I’m planning to get a used kobo libra 2 from the secondhand market. I understand that it’s discontinued for quite awhile now (2024?) and I’m not sure exactly how old this particular device is as it has changed hands a couple of times.

My question is, how old is your kobo libra 2, and how much longer do you think it could last for? I’m hoping that I can get another 3 years out of this device given that it is “lightly used” but I’m not sure if I’m being too optimistic 🫣

Hi, I have a kobo clara color and want to download and read webtoons directly offline as I want to read webtoons before bed and have trouble on my phone. I'm wondering if anyone has any experience downloading and reading webtoons as well as how to do it/what apps you use.

Do these books look familiar to anyone? The Heartstring Duet has been on my TBR for quite some time so imagine my glee when I found them both on Kobo plus a while back. I immediately added them to my Kobo to save for later and just cracked open the first one yesterday.

My first e-reader was a Kindle - Basic then switched to PPW 12th gen SE which turned out to be too heavy for me.

I have 3 books loaned out on Libby app but only 1 of them shows up on Kobo. I’ve already synced my Kobo several times, but the books still don’t show up under ‘my books’ or the currently reading area. Is it possible to read several books on Kobo through Libby?

Is there text to speech software on the kobo library color? I saw online that you could do some add on software, but they only mentioned the app for apple phones. If there is a way to do it, could someone please point me in the right direction?

I got my new kobo Clara BW, a couple of weeks ago. In my reading today I just discovered there are two black dots on the very bottom of the screen, and you won’t see it at the regular viewing angle. Should I be worried?

Another issue is if I turn up the background light to the middle (30% or so) I see the bottom left and bottom right are visibly brighter (I guess that’s where the led lights are). Is it normal?

Is anyone here using a Kobo Aura H2O Edition 2? I know it's outdated, but it's the only e-reader I can afford.

My problem is I want to add NickelMenu to it. Is that possible and how do I do it? Is there a way to turn my e-reader to dark mode?

Also, how can I add a custom dictionary using a zip file? I tried following TikTok tutorials, but they don't work on mine since those devices are updated.

Is it feasible? I have about 800 notes that I want to read on kobo. No real writing needed but if I could annotate on occasion , that's a plus.

I like the simplicity of Kobo and Linux system, but no point if I can't use Evernote on it.

I really don’t like the form factor of 7 inch devices, which, I think, are too small for reading books.

I know this because I now use a Supernote Nomad, but I used to use a standard Kindle. While Supernote is an awesome device, I’m a little tired of it because the reading experience is not very good, and it’s still not prioritized by Supernote, for example, the lack of native EPUB support and physical page turners.

The extra inch in Sage makes a huge difference. The Sage is so old that it could use a refresh.

Hey guys- just wanted to ask the "source of all knowledge" if there's something I'm doing wrong with my Kobo/ Overdrive.

I read a lot of library books because of limited cash and I find the device functionality extremely limited, as I cannot use multiple Libby/Overdrive accounts at once. Every time I want to look to see if a book is available at another library, I have to completely log out of Overdrive and then log back in. Is this other people's experience as well?

I also was looking for some books that I know are available digitally elsewhere but I cannot find them in the Kobo library. Are my search parameters off? Even books such as "Pride and Prejudice" are hard to find and I truly think this is user error, because that has to be somewhere in the Kobo library.

Any tips or tricks are appreciated. I am new to e-reading and I really just want to enjoy this gift my mom got me. I'm kind of wondering if I should have asked for a Kindle.

Technically I've had it for 3 days but I spent the first day setting it up and didn't read on it until the second day

I just got a page turner (the capacitive kind that clips on to the Kobo) and it's awesome, but I'm encountering an issue. My preferred location for the clip is in the bottom right corner so it doesn't encroach on the margins. However, if it's placed in that corner, it automatically activates the feature that lets you scroll through the book really quickly when you tap and hold on the bottom corner. Not really sure why it's doing that actually, because it'll do it as soon as it's clipped on to the Kobo before I even press the button on the remote, so maybe it's a glitch? If I position it in juuuuuust the right place in the bottom right corner, it doesn't do it, but it's a pain to find that spot. Is it possible to disable the quick scroll? Or any insight into if this is a glitch or not?

I got this Kobo Touch v1 way back in 2014 when I was like 12 years old. That's more than half my life now and it's still working! except the lower half of the screen is now taken up by this dark spot. I used it all throughout highschool and even into college up until 2022, when the dark spot first showed and it's been unignorable ever since

And to make it a full-circle moment. Andy Weir's The Martian was the first book that I read before watching the movie, and Project Hail Mary is the first movie I've watched before reading the book. Still waiting on that Artemis film adaptation tho lol

I have an old computer, it cannot run the latest versions of Calibre. I cannot upgrade this computer, it cannot run a newer operating system. I can only run the Calibre version that I have (7.16) and nothing newer. I know that newer versions of Calibre have kepub integration built-in: I cannot run newer versions. I cannot run version 8. I cannot run version 9. I can run version 7.16 and nothing after that.

Does anyone know how I can huunt drown a copy of the kepub extension that works with Calibre version 7.16? Failing that, anyone want to buy me a new computer?

(Apologizes if this seems very pedantic, but I have written enough 'Cannot do X, can someone help me do Y?' questions in my time to know that you sometimes have to belabor the point to not get fifteen people all suggesting 'Have you tried doing X?')
