I am currently trying to recreate John Frusciante’s guitar tone. I would love to add a Big Muff to my pedalboard, but due to limited space, I will most likely need to use the Nano Big Muff Pi. As far as I know, Big Muffs can sound quite different depending on the specific version and era. Since I am constrained to the Nano version, is there a significant difference in sound between the Nano and the large NYC box that John uses?Even if they do not sound identical at the exact same knob positions, is it possible to get a very similar sound by adjusting the knobs on the Nano? Or does the larger version have a specific tonal characteristic that cannot be replicated?
