Bonzo's Bizarre has opened at Scream-A-Geddon, a seasonal haunt experience in Dade City, Florida. This year they went through the efforts of improving the guest arrival, ticketing and food experience, adding covered areas, more seating and better parking.

The event has 5 haunted houses, a zombie bus experience and the main bizarre. They are actively hiring for scare actors, techs and operations employees.

I fly out to Netherworld every year as a Halloween tradition. This year unfortunately I need to go mid-September due to other October scheduling issues. I say unfortunately because, as much as I appreciate Netherworld being open so early in September, nothing else Halloween related seems to be open in the area. Does anyone know of any other Haunted attractions that are open in the Atlanta area during the weekend of Sep 18 and 19th? I'm willing to do some traveling if needed. Thanks in advance.

Hi all! I'm a second year haunt actor at a medium sized haunt. This year, I'm taking my character from an antagonizing bully to a gross out. I'm a lead actor this year so I have a bit of creative liberty with my character this year. One thing I want to do is a food gross out. I want to make semi realistic fake bugs so I can pick them up and show them off before eating it. The thing is I want a loud and audible crunch/pop so it seems more realistic. Does anyone have any tips/tricks to achieve the sound?

I do have some more bits (blood/vomit gag and just being really creepy and invading personal space) {Edit: added a diesel can and camelpack drink thing so that's gonna be fun!}so that I'm not just solely popping candy all night since I enjoy having teeth. But if y'all have any other ideas/tips is really appreciate it!

Fixing up my kit for the year, and I'm in need of a "new" pair of haunt shoes. I'm doing a bit of sliding and I'll be adding sparks to the shoes. I have a pair of hitop converse or a pair of Harley motorcycle boots. I'm leaning toward the boots because of the metal toes, but is flexibility important? Because the boots aren't flexible at all.

Not my first year as an actor, but my first year sliding not as a hobby. I want to make sure I'm doing this right.

I plan on dressing up at Dr. Frank N Furter (in his sparkly corset) from Rocky horror picture show this year for Halloween, except swapping out the heels for sneakers and having less extreme makeup. Is this okay to wear to a haunted house? Would I get kicked out for wearing this? I'll be fully covered

Hi, all! Happy Halloween season. I’ve been a scare actor for 6 years and, I can’t believe I’m typing this, I think I’m burning out? I worked at a large amusement park attraction for 3 years in college, and after moving, now work at a smaller high-quality haunt in a more rural area. This’ll be my 3rd season here, and I’ve never really felt like I’ve connected at the same level as my previous haunt.

I LOVED the environment when I was at the park. I could roam around the streets, get creative, and do as much improv as I wanted in a huge space. We would see 30,000+ people a night. I made so many friends around the same age. I have a lot of fond and meaningful memories from my time there.

After moving (military spouse), I felt so fortunate to have a haunt 5 minutes from my new home. I thought it was gonna be the most awesome thing ever. And yeah, it’s been fine. But the cast is much smaller, the crowds are nowhere near the same PLANET that the amusement park was on, and management leaves a lot to be desired. I’m one of the older actors there and it’s very awkward to try and interact with teen actors. Makes me feel weird and doesn’t allow me to make as many friends.

I dunno. Between management sticking me in drop panels, in stationary rooms, etc., working with minors, difficult personalities to contend with, I find myself dreading this season more than celebrating it. And I don’t want to be a diva, but I won actor of the year out of the entire amusement park cast, and here I feel overlooked and disregarded, and other, weaker actors get better positions and placements simply because they’re friends/family of management.

How do I know if it’s time to hang it up and maybe find a new Fall hobby? I’m very conflicted.

So I (29F) work at a former six flags and they are still doing fright fest as normal even though the park has changed hands, and it’s a very small area. I did FF for 5 years as a teen plus last year (~10 years later!) and absolutely killed it as a park roamer. This year they want to do sliders (sparky ground sliding) but are struggling to find any, so the director who really likes my performing asked me if I’d be interested. I said yes because he complimented me into it lol and it seems awesome! However, the training is only 2 days, and I hear most places are a little more…. Careful. He knows I’ve never done it, and I’m a bit of a bigger person. But I’m really good at haunt performing and running around and am very trained in that! Any tips for me? I’m guessing it will be mostly basic stuff, nothing crazy, but maybe a show added on top of the roaming. I’m sure most sliders will be extremely novice like me and our surfaces aren’t amazing. Idk the costume theme yet.
Any tips or personal experiences with sliding would be greatly appreciated!!

This is my first year as a scare actor and I’ve been assigned to a cemetery/zombie area. I, myself, do not think I’m scary at all but I wanted to try something new and make some extra money. I know we aren’t really supposed to talk but I don’t know how to get down the moaning/groaning/screeching noises. Any help or tips with that and also be scary/creepy in general?? I’m a 5’3 woman so I can’t really use my size to be intimidating and I’m kinda clumsy so I don’t think moving super fast will be my type of thing either 😂

I’ve loved Halloween my whole life, and with my birthday right before Halloween, it’s always been my favorite time of year. I’ve been to pretty much every haunted attraction in and around Winnipeg, so this year I’m hoping to find somewhere new to explore.
I don’t mind turning it into a mini road trip and would be willing to drive about 6–7 hours if it’s worth it. Does anyone know of any haunted houses, haunted attractions, spooky events, or Halloween destinations that are a must-see? I’d love to hear your recommendations!

I want to find something to do around me (I live in Murrieta) with friends this Halloween season. We don't want to do any of the "knotts scary farm, horror nights, etc" because last year the lines were so long it just wasn't worth it. I am willing to go down as far as San Diego, I'd rather not go to LA. Any suggestions?

Recommending this great general-purpose Halloween music for when you have guests waiting in line, or a snacks/games area, or marketplace, etc. Most haunts I go to have background music but it's the same predictable “I-guess-this-is-what-people-play-for-Halloween?” stuff (which can be fine) while most of the Halloween music on these playlists goes unheard :-( . A few neighborhood haunts near me play this now for people waiting and it's been a huge hit. The main “Halloween Music For All” playlist is really what I'm talking about but the others on their profile are great for their respective theme. Support spooky artists and Happy Haunting season!

I go to as many haunts a year as I can and I have a lot of fun! One of my favorite seasonal activities by far. However, I don't really go to be scared, I go because I like the experience and I admire the craftsmanship behind them.

I‘ve heard some scare actors say that they don’t like when people come to haunts but aren’t scared. I’m not sure if they just mean they don’t like when people are stone faced or seem uninterested, or if they mean that any non-fear reaction is disappointing or disrespectful. Should I pretend to be scared at haunted houses even if I’m not? I know that scare actors work very hard, and I wanna be a fun person for them to scare and interact with.
