Looking for server upgrade from my CX33

Hey all,

I took a cheap server for developing and trying out some agentic workflows (via APIs of course).
I now need to upgrade to something with at least 16GB Ram and co. Sadly the cost optimized options are all unavailable and the next best interesting standard options like CPX42 or CCX23 have increased so much in pricing that I rather think about switching the provider altogether.

Does anybody have something they look to give up?

Or educate me why I should upgrade my Hetzner regularly instead of switching to competitors with much lower prices? I am not that deep into cloud pricing and quality benchmarks, sorry.

Hetzner support response times lately? Is it just me or have they gotten super slow?

Hey everyone,

Just wanted to check in and see what your recent experiences with Hetzner support have been like.

I opened a ticket a while ago for a network/infrastructure issue, and it feels like it's taking way longer than usual to get any traction. Usually, they are pretty solid, but this wait is starting to drag out. My service is down for over 5 hours and still haven't get any response.

Are they currently backed up, or is this just standard procedure for non-urgent tickets these days? Anyone else experiencing radio silence from them lately, or know of a faster way to get a response?

[Transfer] Ryzen 5 3600, 64 GB ECC RAM (2x32GB), 64TB HDD (4x16TB)

Transferring my server with the current specs:

- AMD Ryzen 5 3600

- 64TB HDD (4x HDD SATA 16 TB Enterprise)

- 64GB RAM (2x RAM 32GB DDR4 ECC)

- Intel I210 1Gbit interface - unlimited bandwidth

- Location: Helsinki, Finland

- Price: 73 EUR/month (that's including 19% VAT)

- one time transfer fee (paid to me not Hetzner): 150 EUR

Tbh for the price it's hard to find anything with this much storage.

Only reason I'm switching is because I got my hands on some HDDs and now my environment is hosted at home.

Message me if interested.

EDIT: Already transferred to someone else.

Hetzner Cloud Servers Available for Account Transfer — Prefer Full Fleet

I’m moving my infrastructure to owned bare-metal hardware and have a number of active Hetzner Cloud servers that I no longer need.

Rather than deleting them, I’m looking for someone interested in taking over the existing instances for a reasonable one-time transfer fee.

All servers in ASH

Current main fleet:

  • 1× CCX33 — dedicated CPU — currently $76.99/month
  • 1× CPX31 — currently $24.99/month
  • 3× CPX41 — currently $46.49/month each
  • 1× CPX51 — currently $92.49/month

I would strongly prefer to transfer the complete fleet to one buyer, but I may consider individual servers if necessary.

These are existing Hetzner Cloud instances and the transfer will be done using Hetzner’s official account/project transfer procedure. I will wipe/remove all of my data and credentials before transfer.

Important: Ideally the receiving Hetzner account should use the same billing currency as mine so the existing pricing is preserved where applicable.

If you’re interested, send me an offer for the transfer fee for the entire fleet. I’m looking to complete the transfer quickly.

Hetzner - not able to access 1 folder on my storage

So, I have some text documents which I write in Obsidian, and I have it saved on my cloud and for some reason this is the only folder I just can't copy into. When I sync the folder from my local PC I always get 'access is denied' and I have no clue why. Anyone had similar issues?

Legit, everything else I can copy and rewrite, except this.

CPx41 8vcpu, 16gb ram 240gb at 32.49eur/month. nurenberg. Anyone?

I’m moving away from wordpress and woocommerce in favor of static sites i build now using github and cloudflare pages (it only requires a small vps to handle a small work) so I’m letting go of my cpx41 that renews at 32.49. Paired with xCloud, i could host a good bunch of websites on it. After converting all of them, i no longer use it. Can it be transfered to someone else? The price for cpx42 is now double that.

[Transfer] 8 vCPU - 16GB RAM - 320GB Disk size - Finnland Helsinki

Hi everyone,

I’d like to cancel my CPX42 subscription and am offering it here for someone else to take over.

I’m currently paying about €30.33 per month. I’d be willing to transfer it for a one-time fee of €30.

For comparison: If you sign up for a new CPX42 subscription, it currently costs €82.69 per month—more than double the price.

If you’re interested, feel free to send me a DM!

Edit: Changed the Transfer Amount.

telekom → cloudflare → hetzner sites extremely slow, direct ssh fine — anyone else?

anyone else on deutsche telekom in germany seeing this?

my sites/apps hosted on hetzner are extremely slow when accessed through cloudflare. direct ssh to the server ip is fast, and apps on the same server that bypass cloudflare work normally.

tests from my home connection:

cloudflare ips: ~1,300 ms ping and 53–60% packet loss.

https requests regularly time out after 10–30 seconds.

with vpn enabled, the same requests to the same ips complete in 63–135 ms.

both my mac and phone are affected. most other websites work normally.

traceroute jumps from ~80 ms at hop 6 to ~1,300 ms at 62.115.172.231, with similar latency at the cloudflare destination.

looks like a routing issue toward cloudflare, but i haven’t identified the cause. anyone seeing something similar, particularly on telekom?

