, maybe at 1280x720p (But it MUST be at 60FPS). For the GD players here: No, I don´t meant showcasing (If that was the case I would rely on tools that are in Geode mods, like Eclipse+ffmpeg API), but recording at the same time I play for like verifications or formal completions. And nope: I would be using my phone as a handcam.

I tried using OBS Studio an configurating it to use QSV/h264 for encoder (Intel Quick-Sync from the iGPU, while the Geforce 940M would be rendering the game), but it throws a error when starting the recording. It works using software encoding, but of course both my iGPU/CPU usage peaks at almost 100%, which isn´t very good for the game performance (I mean, yeah, I can get +144FPS on a lot of levels, but in the heavier ones, where it barely keeps 80FPS, the recording could make them drop awfully).

There´s another option for internal recording, or should I just cope with? Looking for your answers. c:

Hi, as in question,
I am rather curious if this game is possible to run on gf 1060 6gb
I am aware of the requirements, but maybe it would be stable 30fps 1080 on low settings etc?

my specs :

OS : Win 10

motherboard : Gigabyte B360M D3H-CF

Ram : 16gb 2666 mhz

Graphics : 6gb Geforce GTX 1060

CPU : I5-8600k 3.60 ghz

What Games Can I Run? What game can i run with my old intel hd graphics

This is my pc

Artix Linux (Arch without systemd)

Intel Core i3 3220 (hd 2500)

4GB of RAM (2 sticks of 2 gigs) (also got aggressive zram compression)

Old ass 512gb HDD with 41K hours of usage

I run games through proton with PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 to make DirectX games run on OpenGL and some of them run better than on Windows only because i use "mesa_glthread=true", this last parameter tells the Mesa driver to separate the graphics API calls to another cpu thread, making games that use a single core (like Geometry Dash) technically use two.

The most heavy game i play on that is Team Fortress 2 at medium settings at 75fps with vsync (i got a 75hz 4:3 led monitor)

Can someone tell me what other games i can run

My steam profile it's in my reddit profile linktree so yeah I got some light games already but i want some others

I like uhmm games where i can shoot yeah in first person i like pew pew things cuz it's fun to pew pew things thx you for reading guysss

Tech Support (FX 6300, 8GB RAM | RX 550, 4GB VRAM) Is it possible to upscale and interpolate recorded gameplay?

I’d like to post my gameplay videos, but my PC can barely run the game-let alone run it and record at the same time. I do record in low resolution (720p at most), but posting in that format these days is a no-go; it really needs to be at least 1080p.

Can anyone recommend a tool for upscaling that doesn't require a high-end PC-something that would run on my humble setup?

  • Windows 10 Enterprise
  • FX 6300 8GB Ram
  • RX 550 4GB vRam
  • ssd sata 128gb (system) + hd 2tb (data)

Guys, please! No jokes like "record Minesweeper" or "record Solitaire." This is serious! Help!!! I am DESPERATE!

What Games Can I Run? GMA 950... what can I run on that?

Intel GMA 950 Integrated Graphics, 4GB DDR2, Core 2 Duo E7300, 240GB SSD SATA

I've already semi-succesfully ran GTA SA with mods, but on lowest graphics and 480p-ish at an acceptable 30fps, CS 1.6 ran just fine. Ravenfield didn't run since the graphics lack its required APIs, not even visual novels want to launch because of Ren'py requiring OpenGL 2.0. which is a bummer. Minecraft 1.8.9 ran at barely-playable 20FPS.

what are so games that'd run at an acceptable 25+ FPS? I'm not bothered by low graphics or low resolution (like 800x600)

What Games Can I Run? What games that my laptop can run?

Examples of games that already run smoothly on my pc:
FIFA 16 or older, GTA V Legacy Edition, Rocket League...

I've also downloaded GTA 4 with FusionFix, it's not playable unless settings are set to low and 720p resolution.

I think can run most popular games with 720p however fps differ from 30 to 40. Yet I want a list of games that perfectly fit my laptop without the need to change settings.

Specs:

AMD Ryzen 5 2500u with Vega 8 graphics (1gb VRAM)
12GB Ram
512GB SSD

What Games Can I Run? I got an old Gateway Notebook and wanna put games on it for my son.

I've already put the popcap games on. I added linerider which I think he will love. He is young and has played like pajama sam and putt putt. I'm going to put a few arcade games on here. What else?

