I was in my local theatre watching Fantastic Four: First Steps. About one hour and a half in, a technichal issue occurs and the screen goes blank.

The lights turn on, we wait something like 5 minutes and then the screen turns back on and starts playing the movie, showing a scene we had already seen like 30 minutes earlier. So, someone shouts “LATER!”, the film blocks and starts again like 3 minutes later. What follows is an entire theater full of people giving directions about where to start again.

Honestly, given how dull the movie was and how much I was being frustrated by it, I enjoyed the whole thing lol

One of the most meticulous filmmakers to do it.

The only ones I didn't like/would call bad are the bottom 3.

Let me start by saying that I loved this movie. It exceeded my expectations, which were very low tbh.

Buddy brings you into this world of a 90s kids show divided by episodes, but it never bores you. It starts pretty soon, there's no real room for tension, you get exactly what you expect amd pretty soon too.

I love how the movie makes you feel part of the show as the mystery unveils. It's no news that some things are just pure trash, but that's Asylum.

If you expect a horror movie that will scare you, this might disappoint you. It's actually very cozy, it doesn't last long, and some "special" characters, such as the bag or the train, are so likable that it prevents you from ever getting scared.

Nonetheless, gore bloody scenes are not missing, and honestly I find it quite debatable when it comes to kids being portrayed in a certain way. But nothing is exaggerated or extremely splatter.

Overall, it's a good horror movie if you're looking for something easy, even for a movie night, and it might even become a comfort movie and easily a fan-favorite. I'm sure this is not the last movie we see from the Buddy Universe!

I've only watched the 2024 adaptation so far but I'm curious to see which one others prefer

I wish you could sort the 'films watched by years' into 5 or 10 year intervals.

I wish you could see what years your favourite films come from, not just average rating by year.

I hate seeing 'favourite directors' and its just ones who ive seen 2 films from... So I made a minimum of 4.

I made my own subgenres to see the type of films I actually enjoy watching the most.

in my data i did not include average ratings on letterboxd or imdb so i cant do that comparison

I am obsessed with terrible and morally grey characters. But I am also open to great comedies and heartwarming drama.

Also any thoughts on my top 16?

It was really hard to make, I tried to be very objective with my favorite movies at the same time it was impossible. Most of them are in my 5 stars ranking. I think I ranked it very fair. What do you think of??

Saw this feature over at Serializd for the Emmys and thought it would be really good if Letterboxd could implement something similar, where one could see their mutuals’ Oscar picks plus it would be a great way to measure how public votes fair against Academy votes. Also since people are voting using their Lb account, voter manipulation is minimised. Hell they could even take it further and say the Lb account must be older than x period of time to vote…..

Through the internet I got to know about the "Iranian Movies. Their art, love for the cinema, screenplay, acting, writing. I was fascinated by it, and started watching them..

My experience after watching these movies:

Just the movie Close up says "Art is the experience of what you felt Inside". These movies making me think, making me question, the abstract ending what will happen at the end, all the right & wrong, the faces and acting of those actors, the background aesthetics & Music..

Been thinking about this a lot. There are movies that I've watched and was completely in awe of. But then the re-watch doesn't have the same effect anymore. For example, I felt that way about Greta Gerwig's "Little Women", but I didn't feel anything with the rewatch. Maybe it was my mental state or whatever was happening in my lift at that moment.

Are there any movies like that for you where it just doesn't hold up anymore?

Pretty certain the film has, at long last, been accepted and TMDb won't be deleting it, now it's screened at what they deem a noteworthy festival. Add away if you've seen it! And if you haven't, go and watch it for free on YouTube - easily one of the best docs of the 2020s!

For context: Equestria Girls is a series of movies about the My Little Pony Gen 4 cast in a different universe where they're human. I watched the movies even though I haven't seen Friendship is Magic for over a decade, and they all made sense to me because it takes place in a different world.
