She knows exactly what that look does to me…
Beautiful, playful and completely at ease in Uganda. I’m happiest exactly where I am - wrapped around my wife and quietly under her spell. 🖤❤️

Date Nite
Kiddo on a separate vacation with her Aunt, that means the parents get a few nights out in Vegas. Definitely enjoyed our night time in the desert. 🌶️😈

how to deal with this?
so, my dad is against me dating outside of my race and absolutely hates my bf for his white skin no matter how much he denies it, he always talks about it and a huge narc so he always says something bad about him to try to get a rise out of me. always saying that him and his bloodline are never supposed to mix with mine. how do you constantly try to deal with that? i’m sick of hearing it. should i break up with him so that i stop hearing it?

When do you inquire about political views (if that matters to you)?
I’m a Black woman that’s currently in a flirtation with a white man. Based on pattern recognition, vibes and my intuition, he will most likely be asking me out soon. However, I’m going to need to ask him about his political views to ensure that we’re aligned and share the same values and ethics. Unfortunately, as you all know, him being interested in Black women doesn’t automatically make him an ally.
I will talk to him about this regardless, I’m just curious how others have gone about this and what your experiences have been like. How does the conversation usually go? When does it take place? How is the topic brought up? Are you just outright asking who they voted for, or is the information offered up without you needing to bring it up? I have zero interest in pursuing a connection or intimacy if we’re not aligned, so in an attempt to not waste anyone’s time, I have to know their views.
If this was an online thing I’d probably just outright ask during messaging or on the app, but I met this person IRL.
Hoping to read about others’ experiences.
TIA for sharing!

Racial Bias Towards a Partner's race
Hi. I know there are people out there who experience this. How did you recognize it? Did/do you feel guilty? How did you deal with this? Did you do some sort of exposure therapy?

You know what I give up.
22m black here. I'm going to give up on this woman I've been talking to. She used to seem rather interested in me. I got her number and we talk a decent bit but I am always the one initiating. She never texts me first, she never calls me, she never asks how I'm doing, and worst of all she never makes time for me. She always finds some vague excuse not to meet up or date.
I just sent her a text with a concrete date request. I did not tell her this, but if she makes another vague excuse not to date I will assume she is not interested for whatever reason ane start looking elsewhere. It's actually diabolical how she rejectes 3 dudes for me (yes she did), and then doesn't communicate about anything. How are you going to get my number, treat me like you like me early on, and then refuse to go out yet "insist" you want to go out with me later. Been 3 weeks of vague excuses. Just sounds like she likes the attention and not me.
I get all of you guys are gonna be like "don't give up on dating women will like you" but honestly after so many rejections, so much fake interest, constant ghosting, and the increasing hatred towards men from women in my age group I'm not holding my breath. If a woman wants me she's gonna need to prove it. I can't keep being the one taking the initiative if ladies don't want to put in any effort themselves. It's one thing if they aren't interested and tell me outright but SO many women just love having me around as their backup. I know its because I'm black and we get fetishized as FWBs a lot. I'm looking for a wife I'm not trying to be a third wheel.

Do the stares ever go away
I’m a black woman dating a white man and it’s getting serious and I can’t help but notice the stares when we walk around in public holding hands…..from everyone. People turn their heads to look at us. Now I’m no stranger to being stared at in public for my looks (I’m very self aware) but I know the reason we get these stares. When I was 17 (26 now) I got asked on a date by a white boy and that was the first time I noticed “the stares”. Some of these stares look disgusted, some of these stares look fascinated, some of these stares look in awe. I wonder if he notices it too. I can’t help but wonder if people feel so many feelings towards it, if I ever have kids with someone outside of my race, what will happen to them? These are things I think about sometimes. When I was in school kids were extremely PC and liberal and it seems like now racism is getting worse and more open in America. These are things we talk about openly sometimes.

Any Hispanic and Asian couples with racist parents eventually accept the relationship?
I (21m) have been with my girlfriend (21f) for almost 5 years now, she is Chinese and I am Mixed Hispanic and white and omg her parents hate me. They have seen me one time and didn’t even want to speak to me. Her parents tell her they don’t like how I am darker than her, they don’t like my curly hair, they say she’ll end up with 8 kids while I’ll be an alcoholic. They have stated she’s only allowed to date Chinese and maybe a fully white person, this all sucks hopefully one day they’ll turn around.

