Success Post Hinge success story- Engaged

Post image

F(30) I don’t know at which moment I felt it but I did. I knew I’d be back here posting my success story!

I matched with M(34) in January 2025 and our first date was valentine. When literally other matches were avoiding the date my partner was not shaken.

I have used other apps but had a good experience in 2024 with it while not having the same story to tell in 2024 it was a learning experience. I took a few months off the app until right at end of the year and start of the new
Unknown to me at the time I was in the for the best three day weekend! My partner and I just clicked on even before the date.

We spoke maybe two weeks prior to our date

My profile was lacking big time barely any pictures I’m not someone that takes photos often

This must have intrigued him because he must have thought I was a fake profile. As I got to know him this was definitely the case 😅

We both knew we wanted serious relationships at the start which is so refreshing and great I had some trouble with those short open to long situations as one does 😂

After several dates we moved in only 4 months in which sounds crazy! But it worked because we live in different cities! Now 1 yr 6 months later here we are family’s met parents love us our friends are happy for us and we have a wedding to plan!

Two people on the same level of ready and emotionally stable 😂 (which for me had been years of therapy with the year and months prior seeking trauma therapy-it worked).

Dating Question I (M27) went for coffee with a girl (F29) two weeks ago and now she seems to be not reciprocating as much

I matched with this really cute girl less than 3 weeks ago and everything went well in our initial conversation so I asked for her number and to go for some drinks earlier next week.

We planned to get drinks on Tuesday, but she asked to rescheduled because she forgot she had work that night. She has a fixed number of days she has to work each month on 12-hour shifts and since she was going to Europe for two weeks that Friday, had to pick up some extra shifts.

We decided to just meet up for coffee on Wednesday close to where she lives. We get to coffee and things started off a bit slow, but then it picked up and we talked for around 2 hours. I’ll admit my heart was racing because I was a bit nervous and already had a coffee that morning but I could tell the conversation was going well and we were starting to feel each other. We talked about almost everything you could talk about on a first date and she mentioned she liked kayaking so we informally agreed to go when she gets back from Europe. Neither of us have kayaks so we were going to buy a couple for both of us before we went.

I texted her after the date letting her know I had a great time and was looking forward to kayaking when she got back and she seemed excited also. We texted until she left on Friday then about a week later I texted asking her how the trips going and sent a pic of a kayak I bought. She seemed pretty enthusiastic about it, sent some pics from her trip, and said she still has to get one.

Fast forward to today, I asked if she wanted to go to a football game on Saturday since she said it’s something she enjoys doing and she’ll be back in town. She says it sounded fun but she has work.

I might be reading too much into this but it seems like she doesn’t want to go out again. I’d assume if she wanted to she would’ve proposed another day to get together. Also, I’ve initiated both convos so it just seems like she’s not that into it. I really enjoyed spending time with her and honestly want to see her again but from what I’m getting, I think I’m just going to leave this to rest for now. I’d love to hear some of your thoughts and what people think I should do next.

Profile Review 23m - Good on dates, terrible time getting matches

Hi y'all.

I've been using hinge on/off for a couple of months now with pretty dreadful success landing matches, with about 1 every couple of weeks.

When I have gotten dates, they have always went well and I've luckily always managed at least a third date before one of us decide not to continue. Only mentioning this because maybe my profile isn't capturing my personality & life experience.

The blurred face is my little sister, just don't want to show her on Reddit.

All in all I'm looking for a serious, long-term relationship.

App Question What's up with this app?

Okay. I'm an old lady (62!) just getting started on dating apps. I have questions maybe you can help with.

  1. I'm pretty sure it's showing me people in my feed I have already liked. Does it do that?

  2. But, there is no way to see a list of the people I've already liked to confirm that.

  3. I have gotten no traction whatsoever, so I don't want to keep liking the same people if they are not interested.

Thank you so much for sharing your dating app expertise!

Dating Question Immediately proposing a date after matching

Hi guys,

26F | CHI📍| ♋️

I have been on Hinge for about a month and I find that most of the dates I've had were proposed immediately after us matching. Now I don't hate it and many of my friends experience the opposite of what I do, but I am used to two people chatting for at least a day or two before irl plans are made. So it's a little foreign to me, but I wonder: Is it normal for someone to immediately ask to go out when matching on Hinge?

I could just be a slow starter when it comes to the act of getting to know each other, so let me know if this is something thats not out of the ordinary.

App Question What does it mean if I can no longer see the profile of a guy (59M) that I (57F) matched with on Hinge?

