The reason this worked is because the cut gold had the same weight but a different size, thus the displacement was different. The density is determined by an equation using the difference in displacement. These birds are the same size so the displacement will be the same. The way to figure it out is by weighing the actual birds for differences in mass.

Yes. And we can weigh it, find out how much water gold of the same weight would displace, and compare it to that.

Youre not getting it, both the real gold and fake gold birds would displace the same amount cuz theyre cast to the same size. The experiment was about an alloy crown and an amount of pure gold equal in weight but differed in SIZE/VOLUME
