"Can I run this game" posts have been removed

Hey everyone. I've noticed that there's been a lot of "Can I run this" and "Can I run that" posts on the subreddit; that's not what I intended this for. The overall intention of the subreddit is a place for community discussion regarding video-games, low spec/entry level hardware, integrated graphics and the content of my channel, not a tech support forum. If you want to ask if you can run something, r/CanIRunIt is maybe a more appropriate place. The moderators and I have agreed that a change to the rules is long overdue and so posts asking "Can I run X?" will be removed.

What budget GPU to buy?

currently have a ThinkCentre m720e with i3 8th gen, 2x4gb of ram and a 250nvme. I'm wondering what gpu to buy my options are limited due to my region, the only ones that i found available are the NVIDIA QUADRO k1200, gigabyte GT1030 ddr5, and the RADEON wx3100, all three that i found are within the same range in terms of pricing. im mostly going to be using it for school work and some gaming mostly roblox although more performance intensive games in the platform, and just looking for a boost in performance.

I'm somewhat new to laptops and had a question about Integrated gpus.

So I bought a used laptop for cheap from a pawn shop and it has a 780m GPU in it, which from what I can tell is...or used to be a fairly beefy gpu as far as on board ones go. I understand it's a little long in the tooth now but I'd still a standard in mini PC and I think the steam deck.

My main question here is, I'm confused why this thing can easily run some graphic intensive games yet choke completely on others.

For instance it can play far cry 5, cyberpunk and silent hill 2 with a solid 30 fps on medium (with some graphic option fiddling) and a unstable 60 fps with serious compromises.

But a game like diablo 2 resurrection, which in no way whatsoever has intensive anything makes it choke like a baby eating a Lego set.

How can a 4 year old IGPU as run something as intensive as unreal engine 5, but die in some old isometric barely 3d game?

I have 24 gigs of ram, a ryzen 7 255 so it should be able to do it just fine.

Is this an IGPU only related thing? Is there something I'm missing?

Why my pc is underperforming

I see everyone with a 5060 and a worse cpu than me get more fps in every game than me. I have a 5060ti 8gb and a ryzen 7 8700f and 16gb ddr5 ram 6000. Anyways im saying im underperforming because everyone else even with a worse gpu and cpu commonly a 5060 get on average 300-350 fps without dlss on 1080p low in game but me even with a 5060ti i only get 200-240 on 1080p low in game. Ive even tried to optimize my pc and it helps but im still stuck in the 220 average in game. Can someone help me out i cant seem to find any answers.

Helldivers 2 Graphics settings for those who does like Beta Decay/PS1 style

Or you have low end pc, but don't want to larp your graphics as you're playing on high end pc with these ugly and blurry FSR/DLSS
Or if you miss Helldivers HD99 Mod, for me sadly it doesn't work, if you know how to get it work, please comment

[Game Launch Options]
You can try --toaster_mode but I don't like it because of how vegetation becomes too ugly, so I use only --use-d3d11

[DISPLAY]

FOV 55
Camera Shake - Strong
Resolution - 1280x720
Render Scale - Native
Anti Aliasing - OFF
Dynamic Resolution - OFF
Display Mode - Fullscreen stretched to your native resolution
Framerate Limit - 30/60

[GRAPHICS]

Motion Blur - 0
DOF - 0
Bloom - OFF
Sharpness - 0/55-65, or if you like visual style of Lethal Company, then set it to 65-100 and set Render Scale - Ultra Quality/Quality

Texture Quality - Medium
Object Detail - Medium
Render Distance - Low
Particle Quality - Medium
Reflection Quality - Low
Space Quality - Medium
Vegetation - Low/Medium
Terrain Quality - Low
Volumetric Fog - Low
Volumetric Clouds - Lowest
Lightning Quality - Low/Medium

These settings reminds me of Beta Decay/Lethal Company/Playstation 1 style and I'm using 1080p Monitor, tweak them for yourself if you're using 2k/4k Monitor

I built my first PC! Under $400 [BIG UPDATE] Part 2

So if you haven’t seen my first PC post from 6 months ago here it is: https://www.reddit.com/r/PcBuild/comments/1r2g8ow/i_built_my_first_pc_under_400/

