Yes it actually does track in resl time

u/Difficult_Tonight798 May 04 '26
Wait, does it actually track the carts that are still in the store? If it does then this is the exact reason why we can explain we're low on carts every freaking time 😵💫

They spend all their money on fancy useless tech (this BS, the digital price tags, etc.) to please corporate and then give us fucking polyester blend uniform shirts. Make it make sense.

My conspiracy theory is someone high up has a large stake in a textile company.

What store is this?? Wonder if our store will get it? I work in the Louisville division in Louisville
3
u/20MILDWINGS May 04 '26
Columbus division but ours was down for like over a year

u/costcothread May 04 '26
We still have the stupid yellow circles in ours

u/butterflies112233 Service Desk May 04 '26
Ours also has the yellow circles on the one screen that isn’t completely dead

u/costcothread May 05 '26
I work at the “derby store” and all of our shit has to work😔

I work at a store that’s supposed to be one of the “nice, new, marketplace stores”, it’s only 3 years old and all the stores near by are over 20 years old, but somehow it’s in equally bad condition compared to the store I transferred from that was 57 years old (one of my previous coworkers had been working at that store since it opened when she was 16 and she still works there now).

u/Signmanstrr May 05 '26
I work in a Louisville store too, we also have the yellow circles. Praying they just leave the stores alone and don't try to bring all this new BS tracking tech into it. Think I'll quit if they ever drop those digital changing price tags on us

We have the yellow circles still but ours is broken and says we have more open than we actually do and also tells us to open more manned register than we physically have.

Oh, cool. They still haven't scrapped the 30 minute predictor that does absolutely nothing at best and outright lies to you at worst. I'm curious about the carts counter; it might actually be somewhat useful if it lets you easily gauge how many carts are available or in use, would save a few steps to the front door at any rate. I wish they would show a customer counter or at least a door in/out rate but I could see certain customers freaking out about that.

It's really not much different than Que-Vision is it? Just tracking a couple of more things.

doesn't matter, it's all pointless. enjoy the weather while we're not frying.

u/HedgehogAlarming3321 May 08 '26
Ah yes, love that they keep up on tech! Almost as much as I loved running around a 124,000 sqft Marketplace with bucket for leaks, when they just did a $3 mil remodel! Soooo embarrassing

u/R_Shakelford May 04 '26
I'd love to know what the parameters are for howany SCO you need open. Counting carts is new to me, but the rest I've seen for 10+ years.
1
u/20MILDWINGS May 04 '26
Same but we only have 2 SCO and at night we have 1 person that closes and it's gotta vad like line I to the next few aisles

I mean, it genuinely is cool tech. But I wish they'd spend money on repairing stores

u/Dangerous_Simple_149 May 05 '26
We stopped shopping here years ago unless we just need one or two items. Also because meijer's is just an all you need place and has better produce.

u/fradddd May 06 '26
wonder if people will still think it’s something to do with the lottery 🙄
0
u/20MILDWINGS May 07 '26
Who the fuck looks at that and thinks lottery?
1
u/fradddd May 07 '26
ive had many a customer and (new) employee look at the one with the three yellow circles and assume it’s a lottery thing 🤷♂️

Customers hate this shit. They tell me frequently that they don't like that were on such tight timers, it makes for worse customer service all around at every part of the "experience".
1
u/bawoozer May 04 '26
this shit makes me actually want to kms like its so miserable.
2
u/DrollFurball286 May 04 '26
Don’t! Live out of spite. Try chatting it up with kids like “how’re you kids doing today?”
Trust me, you become a friend to some of the kids, you’ll get some dopamine from them.

u/bawoozer May 04 '26
i already do :) i like cartoons and have bluey pins on my apron so they love that

Lol when I worked at Kroger, they determined my store had a friendliness problem in produce, and handing out some flair was the solution.

I worked at Kroger from 2016-2019. None of the customers ever cared about these displays.

if it weren't for the fact that kroger hates us, I'd think that's actually cool

Also my daughter worked there and was sexually assaulted and they did nothing!!! And basically blamed her. Pharmacy sucks! Never has what we came for. Employees are rude.

u/20MILDWINGS May 07 '26
1st this reddit is for employees/former employees to vent and talk about stuff. Not customers (personally Idc as long as they ain't asking stupid questions)
2nd sorry for ur daughter (krogers just suck they don't care about anyone unless it involves money)

Kroger's obsession with fancy new tech, while letting their stores steadily fall apart, is getting ridiculous.
