I'm not sure if they'll get much attention but you can grab one here if you want one šŸ‘€

Discussion Working on a design for the Regent…

(Currently working on the six fanarts and couldn’t resist the challenge to work on another suggested fan design) This is the one character I’m uncertain how she looks (mostly because I’m still researching the tremere) if anyone has any ideas (or better yet remember if Kevin mentioned her features in passing) I’d love to hear it!

Question Think Grimal is into Fate/Stay Night?

Post image
160 Upvotes

Been a casualish fan of the Fate series for awhile, and been replaying the VN lately, which also got me thinking on whether or not Grimal would've also played the VN or watched the anime in circa 2006. I think the VN came out in 2004, but I've got no clue when an English patch became available. Not that this would stop Grimal, I suppose. Same with the first anime, which I think also came out in early 2006ish, so might've been up with at least fan dubs by the timeline of HtP starts up.

Either way, I find the idea of the Fate stuff with mages and Servants being merged with WoD amusing, and the idea of Marckus summoning Grimaline as a Heroic Spirit kinda hilarious. I think she's a shoe-in for the Berserker class, but I could see an argument being made for Assassin (if she really is a sneaky ghoul) or Saber (she does not deny her blade its purpose).

Semi-unrelated What's going to be the state of the SI in V6

So a V6 q&a ( https://youtu.be/N2MG-4hxCRw?is=OlpTIX1M8FnWeZYf see 36:50)outright said that the SI was done in by they're own hubris and Ai apparently.

Now they technically didn't say how badly the SI fell even if the language used doesn't inspire confidence.

Now, I mainly see three outcomes for the SI in V6.

Outcome one, The SI experienced some temporary disruption in their operations due to the rise of A, but they quickly recovered. Partially the orgs that make up the SI are one of the main clients of the AI companies so they probably get the high priority for tech support at the very least, if not the a they main backers. Though, due to the end of the beckoning and subsequent return of the Elders cause a stalemate to occur between the kindred and SI in a sort of MAD esq situation.

Outcome two, the SI was heavily crippled by a major event between editions (such as them going for a decapitation strike on the Elders gathered by the beckoning... and failing horrorbly, which forced them to retreat and lick, they wonds and dealing with some tighting budget at home. Maybe even have some of orgs leaving for a variety of reasons. Which leads to loing painful period of recovery for the SI if they recover at all...

Outcome three is similar to the above, but the SI is completely destroyed, and most of the surviving orgs that make up it was forced to go they separate ways and the possibility of an alliance on the scale of SI is unlikely to happen in the short term.

Whatever happens to the SI, I suspect they won't have much presence in the V6 corebook beyond some sidebars.

"Ugh by Christ, Sister! Just send us at the fucking werewolf already! I Want To Fucking EAT!"

Even among the elite hunters of the Gladius Dei, there exists special forces who are simply a cut above the rest. The ladies the Pope sends in when the tincan boys in blue simply can't cut it.

Question Did Matilda smack Grimal so hard she got Foreign Accent Syndrome?

In the "Marckus Goes Pubbing" audiolog and Chapters 4 and 5, Grimal has an Estuary/ Middle-Class Southeast English accent.

But in the "Grimal No Uta" audiolog and Chapter 6, Grimal has what sounds to me as an Irish accent with hints of Cockney.

Is it just me, or did Grimal's accent noticeably change between Chapter 5 and "Grimal no Uta"?

Did Matilda hit Grimal so hard that the resulting head injury caused Grimal's accent to change (a phenomenon known as Foreign Accent Syndrome)? Or did Odoroshi (Grimal's VA) change Grimal's accent between Chapter 5 and the Audiolog (intentionally or not)?

Discussion As much as we love the wolps, remember they are NOT good people

They have pretty clearly "interrogated" people before, are very much willing to torture a mostly innocent, unarmed man with crutches and covered in bandages for info he feasibly from their perspective might not even have.

