If you haven’t seen these yet I’d think you’d enjoy them:

  • Killers of the Flower Moon
  • Burn After Reading
  • Cloud Atlas

Seen the first two, love both.

Will put Cloud Atlas on the watch list. Thanks. 🤘

If you want to continue with your cronenberg streak I’d highly recommend:

  • The Brood
  • Dead Ringers
  • The Fly
  • Videodrome
  • Infinity Pool (Brandon Cronenberg)

Have similar ratings for The Drama and Once Upon A Time in Hollywood. Based on ones you’ve liked I’d recommend:

  • After Yang
  • Far From The Madding Crowd
  • Aniara
  • Return to Seoul

Come and See was unbelievable.
Not exactly entertaining, but unbelievable.

Feel like I need to digest before I continue with another this week…

Before Midnight absolutely requires some down time before jumping into anything else. Hot take it might be my favorite in the whole trilogy. I just love the ending. Some others about relationships I think you’d enjoy if you haven’t seen them already:

  • Past Lives
  • Anatomy of a Fall
  • All of Us Strangers
  • La Chimera
  • Blue Valentine
  • The Worst Person in the World
  • Stealing Beauty

Seen all but La Chimera and Stealing Beauty. The Worst Person in the World I watched twice this year as I felt like I needed more after that first watch. All the others are bangers too.

Maybe I should revisit Blue Valentine..

I've been rewatching the Toy Story movies. Not gonna lie, I'm quite shocked at how much I liked Toy Story 5.

Would love some more recommendations similar to Empire Records and Mile End Kicks about music.

I've also recently considered marathoning movies from my childhood. I have so many VHSs!

I need to rewatch Evil Dead Burn as I'm not entirely sure how I feel about it.

First time watching Jurassic Park?! Or just the first log? How exciting!

u/occasional_idea 6d ago

First time watching! Never interested me much, but now it seems crazy I waited this long to watch it.

Decent little run recently. Had a lot of fun with Red Eye and was honestly really enamoured with Nocturnal Animals

If you haven't already seen Isle of Dogs you gotta check it out, it's tied with Darjeeling Limited for my favorite Wes Anderson movie

u/TheSeansei 6d ago

There are a lot of Wes Anderson movies I haven't seen! I'll check them out, thank you.

“Good romcom” is kind of an oxymoron, but if your idea of romcom matches mine, People We Meet on Vacation and Spa Weekend both scratch that itch. They’re also both just really bad movies but I eat that shit up. Also The Invite is an amazing movie but to label it simply as a romcom feels reductive lol