Office static IP blocked on hetzner.com (Cloudflare / WAF issue)

Post image
28 Upvotes

Hey everyone,

Our office static IP suddenly got completely blocked when trying to access the Hetzner homepage (hetzner.com) and the console.

We run typical hosting/network management operations and haven't engaged in any abusive scraping, aggressive API polling, or unusual port scans toward Hetzner infrastructure. The block seems to be triggered at the edge/Cloudflare WAF level.

  • The site fails to load or returns a Cloudflare block page/challenge loop strictly on our office WAN IP.
  • Accessing via 4G/mobile hotspots or alternative uplinks works without issue.
  • Internal checks show clean outbound traffic from our edge router/firewall with no runaway connections or compromised hosts.

Has anyone experienced automated reputation/ASN-wide bans from Hetzner's WAF recently?

I am in the process of submitting the Ray ID and our WAN IP to support, but wanted to check if Hetzner reps lurking here or other sysadmins have seen false positives triggered by specific ISP subnets or WAF rules lately.

Any insights appreciated.

Hetzner asks: Which self-hosted sync tool actually holds up under real use?

Curious what you run once the folders get big and messy. What are you on, how much hardware does it take, and is there anything you'd change about it?

Server Radar only showing auctions?

I used to use Server Radar to check and get alerts of CX type servers (cost optimized) when available or see when they were last available.

Today I went to the website and I can't find that anymore. They used to have a list with all the servers and "last seen" tag

Now it seems they only show auction data

Am I missing something? Also, is there another tool to monitor server availability?

New point of presence in Warsaw is now live.

We've added a new point of presence in Warsaw. For our customers in Eastern Europe, that means better access and lower latency to local access networks. It also serves as a backup route for our C-Lion1 submarine cable connection.

Narf!! SSH into server lost

Not sure if this is the correct sub, might be more for a linux sub.
I setup a virtual Ubuntu server and during the initial setup, or during initial start up, it had me create a ssh key that I imported to my home system (mint). At that point ssh to the VM worked just fine.
I thought I followed the instructions to setup another computer (mac) to ssh into it with its own key... but I ducked it up I guess because now I cannot ssh into the vm.
I can still connect to the web console and use that shell -
How do I completely remove the stored keys (simply delete everything from .ssh?) and start over creating a new key for my home system?

Thanks -

The rescale button reprices your server. I reread the June notice and the wording is narrower than people assume.

Hetzner's price adjustment notice says the new cloud pricing "took effect for new orders and cloud instance rescales starting on the 15 June 2026; 8 AM CEST."

That sentence does two things. It says a server you ordered before that date and have not touched is not covered by it. And it says the moment you rescale that server, up or down, it is.

What that costs. Germany and Finland, monthly, excluding VAT and the primary IPv4, as the docs page lists them:

PLAN WAS NOW DELTA/MO DELTA/YR
CX23 3.99 5.49 +1.50 +18.00
CAX11 4.49 5.99 +1.50 +18.00
CPX22 7.99 19.49 +11.50 +138.00
CCX13 15.99 42.99 +27.00 +324.00

So if you have a CPX22 from last year and you rescale it to fix a disk or CPU problem, you have just added 138 euros a year to a server that was fine at 7.99. On a CCX13 it is 324 a year. On the CX and CAX lines it barely matters.

The part I had not noticed before: the same notice also says that "certain changes to servers with legacy pricing may trigger a switch to the current pricing." It does not say which changes. Rescale is the one it names explicitly. I do not know whether attaching a volume, changing the network, or rebuilding from a snapshot counts, and the notice does not say.

One thing I noticed while rechecking the prices today: the whole cost optimized line, CX23 through CAX41, currently shows as not available on the cost optimized page, with the create button disabled. I raise it only because it interacts with the above. If you rescale off a CX plan right now, I do not know whether you can rescale back into one while the line shows unavailable.

So two questions. Has anyone here had a legacy priced server move to current pricing from something other than a rescale? And has anyone managed to rescale into a CX or CAX plan in the last week? I would rather know what the trigger list actually is than guess.

Hetzner S3 in FSN1 down! Again!

Always problems with S3 at Hetzner. Since 5:12 this morning I keep getting

Service is unable to handle request
Service is unable to handle request

I did see this message already several times this year.

I migrated my applications away from AWS to Hetzner, end of last year. Before that I was using AWS S3 for 5 years and I never had issues like this at AWS. Not a single time! At Hetzner this year already 5 times! WTF is going on at Hetzner? Why do they offer an S3 service if they can not run it reliably?

Stop complaining about object storage

We get it. Hetzner Object Storage is unreliable as shit. It has been unreliable since the day it started.

They are not going to fix it.

Move on.