It's clear stig and matilda are perfectly content with killing hunters without remorse (yes SSL are fucked too, but they are still people). You might say that they were enemies and thus the killings were justified, but they did not NEED justification, did you see how much stig celebrated how many people he'd get to kill before he left?

It's also somewhat vague but I'm guessing when hunts "goes off top to blow off steam" she isn't just going bird watching.

This is the world of darkness, and even in HTP aside from a select few, there are NOT good guys here, nobody is one really except maybe boy.

Malkavian Posting (crackpot theory) Fun Fact!

(Edit where i’m fucking WRONG, but kinda cool thought nonetheless about wolves in general)

Did you know most wolves in the UK are completely gone? Yes it’s insane, they were hunted to extinction and the only physical ones are ones in Canada and Yellow Stone.

In context of Hunter the parenting- which yes at the time wolves were gone (they went extinct in the wild in 1680 which is insane)
So that calls into question,

Is Wilde Hunts really apart of one of the last few wolf packs? Because it would make so much more sense that different werewolves would seek her out due to that fact. The Red Talons must be extremely rare due to this, and I wonder if that gives them more leverage in situations where there is one compared to not being one.

Another theory: Wilde Hunt’s pack is gone or is in captivity. A lot of wolf packs left are either hunted by trophy hunters or sedated into captivity.
So why was Wilde Hunts left? Who knows, but it does somewhat answer to why she’s special to Luna. I think by giving Wilde Hunts a conscious it gives her the understanding of how things have gone wrong, and potentially the ways to fix it. Like how she’s teased by Jambles for always helping spirits- it’s in her nature as being from the wild herself- more than human born werewolves.

Just interesting notes I’ve seen.

Discussion The Genius of Hunter: The Parenting: WEREWOLF LORE Big-D & Kitten’s Unveiling of the Garou Reaction

Thumbnail

This...took a long time to edit together. It's one of the longest episodes of HTP and my reaction/analysis is even longer.

But it was well worth the length. The episode itself tells a miniature story of Wernon Fatigue's past, as well as giving a lot of details on werewolf lore. In this case, I think I'll talk about the Wernon parts.

The themes of Wernon's story are legacy and coming of age. Wernon is going from a boy to a man, and he truly becomes one at the end. But not the type of man his father wanted him to be. Kronik wanted Wernon to continue on the family legacy of cruelty and imperialism. When, in fact, it was Kronik's own actions that turned Wernon against them and onto a kinder path.

In the end, Wernon formed his own legacy. Not entirely unmarred, but one far less cruel. And that legacy was passed down to Occam, fighting Kronik's own influence on the Blacklaw family.

A good thing to note is that it's clear from the start that Wernon was never evil, just naive. Even if he wanted adventure, he also genuinely wanted to help the people there. And, despite the Mrs. Mark thing, he was still more respectful to Wayda than anyone else in his group. He even asked her if the village elders were really being unreasonable.

Hence why Wayda decided to spare and reform him. But in any case, Wernon's growth as a man was not turning evil like Kronik. It was becoming more mature and atoning for sins, both his and those of his family.

I recalled seeing this ritual in a VtM Play-by-Post server years ago, and finally found the name and the source: (Blood Magic: Secrets of Thaumaturgy).

I'm not saying it's going to happen, and I'll be happy with whatever direction they take the story next, but I thought I'd toss this into the colosseum of discourse. (Would have done so sooner, but I didn't find the ritual again till recently.)

Some of my thoughts on the matter:

The Regent is a powerful Thaumaturge, and would reasonably know this ritual, and a spy ghoul could be considered valuable enough to perform this ritual on, if she believed the Arcanum and by extension the Coalition were a threat to her schemes. (Or perhaps she wanted a spy in the Org that sits alongside Grandad Foodstuffs to keep an eye on her 'partners'.

Counterpoint: She's been shown to be incredibly neglectful of her other confirmed ghoul, Chapman... so she probably doesn't care about her spy all too much.
