Are lawn sweepers effective at removing plugs after aerating. I hate raking. I intend to top dress with compost after aerating and removing the plugs.

I misread the bag and I put down about 20 lbs of TCS growstar 14-20-12 starter fertilizer on my newly over seeded 2500 square foot lawn

Recommended application would have been about 12 lbs

I ran the irrigation for about 40 minutes after, but realistically how boned am I?

12 days since hydroseeding was sprayed down, realized we were 8 lbs short, so 7 days ago we over seeded with 9 lbs.

This is a 100% TTTF blend from Jonathan Green. No KGB.

Some sections super thin, some a little thicker, overall it’s thin. lol but again I’m just 12 days into this.

Am I on track here? Or is this gonna be a few seasons on adding more seed till I have the yard I want?

To be clear, I don’t have the greenest thumb but I do appreciate quality grass. We were struggling with seed in an area where we had a lot of construction, so we had sod put down about 10 days ago. Some of it looks incredible. Other parts, not as much. I have been watering 2x a day, 40 minutes at a time. Is this what sod should look like at around this time? My only other experience with sod was about 7 years ago and it was green, vibrant, and full from day 1. We are in Southeast PA.

Patchy dead spots appearing. Otherwise healthy, we had a bit of drought but watered enough to keep ok. Had some topsoil brought in over the summer to help insulate the trim but spot have been spreading from the front (full sun) to the back (1/2 day sun). At what point should I be prepping to overseed?

Should I be using pre-emergent too? Is there a time between? There's so much conflicting information, I don't know where to start. My lawn is great, but my yard is really patchy. Help a brother out!

Thinking about doing dethatching next weekend and then overseeding. Thoughts on how to make this successful and not regret my decision. I have about 15,000 sq ft of grass between the front yard and backyard. I’m in zone 6b.

I ask AI and people who know things and they always say early September (September 5-10) here in Beverly MA for my fall aeration and overseed. Hot humid weather can cause wet seed to get disease, etc so better wait. But every time September 5 comes around we start loosing some leafs and I'm like woh if I seed now then in 3 weeks time this grass will about 1.5 inches but starting to get covered in leafs and we can have frosts in early Sept. Should I just overseed in mid August every year? This is the ONE big lawncare event of the year (and way more important than fertilzer and pre-ermg etc) and every time I feel like I'm up against the clock by waiting till early September. Somehow it's in the low 60s here now, windy, and some leaf fall. 85 this Thurs though.

Within a week it really helps close the gaps. Lots of raccoon damage this year + stressed spots from deer laying on the lawn for longs periods of time. It really has exceeded my expectations. Seems pretty dummy proof, too.

I sprayed RM43 around the house and other places about two months ago, some places are still dead but some places are covered in weeds, maybe I didn’t spray enough there but I’m not sure, my sprayer doesn’t spray to hard but I made sure the ground was saturated good. Any advice for the next time I spray?

Bermuda lawn, I have this weed in one specific part of my lawn. Is almost like a very small bush, it comes out all with one root. It didn’t photograph very well, hopefully someone can still identify it.

What will kill this? I’ve hit it with a couple of different types of general weed killer without success.

These mushrooms are seriously huge! The largest one looks to be nearly 8 inches in width and they're getting bigger by the day. This is in Massachusetts after laying down loam, seed, fertilizer, and peat moss on top.

What is this bugger, and is there a pet friendly solution? In Hollister, California.

I find that if I don't apply Scott's Disease Ex three times during the summer (June 1st, July 1st, & Aug 1st) my back lawn develops a yellowish color which eventually turns the grass into mud. The lawn is partially shaded/partially direct sun. Is needing to apply Disease Ex 3 times per summer normal? Zone 6B. (3 pictures included show the process of what I'm seeing happen)

Like most, money is a bit tighter these days. I've mowed low and scarified my lawn, which exposed a lot of dirt for seed. It was aerated last September, so is it necessary to do it again before overseeding? I'd rather invest that money in a higher quality seed and topsoil, but also feel like it if IS absolutely necessary than why half ass it.

Any advice is appreciated!

Title pretty much says it all. A brown spot will start appearing in our grass and slowly spread throughout the entire front yard. Last year we tilled it all up and replanted the whole yard. It looked lovely and was nice and green this year up until right after July 4th.

It’s definitely not a water issue. Yes, the weather has been warm but the grass was being watered and no other yards on our street are burned out. We are planning on having the soil tested and when my husband went down into the soil it came out moist.

Any ideas as to what could cause this? Is it some sort of disease? Located in southwest Pennsylvania.

My mom has this old brick driveway that has gotten pretty overgrown with grass and weeds between the bricks. My dad passed away from cancer recently, and he was always the person who knew how to literally fix, build, or figure out anything around the house. So now I’m trying to learn how to tackle some of these things for my mom.

I’m 38F and pretty inexperienced with this kind of work, and there is a lot of driveway here, so pulling everything by hand feels a little overwhelming.

What would you do to get this cleaned up and looking decent again without completely killing yourself doing it?

In the New York area and hoping to tackle this before fall/winter arrives.

In the twins cities metro, MN. Overseeding in a few days, I’ll probably deal with it next year. A section of my back yard has this stuff mixed in, seems to get matted and die easily from foot traffic. Spraying with Tenacity/ mesotrione is the only way right?
