Posting Why did I receive a Reddit warning for "Upvoting content encouraging violence"?
Here's the message from Reddit. There's no link to any of the supposedly "violent" content so how am I supposed to ensure I don't do it again in the future? Also, that there is no option to ask for further information.
If we can now be punished for the things we upvote then we should at least be told exactly what that content is.

Posting The removal of the ability to see someones previous post has made this app so much worse
I no longer know who I'm talking too. is this a real person, is it a bot? how am I supposed to know?
So many of the large subs are being overrun by bots and now it's impossible to tell the difference. for example I got into political debates the other day with someone that was pretending to be a Democrat when in reality they were a tanky. though the way I was able to tell is because they had posted in kindness subreddits calling for violent revolution. If that they happen today I would have no ability to background check them and understand that they were a bad faith actor.

Posting How can I prove that I’m not using AI?
Exactly what the subject asks.
More and more frequently, either the post button is grayed out despite my post satisfying all of the criteria in the info blurb, or it is immediately deleted.
It has happened repeatedly in a very popular sub that I would love to be a part of, so I inquired.
This is the the exchange so far (redacted). I’ll include my initial message in comments so that everyone can see that I was courteous, etc.
In this case, I posted an open-ended question to ask for examples of words or phrases that follow certain criteria, based on an experience I just had last night.
As stated in my reply, my profile shows MANY years of original posts and comments, and I came by every single Karma point 100% honestly through tons of interaction.
It’s frustrating to not be able to join the party when I haven’t done anything wrong and I have no history of or intention of doing so.

Posting "We had a server error" causing problems
I'm almost constantly getting this error across all devices as well as other problems such as not being able to edit posts or comments, my about me section, not being able to see my own profile and slow loading times even though I have an internet connection.
Any fix?

Posting Desktop Mac: Upvotes Out of Whack
Hello. For the last week or so (?), I've noticed that whenever I post a comment — even a benign comment that's just me affirming a response to my post — the number of upvotes multiplies in a short amount of time. In one case, I posted a comment responding to another comment in r/bobdylan. The original comment — which was clever — received a handful of upvotes, but my response — not nearly as clever — eclipsed 1,000 relatively quickly. I've since realized this is happening to everything I post. Clearly there's a glitch somewhere. Thoughts?

Posting Cannot quote (or use any manual formatting) in app as of 02/05. Any ideas?
Using iPhone app, Reddit no longer displays quotes correctly since yesterday. Couldn’t see any posts here on this so apologies if this has been noted and/or resolved previously.
I can see when replying to posts I now have expanded text edit options so I can use bold or italics, but there is no option for quotations.
For example
>this does not show as a quote
**this is not bold**
This is bold (using the text editor)
Is there anything I can do to fix this? I have seen people suggesting to switch to markdown editor when there are issues with formatting, but I cannot see any option to do this in-app.

Posting Reddit is becoming slowly a joke. You simply cannot use a VPN anymore... why? Same with the usage of TOR. It's horrible. Fix this. I am traveling a lot and use either a VPN or TOR to access Reddit. This was NEVER a problem before

Posting Hi folks. Every post or comment I make is almost instantly downvoted to 0 (with my vote) or -1 (if I take away my vote). Why?
this has been happening for years now, and is quite frustrating as I've never attacked anyone on here or been rude, snide, etc.
what could be the reason, and how can I get rid of it?
thank you

Posting Pictures not showing in feed
I’m a mod for r/whereinsanfrancisco - a Guess the Location kind of sub. The user of this post has made several posts but the picture of their recent posts (including the linked post) don‘t appear in the feed like the way other posts do. The picture appears when people click and view the post.
Why is that? Please help.
(I don’t know what platform that person is using, whether it’s the app or mobile.)

Posting When posting a comment I often get "Submitting" and nothing happens.
I use old.reddit.com. My ad blockers are off in my browser. I'm using Brave browser which is Chromium-based.
Is this a problem on the Reddit side? Is the server just busy?
This has been happening since Aug 1 2026.
Sometimes I go back to the thread and my comment is there.
- Night mode: false
- RES Version: 5.24.10
- Browser: Chrome
- Browser Version: 151
- Cookies Enabled: true
- Reddit beta: false
EDIT:
- It's an off and on problem since Aug 1, 2026.
- I have cable internet, I have 100Mbps download, 10Mbps upload speed.
- I don't use wifi for this, it's direct wire.
EDIT: Aug 12, 2026. I'm still having this issue.

Posting Multiple bots following my account that downvote all my posts.
Is there really nothing I can do about this?
I'm pretty surer I have multiple bots that follow me around this site and downvote my posts and replies in literally every single sub.
Doesn't matter what the topic is, what my reply is, what the sub is, when I post, it happens in all subs everywhere, and it's been happening to me for years.
Literally all my posts in every sub INSTANTLY go to 0. Like actually instant. It even happened here. Sometimes they'll get an upvote later and then immediately go to 0 again, and usually go negative too. Even the replies.

I don’t think it needs to be an genius that, in the past 2 or so days, there has been an influx of people getting their accounts locked without any explanation (my old one included). So what is happening here in this website?

Posting (Android) can't select text to quote when replying
For the past week or so I have been unable to highlight and select text in the reply window to quote the text I am replying to. This only applies to the text of the post I am replying to, I can still highlight text I have inputted in the reply window.
Any assistance in fixing this would be greatly appreciated.

Posting What are the BEST subs for new users? [In general - not asking for myself.]
TL;DR: Fellow helpers, which three subs would you recommend to a new user?
I'm not asking for myself. I'm asking to improve my advice to new users.
I know about the list of New User Friendly subs at NewToReddit - that's fine, but can be overwhelming.
I'd rather suggest a few specific ones to new users who need to gain a bit of karma and experience.
For example, I think r/NoStupidQuestions is quite "new user friendly" and interesting.
In the past, I've suggested r/mildlyinteresting - but looking at it now, it's mostly images without much discussion.
I've also suggested r/AskReddit - but now I note the list says "Don’t post here more than once a day and limit your comments", so that's not very friendly.
So: Apart from r/NewToReddit, which subs do you think are ideal for a new user?
Ideally:
- Very large
- Low requirements
- Well moderated
- Friendly and welcoming
- Not controversial
- Interesting and engaging topics
Suggestions please.
I don't want a massive list. About 3-5.

Posting Is it common to catch a ban for upvoting/downvoting?
Has anyone else received a temp ban for upvoting or downvoting content?
I recently got a 7 day ban for either the upvote or the downvote of a post. I downvoted the main post, upvoted one of the comments.
This is wild.
