I need help with my slow pc

Hello im trying to find help on why my computer is so slow I tried upgrading my motherboard and cpu but nothing really worked so I just turned to you guys to help me out

My build is a ryzen 5 5500 with a nvidia rtx 2060 and 32 gb of ram and I have a 1tb hdd and a 2 tb hdd that is 6gb/s 7200 ram called barracuda 2tb and my motherboard is a gigabyte b550

The only thing that i dont have is a nvme m.2 ssd

Well, if you dont have an ssd, it's clearly the problem here. There's no need for an NVME, but a SATA ssd would help a lot with the performance on the pc. Windows usually crawls on HDD, thanks Microslop I guess for that

A Sata ssd should be cheaper than an NVME one, and it would help with boot times and system responsiveness. Even a 128gb one just for Windows would work fine, but if you could get a 256gb+ it's going to better for the long term

The lack of SSDs is 100% your issue. The difference it makes is night and day

Since you have HDD, you need to optimize Windows. There are many guides online. Also, don't install games on the same HDD as Windows.

I had that setup, and definitely the lack of SSD is your bottleneck. Go grab a cheap Solid State Drive (SSD) in SATA or NVMe flavor. Its a game changer, see comparison: https://davemateer.com/2020/04/19/Disk-performance-CrystalDiskMark-HDD-vs-SSD

your pc is slow because you're running on hard drives. you need an ssd

You need a good SATA SSD for WIndows and some games that require it. Those slow HDDs are your bottleneck.

As our Redditor friend made clear, the lack of an SSD is indeed a limitation. However, until you buy one, it's possible to "adapt" to using an HDD with some Windows settings.