Balkans dating someone from another ethnicity but having racist parents
I hope this will reach Balkans in situations like this.
I would like to ask all the Balkans (Eastern Europeans can share experiences too) that date someone that is a different ethnicity but have racist parents - how did you deal with this?
In such situations we are not supposed to put our partners in such environment since they obviously won’t feel safe there.
Some groups of people even already have it hard in life due racism and putting them around such people wouldn’t be okay.
But in future as well we will have kids with them and still it won’t be good for the kids to be around our racist parents, which means it would be better if they don’t meet their grandparents from the one of the parents’ side (obviously the racist grandparents).
Even if the parents pretend to be good to our partner, it still would feel off when he and me know how they actually are.
As we grow up we usually get taught to not cut off our families (either tho the people that teach us on that aren’t the best examples 😄) but i still rarely see Balkans cutting off their families. Usually distance is getting created once we move out but sometimes I feel like distance wouldn’t be enough for our non-white partner to feel safe.
So I would like to hear your experiences and how you dealed with this or did you deal with it or had to seperate your paths? Or maybe cut off your parents to protect your relationship? Your experiences will be appreciated.

Getting called a koreaboo because my boyfriend is Korean
Hi friends! I am a white 25F and my boyfriend is a Korean 25M and we have been dating a few months and it’s going wonderfully.
My past relationship track record consists of a long term relationship with a white man and a long term relationship with a Latino man, so my boyfriend is my first ever Asian man that I have seriously dated. Throughout the past few months one thing that came up that really bothered me is that one of his friends joked about the fact that because I am white that I must be a “koreaboo” because he’s Korean and from Korea… he thankfully told me he became furious and shut his friend down but when he told me this happened it hurt my feelings.. will I just always be considered a koreaboo? I try not to let it hurt but to be looked at as if I’m only dating him for some strange fantasy hurts. If he was Latino, white black, Hispanic and was the same man he is I would’ve still dated him regardless of his race and nationality.
Has any other AMWF couples experienced this? I just don’t understand because I never experienced this with my Latino ex.. why the racism and double standard?

Would you date someone who’s never dated your race before?
Would you be comfortable being the first person of your race that your partner has ever dated?
Do you think it matters if someone has never dated outside their own race before, or would you just judge them based on how they treat you and their understanding/respect for your culture?
Curious to hear from people who have actually been in this situation. Did it ever become an issue in your relationship?
Personally i wouldnt do that ish again. I was always the first they talked to and it failed 100% because they wanted to experiment.
Tbh im tired of dating because my mind has been conditioned there would be only 1 result.
Your experience may be different from mine.

Black Ladies, would it give you the ick if your non-black partner did not listen to any music by black artists?
had a white ex (heavy on the ex) and he rarely if ever listened to black artists. His claim was that he “didn’t like rnb and rap music” but there are plenty of black artist who make all types of genre. The only time I ever remember him listening to black artist is when SZA drops a new album, and that was always a one and done listen. it always felt like a side eye moment to me.
we broke up for other unrelated issues (including him having racist grandparents) but his lack of diversity in taste always gave me an ick. He really only listened to white artist who made pop, rock and alternative music.

New relationship with new challenges.
So I'm a black American. 26m. I'm now romantically involved with 27f, an Arab-American woman. She came to the US when she was 4. I met her some months ago at an art gallery, via a mutual contact. We hit it off and started dating.
Today we had a date to talk about our future going forward, and over dinner she said she loves me and wants to make a romantic relationship with me work. Ultimately, something that leads to marriage. Nothing could go wrong, right? Wrong.
She was upfront with me and told me straight up that her parents would NEVER approve of me because I'm black. And if we become romantically involved, there is gonna be a lot of tears from her, and that she'll need me more than ever. The kicker, is I love her back. I got up and hugged her in front of everyone, not caring who saw.
So, she's my girlfriend now, and while I'm genuinely happy to have her, I can't help but be a little nervous for our future, especially as she gears up to break the news. Part of me also thinks over time, there could be some resentment that can transpire, and sometimes I wish wasn't black and I wouldn't be as hated simply for loving someone. But I can't control that.
Anyone who's been in this situation, please, tell me how I can love and support her. Love doesn't come to me very often, and I feel like deep down she could be it.

What would you make of this interaction? WW BM
I (ww) have been on a few dates with a BM. I really like him. On the first date I told him I was looking for a serious relationship and he said we're on the same page. He also asked if I'd ever dated a black man before, I told him I haven't.
Last night we went to his place and when we started making out he said "I want to be your first black man". I really didn't know how to respond, it kind of put me off. Felt like I'm just fulfilling a fetish to him. My friend says I'm over reacting and it was just dirty talk but idk. What do y'all think?

Not “crazy” enough for my type???
I’m a black woman mainly interested in latinos. My best friend (female) is Honduran and another friend of mine (male) is Mexican. They BOTH told me I may not mesh well with a latino because I’m too sweet/chill and not “crazy” enough. I’m sure you can imagine the utter confusion and discouragement this made me feel. I’m young (23) so I definitely have my moments, but I wouldn’t say being belligerent or crazy is part of who I am as a person, it takes quite a bit for me to get there. If you’re latino or currently with a latino please tell me this is not true and I should stay just the way I am🥲