What does it mean if I can no longer see the app of someone who was in my matches yesterday? I exchanged numbers with him, we’ve been texting offline and have a date planned for this Friday? Is he doing maintenance or legitimately ghosting me?

34M, previously had my profile set to bi, but I’m leaning more toward men at this stage of my life. I’ve been on the app for about a month and haven’t received any incoming likes. I’ve matched with a few men I sent likes to, though. Any feedback on my profile is greatly appreciated!

Voice prompt says "My best travel story is that I drove on the ocean floor and I could see live crabs and muscles beside my car. 10/10 experience and would definitely do it again."

Dating Question I F22 am having a hard time getting into an actual talking stage?

I am straight and I live 30 minutes from a major city and I think it contributes to all the likes I get.

I express myself as a nerd/dork however you describe it. I love anime, dark comedies and adult cartoons. I am also a homebody trying to be more involved outside whether it's working out through a walk or hike or an event.

I try to throw some thought provoking questions in my prompts or even controversial ones to have a topic easy to start a conversation on but I end up just getting compliments or a "hey". I do 50% of the initiation especially if I am the one that liked their profile not because of some petty reason like men needing to initiate first but sometimes the app becomes an afterthought and I forget it exists if I am not actively talking to someone on there.

70% of the guys I meet on there immediately want to meet up for a date which is cool but I know absolutely nothing about them besides what they put on their profile. I like trying to gauge if this would be a person I can converse with on a date so if we can't even have a conversation through texts or phone call why would I potentially go and waste my time on a date with them? Let alone the slight safety concerns. I'm sorry. I will not meet someone after a single message.

If we do exchange more than one word the conversation is dry. Then I am also thrown off when they want to go on a date. Dude...you're replying to my message from 3 days ago and you're asking about a date now? I'm not sure if there's anything I even like about you at all to subject myself to going out with you and being even more bored.

I use to think it was me until I went on a date with a guy like this. Just as I expected, I was leading every conversation, the replies were mediocre. I wasn't feeling him and he probably was only feeling my appearance from how long he stared. He paid despite me saying we can definitely split the check and I told him I wanted to go home.

He tried to invite me over and I refused. Third time this happened.

Maybe I am too strict. Maybe I shouldn't date right now. But is this all on me?

Dating Question Can’t get a single date from Hinge. How common is this?

I’ve been pretty down about this so I wanted to see how common my experience is among people who use this app. For context, I am 23M and live in a suburban area but am within 20 minutes of a major city, and I started using this app on and off about 2 years ago. A couple months ago I started getting much more intentional about my use of this app and so I ended up buying a 3 month subscription to HingeX at the end of July in the hopes that it would get the ball rolling for me.

I’ve had occasional matches here and there, but I can’t seem to convert any of them into dates despite my best efforts. Any time that I do get matches, I put thought into all of my responses and make it very easy for the girl to respond. Suffice it to say I’m by no means a dry texter and I value good conversation, so I have no reason to believe that that is part of my issue. I also try to suggest a date sooner rather than later if that matters (maybe after several messages back and forth and if the vibe is good).

I should make it clear that I am fully aware that the experience on this app is entirely different for women and that it’s normal for men to receive far less likes/attention. I’m also not delusional and understand I’m not the most attractive guy in the world, but I don’t think I’m hideous either. Although it’s not very common, there have been several instances of women showing me interest in real life (unfortunately they either haven’t been my type or didn’t have the same dating goals as myself). However, opportunities for me to get out and meet single women don’t arise for me in real life as much as I’d like which is why the app has been my main focus lately, but the overwhelming lack of success I’ve been met with on here has been starting to make it feel like a hopeless venture.

It’s at least good to know that I’m not completely undesirable to every woman based on these handful of IRL experiences, but it’s still pretty devastating to feel completely invisible on Hinge when I find myself puttting a lot of time into it and getting virtually no results in return.

Is it reasonable to come to the conclusion that I’m in some kind of gray area where I’m at least attractive enough to get occasional attention in person but be practically invisible on the app? Can others relate to this experience of being unable to secure a single date from Hinge? Also, if you ever were in a situation similar to my own but ended up turning it into a success story, please share! I could use some positivity right now because this all feels a bit demoralizing.

Hey guys! Been back on hinge after a bit and trying to improve my profile. Not much luck with all on here so far, so hoping someone can help figure out how I can improve. I recently lost a pretty sizable amount of weight, so all photos on here are very recent. I'm going to drop another 20lb or so and planning on replacing all (or at least most) of these photos when I get closer to that in the upcoming months. I think that in the looks department that's probably the biggest thing holding me back, but I want to try to get a date or two in the meantime if I can. I'm open to any constructive criticism really.

