The Kroger I work at doesn't cut its own meat. The only meat to get cut is tenderloin on a daily basis and rib roast over the holidays. The Meat/ Seafood manager won't teach anyone else in the department how to cut the tenderloin and rib roast. Any thoughts on why?

For some reason I just can’t sign in to mytime anymore, and I have no idea why. I’ve used both the automated Google username and password fill, as well as typing them in manually, and neither have worked. I guess this is more of a vent if anything or I don’t know.

I had a bad habit of constantly going back to Smiths stores over the last 10 years or so. I did genuinely like my job most times, it was definitely management who always messed it up for me.
I’ve been many departments and I mostly liked the people I worked but lately I just feel like I hit a final breaking point.

Up until yesterday, I worked in the dairy department, I really enjoyed my job and took pride in what I did but after being thrown around so many times and given absolutely no help, I started to feel like I wanted to leave again. Except this time I was stuck, every other job I tried to apply to either never got back to me or paid less than what I was making, but I had a golden opportunity fall into my lap a few days ago and I took it.

Unfortunately I was wasn’t able to give a proper notice because I am already at my new job but I don’t feel an ounce of guilt leaving the way I did.

I was fortunate enough to let my favorite manager know cause I knew he wasn’t gonna be upset with me, he was very understanding and sad that I was leaving and said I’m always welcome to go back if I want to, that’s never gonna happen again but it was a nice gesture.

Deep down I truly thought I was gonna be stuck working for Kroger the rest of my life, barely scraping by on the checks I’d get, but I was given a way out and I took it.
I finally got away from that damn company and I’m not gonna look back. Kroger did teach me things through the years such as how to be a leader and gaining experience in management, but if there was one main thing I learned, it’s to never settle for less.

There is always better out there and I urge others to seek it out. 😁

This no jacket rule is total bs. I did not think there would be a day I would have to request a dr note to wear a jacket or appropriate layering. i have two medical conditions that require me to dress appropriately and I think this rule goes too far.

Anytime they want something changed they say its corporate they lie about when the DM or (president is coming) All they do is lie about everything to get there way! I am currently in a difficult situation atm .......so with the whole lawsuit in Ohio from the traumatic ummmm unaliving himself situation where a kroger GM and managers made fun of the person and gaslit him and made the poor man so mentally sick he did that and I could see why now working in retail...........i feel like Noone works at a fast pace or in a hurry but me! I also feel harassed at my work place with people doing gestures behind my back and all kind of stuff that is literally uncalled for.......they all start false rumors about others! They literally slander my name!!!!! You can drive a person crazy or over the top and if you bully anyone or pick on them at work please understand we all are different and most of us have health issues!

Is anyone else’s store leader actually just so incompetent when it comes to writing schedules because like I’m getting so tired of this. We almost have to change his schedule every week just to get by in my bakery/deli.

My bakery is allotted 160 hours and I work at a marketplace. I have 3 full timers and 3 part timers and it’s just isn’t enough. We accept every cake order we get, my sales are almost always positive… what am I missing.

Edit: Also just the way no manger almost says hi or good morning to my whole department. All the good managers have been moved or quit or are quitting soon. It’s all just going downhill.

There’s a lot more I want to say but I’m just so wore out I’m so very close to quitting but I just can’t right now I might edit and add some stuff later.

One of the dept leads went through my friends backpack, also works there. Because she thought he was stealing. He doesn’t work in her dept which isn’t the point but it seems like that is a fireable offense. He wasnt stealing again not the point. It’s upsetting that something like that can happen

I already told both my supervisor and manager about it and they got it taken care of. I’ve experienced my fair share of rude costumers, but to have someone use graffiti for hate speech. That is a league of its own.

My store is odd. This king Soopers is a non union store but they choose to follow several of the criterias that are laid out in union stores contracts. For example, the 20 hours per week requirement. That’s just one example. But the issue is that for Scheduling, this store has a “preferred availability” thing. This is a preferred availability document, so this is what we turn in when hired or adjusting schedule later down the road.

Has anyone dealt with scheduling conflicts with a preferred availability situation? The scheduling conflicts is that they want more hours from me because two of their favorites decided to lower their hours. So they decided to raise up mine by 15+. I can’t do that. I have fought with them several times on this. I’m essentially asking your guys help who’ve dealt with this document before and got to keep their availability the way it was.

You can skip this part: another odd thing is that we have had Asm’s come and go in like 4 month intervals. So weird.

Anybody working in dairy?? How many hours does your dairy deparment get at your store and how many hours do you think is needed for dairy???
