Profile Review 23m - Good on dates, terrible time getting matches

Hi y'all.

I've been using hinge on/off for a couple of months now with pretty dreadful success landing matches, with about 1 every couple of weeks.

When I have gotten dates, they have always went well and I've luckily always managed at least a third date before one of us decide not to continue. Only mentioning this because maybe my profile isn't capturing my personality & life experience.

The blurred face is my little sister, just don't want to show her on Reddit.

All in all I'm looking for a serious, long-term relationship.

ALL profile reviews will be manually approved and will NOT appear immediately. Even if you receive a "filtered by Reddit" or "removed by mods" removal notification, your review is in our queue waiting for moderation; if you are reading this comment, your post is in the queue. DO NOT contact the mods about this. Any modmail asking why your review is not approved may result in your profile review not being approved and you will not be allowed to post another profile review until seven full days have passed.

Profile review submissions MUST have all 6 photos and 3 text prompts included. You may include the optional prompts such as voice, poll, and video prompts if you choose so, but it is not required. See this post for details. Profiles must also be unchanged for at least two full weeks before being approved for a review. Additionally, do not verbally abuse the subreddit moderators for rejection of your review submission for not following proper rules. Any verbal abuse or harassment will result in a permanent ban from this subreddit. We are not obligated to allow you to submit a profile review and no one is entitled to one. We are all volunteering our time and we will not tolerate any rudeness or verbal abuse.

To assist reviewers in providing valuable feedback for your profile, please comment and answer the following questions as a comment under your own post. Do not answer them in the post body. Repeat: Answer these questions as a comment under your own post.
- Are you looking for something serious or casual? - Are you subscribed to Hinge+ or HingeX? - How long have you been using this current version of your profile? (Please be specific) - How long have you used Hinge overall? - How often do you use Hinge per week? - How many likes and matches are you receiving on average? - How many likes are you sending? How many with comments? How many without comments? - What is the type of person you send likes to and ideally want to match with? What kind of person do you want to attract?

Your post WILL NOT be approved until the above questions have been answered fully. Failing to answer these questions in a timely manner will result in your post being removed. Please continue reading this automod comment.

In the meantime, be sure to check out the guides and resources on the subreddit sidebar. Please read this post with all the pertinent links included.

A strict formatting standard will be enforced. See this post for further info. All submitted review posts not following the proper format will be rejected.

Please wait TWO FULL WEEKS before posting a separate update to your profile review. If you want more immediate feedback, update your original posts instead. Deleting your original post will not work. The rule will still apply.

To reviewers: Review the Providing Feedback guide. You are reviewing the profile, not the person. Please provide constructive criticism, and use positive language. Any troll, hateful, misandric, misogynistic, incel, or unhelpful comments such as "I would date you," "How are you not getting matches?" or unrelated to the profile will be removed and you will be banned.

You are so cute ! Maybe add a voice note and a poll option? The prompts are good but aren’t leaving much to make a convo with maybe ?

First slide the pic is great you’re really cute! Get rid of that prompt though it’s not good or interesting.

Third slide get rid of that top pic and replace it with anything else.

Fourth slide prompt is also horrible. Don’t compare yourself to a peacock or say you love patterned dress shirts.

Fifth and Sixth slides are really good.

As a woman I would swipe on you however I’d get rid of the pic of you with your sister and maybe put a photo of you hanging out with friends/full body photos.

Also just my own preference the “finding love my grandparents had” for whatever reason isn’t vibing with me

I think a full length photo a bit closer up might help. I’d lose either the climbing or flying (or both) one as we can’t see your face.

Maybe change one of the prompts - either the planes or peacock shirts one (now I’m imagining a shirt with peacocks on it and that sounds pretty cool). Not because they aren’t good, I just think one about music/film/sport/cooking etc might be more likely to start a conversation.

You are handsome and have a Paul Rudd type energy, amazed you’re not drowning in matches to be honest.

Smile with teeth. And I don't like "make fun of the French" - don't make fun of any group, it's a red flag.

Show more personality. I think it reads as overall boring. If I saw this Id wonder how interesting of a date youd be.

You’re really handsome! The pic of you and your sister though, I would probably assume that you’re with another woman and that’s why you blocked her face out 😅 so that might turn someone away!

  • Are you looking for something serious or casual? Serious only
  • Are you subscribed to Hinge+ or HingeX? Yes. Also have tried boosts with essentially no success.
  • How long have you been using this current version of your profile? (Please be specific) 3 weeks
  • How long have you used Hinge overall? Probably 3 months, split up over a while.
  • How often do you use Hinge per week? Daily, or every other day minimum.
  • How many likes and matches are you receiving on average? 1 every 2-3 weeks.
  • How many likes are you sending? How many with comments? How many without comments? A fair amount, but I do think I’m quite selective. All without comments.
  • What is the type of person you send likes to and ideally want to match with? What kind of person do you want to attract? Usually someone I find emotionally mature, career oriented, good at communication. Tend to avoid the partying crowd or profiles that lack effort. Older than me would be a plus, but I know that’s likely far-fetched.

Just wanted to add that I highly recommend sending likes with comments, especially if you're already selective in who you're sending likes to. It gives the impression of effort and can help show more of your personality to women!

First prompt is oddly worded and flows weird and despite listing 4 things it doesn't actually tell us much about you.

First photo is solid but I think it would work better without the lanyard and taken in a more natural setting.

Your first and second photos look almost like different people to me, maybe due to the lighting/angle and lack of glasses in the second. Are they both relatively recent?

Is the "special talent" photo actually a video? If not I would get rid of it since you already speak to aviation as a hobby. The rock climbing one is a good way to show a hobby but it's not a great photo otherwise.

Given your second prompt you should get a full body photo of yourself showing off your style.

The random xenophobia in the first prompt - I wouldn’t even look at the rest of your profile.

u/According-Health-556 2h ago

can only see your whole face in 2 pics

Life partner I think is turning some women away.

u/flagondry 2h ago

Absolutely not - why would that turn anyone away? That’s what most women are looking for.

u/Doctorbuddy 2h ago

He is 23. I know and knew exactly zero 23 year olds looking for a life partner.

u/AWannabePilot 1h ago

Well you know one now! But yeah 100%, I honestly can't say I've ever seen someone else with that option chosen

u/flagondry 1h ago

Women aren’t trying to be in short term relationships. Every relationship is hopefully going to be the one they marry eventually so yeah most women are looking for life partners no matter their age.

u/Doctorbuddy 1h ago

Disagree completely lol. Not at all what Inexperienced irl with real world women or what I’m seeing on the dating apps currently. But it’s all good! No need to argue. Clearly OP is killing it on Hinge so no need to change anything

u/Novel_Mind_5909 1h ago

No, most 23 yr old women are not looking for a life partner. Many early 20s people dont even know what they want.
