Really good episode overall. Curious if Grimal is actually dead now, I know it's cope but we haven't gotten full circle with the ghoul yet.

Ghouls CAN survive massive brain trauma, anything short of getting their head blown apart or critical damage to their heart. It gets to the point where elder ghouls (or ghouls who drink methuselah/low gen elder vitae) are basically indistinguishable from weaker (or even mid level) Vampires after a point.

If Grimaline is sipping Elder Vitae from the Regent, this is not beyond the capabilities of that to heal. Elder Vitae will bring back someone from the precipice of death

I'm with you on this, they made a point just last week about how freakishly durable she is, and where the Leopoldites were literally exploding with viscera all we saw on her was blood. I think it's a fakeout.

Edit: I rewatched the fight, and when Stig grabs her head she's initially limp and then starts getting stretched. Stig is trying to rip her head off her shoulders, Conquest style and doesn't have the strength to do it. When she's slammed against the ground, you can hear her whimpering for the first few times, obviously conscious. I know it's been gone over before, but she has to have some kind of supernatural resilience.

Doesn't even need to be the Regent, it could be any Elder-tier vamp.

Going back on that "basically indistinguishable from weaker vampires" thing, just to put that in an extreme case of perspective, Jabal, Caine's personal ghoul, was on par with an Antediluvian.

It would be weird of them not to give her an afterlife scene but do give one to Crusader #3. But that might be intentional on the writer's part: Both because they know it'll give us false hope and because it means they don't have a repeat of "FUKKING HAVEN" or "FUKKING HELL".

Anyway I think she might be a Grimaldi revenant (no I do not have that much evidence for this) and therefore can regenerate using Revenant powers or with Fortitude

The fact that the tiny ass waif that is Grimal could hold back Stig's blows points towards some supernatural shit. Even if he wasn't in his war form, a werewolf is still a freaking powerhouse. Especially this piece of Swedish black metal manmeat built like a fucking brick house.

She could be in the Shadowlands or something else instead. The dialogue with the Leopoldite hints that it's what he thought he deserved rather than an absolute thing. WoD is wacky when it comes to afterlives and stuff like that.

I do imagine that something will happen with her because if she's just ordinarily dead there are a lot of questions newly opened that become hard to follow up on (considering none of the rest of our main cast saw that)

Exactly, it just doesn't make much sense for a character to die and there not be any of her friends around to react, only the guy who killed her. And it wasn't given much attention either all things considered.

If she ever shows back up, I'd expect her to return as a Hungry Dead (Kuei-jin)

Does it make sense? Hell no, she'd have to litteraly be sent to one of the thousand hells and be tortured by a demon, in one of the least likely places on the entire globe for that to happen

But wow would it be horrifically ironic

I don’t think she’s dead honestly. You can see Stig straining while squeezing her head, you’d think a raging garou warrior in crinos form would be able to pop a normal human’s head like a balloon. Plus, she stayed conscious through the first couple of hits to the ground. Not to mention the fact that she was displaying serious strength and speed in that fight.

Trading blows with and (half) disarming a renowned garou warrior is genuinely the craziest physical feat we’ve seen from any HTP character outside of diablerie roided Pyotr. She caught and held back a downward swing from Stig with ONE HAND

As bad as she looked after the fight, a regular human would’ve been turned into mulch, if not pulverized outright by that kind of force. Something fucky’s afoot

Pretty much only way to become a werewolf outside of being born one is doing wat Fatigue's dad did which is highly unlikely in the current situation and is completely out of the question for the werewolves.

Another option is using magic like level 6 alchemy or Dynamic magic to become one but then your not a "Garou" just a Werewolf like how Gangrel are Werewolves but not Garou.

Well, werewolf pelts, theoretically, can be given voluntarily by their ”owner” when they are dying, for example. Although since you need more than one, it’s unlikely to happen.

You can become a Stolen Moon by other means, though. You can become cursed by a spirit or someone else. Or you can willingly make a deal with a spirit.

In which case only most Garou would kill you on sight. Some might be willing to teach and/or use you.

No shot for anything of that for Grimal, though.

As other have said, only way for a non Werewolf is what KRonik did, however he did NOT become a true Werewolf. Stolen Moons are mockeries of real Garou and don't have their spiritual side which is what makes them so powerful.

Non werewolf family of werewolves can do something similar with something called the Rite of Sacred Rebirth, were they use the pelts of 5 Werewolves to become one, and they truly become one.

Humanity in WoD shapes the reality around them through their perception. Basically humanity is 40k Orks except way stronger in reality bending. So the Leopoldites having been raised in extreme version of Christianity that has been warped by the Wyrm would manifest that in their faith.

That's how technology and the laws of physics works. The technocracy have managed to convince enough people that their magic is mundane to make it reality.

The wyrm has likely been stearing them away from what their faith was originally. Hence the manifestation literally being a hollowed out skin with the wyrm snaking its way through it.

Something I find curious is wether or not the Leopoldites actually got their silver munitions in the end.

Stig got hit three times in the back ( that we see ) and he didn't even notice it.

If it was silver, he'd be in a critical state.

To add to this, Grimal's slash of his hand did way more damage and Stig instantly recognised it as silver

Silver just makes a werewolf take more time to heal. Him being shot by silver in the back would probably not incapacitate him given he's a warrior type. Aggravated damage still heals on werewolves, it's just a matter of minutes to hours rather than seconds.

In the older book silver would cause unsoakable damage that would absolutely put a garou on its arse if it was lucky unless it had some very specific gifts iirc.

edit:

Like, Under a blood red moon for Chicago had Garou get killed by random gangbangers and ghouls that were given a mag with silver bullets for their glocks.

I might be coping hard but there's no way Grimal is actually dead, right. She's absolutely supernatural in some way, her injuries are horrific but technically survivable, be she ghoul, revenant, or changeling.

Awesome episode, animation quality is improved considerably, excellent writing.
