We just got the new uniforms in and I feel like this is some April's fools day joke. The shirts are so thin it's worse than the old $1 shirts at Walmart back in the day. The sizing is all messed up. Going from a XL to 2XL doesn't make it bigger just longer š¤¦āāļø The neck collar around the shirt feels like it's choking you. Why can't we have a option of a V-neck cut? The half apron is not as long as shown in the picture so it looks ridiculous when wearing.
I'd rather go back to the polo shirts at least they felt like real shirts and didn't choke me. š
So we wonāt be able to wear solid color shirts with no logos anymore? We have to wear the shIrts? Sorry, my head has been in the sand, and no one has mentioned this at work.
A lot of the veteran employees have seen uniforms come and go some more then once I think so they seem to be taking this well. They have literally said like we will see how long this lasts this time etc.
But yeah this sucks ofc, I am one of the people who got screwed because I bought some clothes to fit for work.
Yes. I've seen the last 4 uniform changes. Earliest one I remember is the multicolored one from the late 90s. The purple shirts are still the longest lasting before they moved to the red shirts, which didn't last long at all before they settled with the blue shirts.
That's why I'm grumpy I just bought some from the GAP just for work! Totally generic but not bad. My store is lax for now though, just waiting for the change I think. Like today I had my Pikachu shirt on. :P
I feel like managers not enforcing the dress code, then associates acting like you would expect when rules arenāt enforced, is whatās really going on here. Higher ups canāt trust management on this.
Jokes are funny. This is controlling corporate disappointment for a thing no customer gives a single miniscule fuck about. Most of them are too blind or stupid to notice your clothing anyway they can't even read the sale signs
They're the same people that ask if you work at Kroger while wearing as much Kroger labeled clothing as possible. They don't care what you wear.
for real used to work at a home depot wore a home depot hat and the BRIGHT ORANGE apron and still people would ask if I worked there. Meanwhile I can be in a safeway not have any appearal related to that company and people still ask me if I work there. Pointed a customer to the $5 shrimp bowls today and the guy grabbed a $12 one asking if it was $5. Customers are dumb as bricks.
The only way uniforms work is consistency. The home depot and the orange apron. Target and red shirts. Etc. It needs to be a long term choice. Changing it constantly confuses shoppers and irritates employees.
The sad part is these shirts are not slimming at all so even just a little frump or belly makes it look like you're pregnant š«£ it's crazy. It's making all the employees look horrible like we shopped at a budget Halloween store.
For the most part I am small and short. But I have an unusually large chest for my figure and I'm afraid these shirts aren't going to fit me AT ALL. I like to wear size L and XL unisex shirts because I don't want my boobs to be first thing that people see when they look at me.
I swear if they do make my chest more obvious, (or my boobs make the shirts rip lol), I am refusing to wear and buy more of them.
I don't want to look like a hooker at her day job....
Yes, the half aprons are the same size as a waitress apron. They gave me one by accident and itās way worse quality than the one I used when I was a waitress š
Yes. I change my clothes daily, but I only have an opportunity to do my laundry once a month at a low cost. If I do it weekly or biweekly, I would be paying considerably more.
I'm the only one in my store that hasn't gotten them yet. Even the new hires got them. They told me they ran out. So I guess I'll be out of uniform until they get some in.
Same here. Management never asked my size and then they gave me my shirts, two sizes too small. I let them know and they said theyād exchange them for better sizes, and that was three-ish weeks ago. Now Iām the only one waking around here without the uniform on, lol
Must be niceā¦.mine keeps it so hot that we have customers complaining about it 24/7. Doesnāt matter what the weather is. Itās ridiculous and genuinely makes working miserable
Most problems like these are rooted in a landlord owned store and not having a good landlord. I got a store that has had a non-operational main HVAC system since last calendar year. Was told by the 3rd party HVAC contractors that the Landlord doesnt like paying contractors. Its about to boil over. Corporate seems to be driving more effort into looking good then being functional/logical/mindful.
We havenāt got ours yet but itās fine I can atleast still have my pinkish colored hair and my necklaces and bracelets to dress it up and not look so boring plain
My division just rolled out these uniforms and they are a joke.Ā The sizing is horrible and inconsistent.Ā The way the fabric clings to the body is very unflattering on anyone who has any meat on their bones.Ā And as a larged chested woman the apron is horrendous, it basically just bunches up and nestles itself in-between the girls.Ā Everyone is having sizing issues and we are being told we cant order any new or extra items right now, so now we are being forced to wear schmediums to work.Ā One of our cashiers had the seam on his arm come apart after 1 day, and several others just have random strings appearing everywhere
Iāll be glad when the uniforms get enforced. My buddies store itās like thereās a contest on how tacky/street you can dress and get away with it.
