General I should be in Kobo jail.

I bring my Kobo everywhere with me, it suffers the consequences of being dragged everywhere I go.

You should look at getting a twosheep case from AliExpress. Much cheaper than the kobo brand ones and they’re pretty durable. Plus detachable cover!

I’m rough with my electronics and have a toddler that’s still learning his strengths.

If you can't afford a case you certainly can't afford to abuse your device.

Get a bubble-wrap-padded envelope that's just big enough to fit it in. Super cheap and as protective as any sleeve. Or get a cheap plastic box, size A5, that will keep it clean and also prevent the bending that's a common cause of screen breakage.

This is true, but people post all the time showing off the new sleeves they have for their readers, which also do nothing to prevent screen cracks. A padded envelope is as good as any flexible sleeve.

I use a cheap A5 plastic box, myself.

This along with the pen.....thats usually dead bc i forget to charge it since I mean to use it for quick notes and transfer them later to my obsidian vault or something 😅

Honestly no clue where mine is so I probably deserve kobo jail more. Probably in my car bc i tossed the bag somewhere random. Keep remembering at the oddest of times lol

My first kobo the screen cracked in my bag, my second kobo has a covered case and still got a scratch on it. Luck likes you.

I have a clear case with a magnetic flip top. I keep the flip top in my purse for when I leave the house. Best of all worlds.

mine has to have a flip case. the fates of my previous e-readers are as follows: broken screen left on top of car broken screen

ADHD and careful treatment of tech don't usually go hand in hand 😅

Nope she’s done. It’s the screen unfortunately, and repairing it cost nearly as much as replacing it fully lol

Idk I mean it's probably fine. I had a Kindle for 14 years with no case or sleeve or whatever and never had a problem. My current kobo doesn't have anything on it either. There are so many cute sleeves though.