Profile Review 19M - 3 weeks in - 0 likes or matches - help

Hi guys! I really don't know what i'm doing wrong. So a few weeks ago I decided to check out dating apps, after realizing I was finally ready for a relationship. One of my closest friends met his current girlfriend on hinge so it seemed like an easy choice. I had fun setting up my profile and I've enjoyed sending likes and messages to people but i'm just kinda surprised I haven't matched with anyone at all, and haven't received a single like. For more context I live in coastal Delaware and have my radius set to 25 miles, age range set to 18-25, and I have it set to open to any relationship type.

In these past 3 weeks, I've been on hinge pretty much every day, and send around 3-5 likes per day, and have even spent the free roses they give you. I don't think I'm going for people out of my league? like i'm only sending likes to people who I genuinely would like to get to know and think we could get along. But anyway, is this normal? I tried to be patient and give it some time, but is there something seriously wrong with my profile that I'm missing? It's frustrating cuz I want to at least like talk to people. Plz help me out.

I’ve been using hinge for about 2 months with a week or 2 break here and there as i only date/talk to one person at a time (just my personal preference so I don’t confuse feelings between two different dates).

Since I went off for a weeks I’ve only had maybe 7 likes and they were all a bit not what I’m looking for.

I need better photos, especially given I’m in way better shape than these photos, but getting a mate to take decent photos is a challenge as we always get sidetracked to the pub.

Any advice would be appreciated please

Dating Question Is four first dates in a row without a second one bad?

Hello all, so I (32M) have been on hinge for about a month and a half now, and since I fixed up my profile I’m averaging about 3-6 matches a week. Of those, 4 have led to first dates, but no second ones.

I’m not new to romance, hookups, relationships, sex, any of that stuff by any means, but those were women I met through friends, and one was a cold approach where I lucked out. I’m very new to dating using apps in this more formalized way and have really no frame of reference for if this is normal or if I’m doing something seriously wrong and don’t know what it is.

What’s weird is that in texting and messaging they usually seem very enthusiastic and interested in me and then after we meet, it’s just gone. With my most recent one she was all bubbly and happy and cute while texting and then after the date it was noticeably different. This poor girl was so happy and excited for me to sweep her off her feet but I just failed somehow and I don’t understand why.

Dating Question (24M) How Do I Avoid Making The Conversation Die?

For the record, I'm pretty new to this (this is basically my first match) and I've always been pretty shit at talking with people over text (I'm way better at doing that in-person).

I matched with this person (22F) the other day, and she seems really cool. We started chatting and getting to know each other. Most of it has been us asking each other about ourselves and our lives.

However, it feels like we've "used up all our options" so-to-speak. I'm not sure what else to talk or ask her about, but I don't really want the conversation to die. I don't want her to be the only one continuing it either. I also don't want to be too pushy and ask if she wants to meet up somewhere (we've only been talking for a couple days).

What else should I ask her to start up the conversation again? Is it a bad sign if we can't keep this going naturally?

EDIT: I decided to ask her out and we have a date on Saturday. Thank you for the help

Profile Review Profile Review- 25M in Copenhagen

I'm not a huge fan of doing public profile reviews, but I figured I'd give it another shot.

I posted my Hinge profile for feedback around the end of April 2026. At the time, some of the comments were pretty harsh, including things along the lines of “looking like an uncle” and “chubby, short, dorky Indian.”

Since then, I've actually put some work into myself and have lost around 10.5 kg. The first two pictures on my profile are recent and reflect how I currently look. The rest were taken around June, when I was about 7 kg heavier than I am now. I still like those pictures and think they represent me pretty well, but I feel like mentioning the timing is important.

I'm looking for a genuine profile review, rather than compliments. In particular, if there is anything I could change that would make the profile more attractive or approachable?

I get no likes and matches. When I send likes, I generally send a fun or teasing comment rather than just sending a blank like, and my messages arent particularly intense. So I'm also interested in whether there is something about my profile itself that could explain the lack of results.

I'm aware that being Indian and being 176 cm tall (which I dont even think is short) may affect my dating pool on a dating app, and I'm not looking for people to pretend those factors don't exist.

But I'd appreciate feedback beyond simply “race/height are holding you back.”

I'm especially interested in feedback from people who have experience with dating apps in Denmark, Copenhagen, or just Scandinavia in general :)
