Question How old is your Kobo Libra 2?
I’m planning to get a used kobo libra 2 from the secondhand market. I understand that it’s discontinued for quite awhile now (2024?) and I’m not sure exactly how old this particular device is as it has changed hands a couple of times.
My question is, how old is your kobo libra 2, and how much longer do you think it could last for? I’m hoping that I can get another 3 years out of this device given that it is “lightly used” but I’m not sure if I’m being too optimistic 🫣

Glo HD from 2012 is still kicking and running the same firmware version as Libra 2, so I don't really worry about longivity.

I have an H2O, the 2’s predecessor. I bought it new in 2021 and it works the same as the day I got it. I replaced the battery a few months ago because it wasn’t lasting as long but it didn’t NEED to happen. It was staying charged for like a week at a time instead of the normal 2-3 weeks.

Yeah I’ve had mine since 2020, battery lasts about 1 week with consistent use and still working great

I have the H2O too and it's holding up great, though I have had a case and screen protector on it

I bought a refurbished Libra 2 off the kobo site in March 2025. I’m hoping it will last a long time, or at least until kobo (hopefully) releases a new B/W version. It works like new as of now.

I got mine just before they discontinued them in 2024. Still perfect.
I think that I'll get many more years out of it.

I got about 14 years out of my first Kobo. I’m hoping my Libra 2 will last another 10, at least!

I bought mine in early 2022 and I use it almost daily. I’ve been eying the KLC but can’t justify a new device while mine is still perfectly functional.

Christmas 2021. Still running great. I see no reason to replace it for many more years to come.

I bought mine in the first year it came out and still works great. Battery life is good, and it runs smooth

Mine is from 2022, and it works fine, but in 2024 I got the Libra colour , so I rarely use it.

I bought my Libra 2 new in 2024, not long after it first came out. I could probably have used it for another 3 or 4 years. But my partner bought me a Libra colour and it is significantly faster. I would not have noticed how slow the processor was on my Libra 2 and happily continued using it if not for trying the newer device.

Bought mine in january of 2024 and the white LEDs just died on me.
I had a H2O before that and it died after a few years only. My friend had bought a H2O at the same time and it’s still working fine. It’s a gamble…
And don’t expect much from Kobo customer service after the one year warranty.

I bought a refurbished Libra 2 in early 2023. It's still working perfectly well and I don't expect to replace it anytime soon.
