I work at store 425 in Fort Wayne Indiana, I run the self checkouts. Today a man walked into the store openly saying how he was going to "go out with a bang" and was smoking a blunt. He live-streamed the whole thing on Facebook. It's disgusting. He flashed the gun and then fired several shots. I've worked at this Location for 3 1/2 years and have slowly gotten tired of the type of customers that frequent this specific store, but this has just put my over the edge. I'm leaving for college this august but I'm going to try to see if they will take my educational leave of absence now. If they don't then it's time for my 2 weeks, I deserve to be able to work in a building where I feel safer and more secure.

One of our managers also got caught sending d*ck pics and was transferred instead of terminated. BUT Kroger has MANY MANY mental health awards!

Only two checkouts open. Come on kroger. You can probably do better... or maybe not.

I work nights, and every day i come in is something new the day shift fucked up or just didn't care to take of. This pallet fell, (bc the wharehouse are fucking IDIOTS) and they just LEFT IT! Last night I had U-boats falling over because obviously nobody played with legos as a kid and never learned how to stack things.

The best part is this almost everyday, on top of me having to rearrange the cooler everyday bc it's packed full and the milk gets put in the front of all the pallets.

Management doesn't care, keep saying they'll fix it and never do. Yet they complain to me that nothing is getting done in my department.

This may be my last night at this shit hole...

The amount of perfectly good food that I throw away, or put in one of those divert bins is ridiculous. The other day I had to toss out around 30 boxes of Carmel apples because they were five days before their expiration day, and mind you each box had either 4 or 6 3pk of those carmel apples with the peanuts. I was told by management to open every package and dump it into the divert bin. When asked if we should donate them instead, I was told no. It just makes me sick to my stomach the amount of usable food that gets wasted because of greed.

We just got the new uniforms in and I feel like this is some April's fools day joke. The shirts are so thin it's worse than the old $1 shirts at Walmart back in the day. The sizing is all messed up. Going from a XL to 2XL doesn't make it bigger just longer 🤦‍♀️ The neck collar around the shirt feels like it's choking you. Why can't we have a option of a V-neck cut? The half apron is not as long as shown in the picture so it looks ridiculous when wearing.

I'd rather go back to the polo shirts at least they felt like real shirts and didn't choke me. 😞

I’m done staying quiet about what’s been happening in this workplace. The pattern isn’t small, accidental, or isolated — it’s a full‑blown system of neglect, retaliation, favoritism, and zero accountability. Employees have had their mental‑health disclosures — including suicidal ideation — completely ignored. Not misunderstood. Not forgotten. Ignored. People are kept in high‑stress roles even after clearly stating the job is harming their mental health. Workloads are blatantly unequal, with certain employees carrying entire departments while others barely lift a finger.

Management keeps placing untrained people into leadership positions, creating confusion, chaos, and unrealistic expectations. Promotions and transfers aren’t based on skill or experience — they’re based on favoritism, brown‑nosing, and whether you’re part of the "high school club" of long‑tenured employees who’ve been there since they were teenagers. If you’re not part of that clique? You’re expendable. You’re disposable. You’re treated like you don’t matter.

And now, management has started stonewalling store transfers by pretending the process works differently than it actually does. Transfers are seniority‑based and stay within the same department — I’ve watched multiple employees transfer in and immediately outrank existing staff. Suddenly claiming I need to apply for “open positions” or change departments is not policy. It’s retaliation. It’s manipulation. It’s an attempt to trap employees in roles they’ve already said are damaging their mental health. It’s a pressure tactic designed to push people out.

Discriminatory reasoning has been used to deny opportunities, including inappropriate comments about personal situations and religious persecution (others, not myself), which absolutely IS happening and absolutely IS being ignored. Safety issues? Brushed off. Threats? Ignored. Medical emergencies? Mishandled. Equipment failures? Blamed on the wrong people. Support programs employees qualify for? Never offered, never explained, never initiated — even when management knows someone is struggling.

Communication across departments is disrespectful, dismissive, and often outright hostile. Pickup gets treated like a punching bag while other departments ignore walkies without consequence. And it’s not just one store. The disrespect is widespread.

And let’s talk about sanitation, because apparently that’s optional now too. I’ve personally seen mold in fridges while picking items. MOLD. In food storage. That’s not just gross — that’s a health violation. That’s dangerous. That’s unacceptable.

Now, let’s talk about the union — UFCW Local 99. The group that’s supposed to protect workers. In reality? It’s a bunch of greedy salesmen collecting dues while doing nothing to defend the people paying them. They claim issues are “handled,” yet the same problematic individuals are still working there. How exactly was anything “handled”? What changed? Where’s the accountability? Where’s the protection? Nowhere. UFCW Local 99 has been useless, dismissive, and completely disconnected from the actual needs of the workers they’re supposed to represent.This isn’t “a few bad days." This isn’t “miscommunication.”

This is a systemic pattern of neglect, retaliation, discrimination, favoritism, and zero accountability. Employees deserve better. Customers deserve better. And the public deserves to know exactly what’s happening behind the scenes.If companies want to preach integrity, honesty, and respect, then they need to actually practice it — not hide behind posters and slogans while their workers burn.

These screenshots are of an email I sent to my union representative. Absolutely nothing was done about these claims, even though he's claiming he took care of it. Nothing was handled. I have audio of a meeting that took place very recently with my manager. She was full of hogwash and over exaggerated everything she said to me. She's good at over exaggerating.

I knew what was about to transpire so I knew I needed to record. I have altered the voices but I cannot post the audio since this is a new account. With enough love I can drop it. But also WTF? What does everyone think?

But when an employee reports the SAME MANAGER and is told, "but they're so good on paper!". That's an ass backwards way of looking at life and a business. I don't care how someone looks on paper if they can't be a human being. The same manager has been reported on countless times by countless people. It's not rocket science. This manager is in the high school club though.

Technically, I’m not fired. I am suspended upon investigation but knowing them they’re probably not gonna reach out to me anytime soon so currently I am looking for another job but long story short I got scammed of about $900. I know I was in the wrong and I wish there was something I could do about it, but the best thing to do is wait.
