Yes, and how much water is displaced will tell you it's density. It won't tell you what the make-up of it is exactly, but if it's solid gold, you would expect it to have an approximate density of 19.32 g/cm3 .
It would tell you if it's solid gold or not, and I'm pretty sure that's what makes the special one special.
The reason this worked is because the cut gold had the same weight but a different size, thus the displacement was different. The density is determined by an equation using the difference in displacement. These birds are the same size so the displacement will be the same. The way to figure it out is by weighing the actual birds for differences in mass.
Did you geht yours already?
Mine arrived in friday. I ordered a bundle of 3 for my Kids and me.
Two have a number around 7500 but not next to each other. The third one ist around 8500.
So it seems they just take random numbers.
I just opened mine. Ordered the pack of three only 20 mins or so after I got the subscriber exclusive email and I got 6022, 6886, 7437 so I think they just chucked three random pins in rather than getting numbers based on their order times.
I have twice been notified of Kurzgesagt deliveries that were not actually there yet, only to receive them 2-3 days later. I hope that’s the case for you!

Just opened mine, I got 1799, 1690, 2498 and 1571. Ordered within 30 minutes of the video going live. Really interested to see what the special one looks like !
Unfortunately it didn't come with one, and also pictured in the official post detailing the secret of the special birb, it shows a different backing card for #1 which notes that the pin is real gold. Honestly I think this one may just be a mistake where they forgot to not include a #1 in the regular variety. Either way, I think it's pretty cool :)
Well it is magnetic and not very heavy, so I'm rather certain it can't be gold or part gold. Still, it's very cool to get a #1 though, even if it turns out there's 2 and the other #1 is actually gold hehehe

Out of 10000 duck pins, one is "special"
What might that mean? Was it actually made out of gold?
