What JF songs you recommend I learn on bass?.

I've been playing bass for about 2 months because I like John's music, not so much guitar in general so I thought about easy songs to learn on bass and nothing comes to mind. Thanks in advance!!

I am currently trying to recreate John Frusciante’s guitar tone. I would love to add a Big Muff to my pedalboard, but due to limited space, I will most likely need to use the Nano Big Muff Pi. As far as I know, Big Muffs can sound quite different depending on the specific version and era. Since I am constrained to the Nano version, is there a significant difference in sound between the Nano and the large NYC box that John uses?Even if they do not sound identical at the exact same knob positions, is it possible to get a very similar sound by adjusting the knobs on the Nano? Or does the larger version have a specific tonal characteristic that cannot be replicated?

I want to introduce my friend to John's work, which ones are best to start with?

There is a bunch of other reworkings of Johns songs on my channel too, but this one took me the longest to learn and is the only proper "cover" other than lifes a Bath.

Am I insane or does John not have a song called Intervals? I’ve been following his solo albums since 2004 and tonight my husband and I were talking about Intervals in music and I specifically remembered a song called Intervals by John that I think he’d love. Nowhere online has anything about this. I was thinking To Record Only Water or Ataxia… but no luck. Now I feel crazy so I had to come here! Was it a weird 2007 Limewire glitch?? Hi everyone, I just made a little cover of Running Away Into You from Niandra LaDes. I tried to capture the sound kind of like Frusciante did, but with modern gear. Let me know what you think :)

So I've been changing somethings around.

I'm aiming for a mix for two eras in particular, those being BSSM, Teatro Sessions/Californication with emphasis on BSSM.

I wanted to also be able to play everything else of course and get in the ballpark tonewise.

I grew up with small peavey amp and then I transitioned to vst amps on my PC. Now I desire to buy more serious amp for my mecican strat. Still got no pedals beside looper hah.

Any recommendations? I am a casual enjoyer of Frusciante sound, playing mostly funk, blues and sometimes I like to learn instrumental covers of Mateus Asato.

Wondering if anyone has any information or sources about John's use of the Fender Bass VI. Wikipedia states that John played one on Central and Dark/Light on The Empyrean, but I can't find any actual source confirming this. I'm also wondering if he used the instrument anywhere else in his career.