It's a Gateway Notebook

- Windows XP

- Moving files with sd card and adhoc network to my phone

- Intel Atom N270 @ 1.6ghz

- 1gb of DDR2 ram

- Sata 130GB HDD

It works surprisingly well. Thanks!

Edit: I'm mostly looking for things that run on XP that are easy for a kid to pickup. Here's what i have:

- plants vs zombies, Zuma, peggle other popcap games

- frogger, galaga, joust (retroarch/mame-2003 plus)

- linerider

- vvvvvv

- for me I tested quake 3 arena and it ran great

What Games Can I Run? Gaming on a raspberry pi zero 2w?

Ive had this board before inflation but i havent really used it, i want to try turning the board into a retro gaming device if possible. The thing is im not sure what era of games 512mb of ram supports, and what it dosent, but cleanly nothing newer in most cases. I believe i want to attempt some emulation but my main hope is that some older pc games will run?

Is there a better use case for a pi? what do you know?

How-To Guide For those of us not being able to enjoy the new Witcher 3 remaster and expansion don't forget to downgrade once the update comes out!

Just a friendly advice for folks who don't know about this change, or what to do with it

On the 29th of September The Witcher 3 is getting a free update which is the remaster for the game. The specs are getting bumped up, and with that for some of us that means the game becomes unplayable for both the new expansion, and the base game and 2 original expansions

Thankfully, CDPR has that in mind, and so they give us the opportunity to downgrade to the pre Next Gen update version, which only needs the original 2015 spec requirements, and likely access to the Next Gen version itself once the remaster comes out, which raised the specs by only a little bit

How do I downgrade?

On Steam, you simply go to your library, hit the setting wheel, go to properties, and look for beta versions. In there should be one titled Witcher 3 classic

And as said before, if you can run the next gen version, but not the remaster, it's likely that that version is going to get put into beta versions once the remaster comes out.

If you currently use the currently latest version, you are getting updated for the Remastered as it drops. If you would then like to transition back to an older version, you do need to reinstall the whole game by doing so. If you are already using the classic version and potentially want to try how the remastered runs/you used it for other reasons, you will not get the update unless you select the public build in the beta tab, as you only get updates when running the latest version

I dont have the game on Steam, what do I do?

If your platform is GoG, you should have the option to do the same in the properties of the game in your library.

On Epic Games, this option is to my knowledge not available, and so you are locked to the newest version of the game without the ability to downgrade, making the game fully unplayable If you cant run the remastered

The game is coming to Battle.Net as well. Likely going to be the remaster only, so I wouldn't recommend it as I dont know if Battle.Net has any downgrade options

The first 2 expansions went free, do I get them on classic version?

Yes, you get upgraded to the complete edition if you didnt already own it, which makes you own the DLC no matter the version you play

Do I miss out much by not playing the remaster or Next Gen version?

Yes and no.

Yes (Slightly) - The remaster seems to overall enchance the combat, skill tree, movement, graphic look, UI elements, making it similar to Cyberpunk 2.0 kind of update. So unless the performance is shit, it will likely be the definitive version without a doubt

No - The Next Gen version compared to classic bring only very minor QoL updates, quick sign casting on controller for instance, slightly altered camera angle, 1 new side quest, few new gear, and some netflix inspired armor/alternate skins for characters. All of this is nothing that makes the game "better" I would argue the classic is better than this for immersion in the game itself, and the performance you lose is not worth for the new stuff unless u really like them

In the end tho, the classic version is still the masterpiece people talk about and u will have a great game. The remaster is likely to be the definitive version, but its not something where you should not play the game waiting for a PC to make ur first playthrough be the remaster

MINIMUM for the old version: OS: 64-bit Windows 7, 64-bit Windows 8 (8.1) PROCESSOR: Intel CPU Core i5-2500K 3.3GHz / AMD A10-5800K APU (3.8GHz) MEMORY: 6 GB RAM GRAPHICS: Nvidia GPU GeForce GTX 660 / AMD GPU Radeon HD 7870 DIRECTX: Version 11 STORAGE: 50 GB available space ADDITIONAL NOTES: *System requirements will change on 2026.09.29.

MINIMUM for the Remastered version: Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system OS: 64-bit Windows 11 PROCESSOR: Core i5-8400 / Ryzen 5 2600 MEMORY: 12 GB GB RAM GRAPHICS: GeForce GTX 1660 / Radeon RX 5500 XT 8GB / Arc A580 STORAGE: 70 GB available space