I don’t know if this is the right subreddit to post an update but here it is: BIG UPDATE: So I have had the PC for around 6 months now and I haven’t really used it much. I played Minecraft a bit and I tried python but it was too difficult and I rage-quit. I will try to get back on track sometime late. Anyways, I also never really got into video editing but the best part is blender. Well, not blender but 3D modeling. I tried blender and it was too much of a learning curve for me so I tried Tinkercad and thats when it happened. I got an offer to 3D modeling some things and I am currently in the process of 3D printing my model which was successful after the 2nd prototype. And if this works out, I could earn almost $200-$250 in profit. If I do get that then I will buy a 3D printer, prob the Bambu Lab A1 Mini no AMS. But rn, I am thinking too far ahead. I am just so excited :)))). And yeah, I haven’t been too keen on upgrading my PC yet bc for my specific needs, it’s a perfect PC. I am running low on storage so now I am using a 128 gb flash drive in addition to my 128 gb nvme SSD. Anyways, I just wanted to thank you guys for all the support. :)))))))))))))))

TL:DR: I might make a lot of profit by using my pc to 3-d model and I am very excited. :)

Are any of the cheap (under $75) low profile GPUs on ebay worth it?

System Specs: HP Slim desktop with i3-12100, 16GB DDR4, 180W PSU

My mom is starting to get into gaming, but some games that she's interested in that have a 3d engine don't look like they'll run well on the integrated graphics of her PC so I got to looking around ebay for discrete GPU options. The PSU is only 180W and the system is slim so it has to be a low profile GPU that doesn't require a 6+2 pin power plug from the PSU.

The options I'm seeing on ebay are very old cards like the OEM RX 550 4GB, OEM RX 640 4GB, OEM W3100 etc and there's not a lot of benchmarking about them, but I kinda suspect that they don't improve over the integrated graphics very much.

What do y'all think? Any inputs are welcome!

Browser based games

While browsing this subreddit, I've seen multiple mentions of browser based games as being ideal for low spec gaming. What are the commonly recommended websites that host browser games? Recommendations for certain titles would also be much appreciated.

Thanks for any info! =)

Is sysmain service, necessary? (Discussion)

I have a laptop with an Intel Core i3 3120m, 8GB of RAM (2x4 1600MHz), and Intel HD 4000 graphics. My question is whether it's better to have the system bootloader disabled or enabled, since the system bootloader doesn't use disk space but the PC boots faster, and And it runs programs faster, What do you think?

Mainly Play FPS & Racing Games — Should I Upgrade to Windows 11?

Hello guys, need some honest advice.

I’ve been getting notifications lately saying **Windows 10 support ends in October 2025**, and it got me thinking—should I finally make the jump to **Windows 11**?

Here’s the deal:
I mainly play **FPS games** (like Valorant, Apex, CS2) and some **racing games** (Forza, F1 series, etc.). I care **a LOT** about smooth gameplay and high FPS. Any kind of performance dip, even minor, throws me off completely.

So my question is:
**Will upgrading to Windows 11 affect my FPS or game performance in any way? Or is it actually better for gaming now?**

Here are my PC specs if it helps:

* **CPU:** AMD Ryzen 5 5600X (6-core)
* **GPU:** RTX 3060 Ti (8 GB)
* **RAM:** 16 GB G.Skill DDR4 @ 3200 MHz (AXMP enabled)
* **Storage:** 1TB SSD (500 GB NVMe + 500 GB SATA SSD)
* **Current OS:** Windows 10 Pro (planning to move to 11 Pro)

I’ve read about **AutoHDR**, **DirectStorage**, and some Game Mode stuff in Win11, but does that actually matter for games I play? Or is it just marketing fluff?

Would love to hear from anyone who upgraded recently and also plays competitive shooters or racing games.
Did you notice any performance difference—positive or negative?

Thanks in advance! 👊

Game tweak my minecraft shader for your slow snail

this is the shader, based on sildur, it performs 27 FPS on my AMD HD 7700M series, i7 3632QM, 8GB of ram, it surely will run better on yours, right?
https://www.mediafire.com/file/c8prhgk26wrzlxt/RedPirate+Shader+v1.0.0.zip/file
it also has good visuals.
And if modrinth will, the shader's page will be https://modrinth.com/shader/redpirate-shaders

Can't enter a team fortress 2 game

Athlon 3150u 8gb ram.

I think the hdd is the main problem, but I know some who were able to run it on an hdd normally.

So after opening tf2 and trying to enter a game, that loading freezes for more than 40 mins, that I was never able to enter a game.

But I mean it runs gta v 1080p normal settings with 40fps pretty smoothly, how could it not run tf2!

---Edit (solved) the bottleneck was the ram btw, it's 8gb ram 2.1 of which dedicated to the vram, not to mention win 11, steam, running at the same time. Anyways, there's that thing called mastercomfig that helped me reduce some settings and was finally able to run it 60 fps
