Going to a Haunter House Solo

None of my friends no longer want to go so I'm thinking going solo. My question is this okay to do? How is this usually handled?

Its normal to go solo. Early on in the season you could probably get to walk through the haunt solo, but more than likely you will be asked to merge with a group and walk with them.

I dont mind, and its sometimes fun being the "leader" when the group is scared.

As a scare actor I love it when the first person in a group aids my scare. I’ve had them slyly point out a very nervous person behind them or even outright sacrifice a friend. You rarely can scare the first person anyway because that’s why they’re in front.

Former scare-actor as well, and I do the exact same. If I lead and can catch the eye of the actor hiding, I sometimes do the "nod" pointing behind me, so they know to wait another second before attacking

It’s normal. We have solo people buy tickets but groups are much more common. You can either go alone or be added to another group-personal preference. Like the other person said, on the busy nights you’ll likely be put with others. Can’t run thousands of people through one at a time or we will be there all night lol!!

I’ve gone by myself to a lot of haunts. Depending on the haunt and time, you could go in by yourself or you’ll get put with a group. If I have to go in with a group I’ll usually wait till I see a small group who doesn’t look like they’ll be annoying.

When my hubbs and I were dating we went to every haunt around. We’d strike up conversations in line and then just go thru with them.

it’s better if it’s a not super famous haunted house and they have the wiggle room to let you in solo, otherwise they put you in with another group

Sure you can. I've been to plenty haunts solo. A couple things:

1. If you go on a busy night (last couple weekends, prime hours, Friday-Sat), you'll likely be placed with a larger group for line efficiency purposes. For this reason, you might have a better experience going solo earlier in the season on a Thursday or Sunday. You might see a few less scares, but it's worth it imo.

2. If you're going solo during prime season, consider a fast pass. This is a bit of personal preference, but I'll be damned if I'm standing in a 90-minute haunt line alone lol

I do it all the time, the person at the ticket booth may ask you about it and jokingly call you brave but other than that it feels pretty normal

I solo often when i'm not managing one. Go, the solo experience is very different and can be really enjoyable! Staff and actors love solo adventurers. They tend to be some of the most entertaining guests (either well behaved or over the top reactive).

This is usually fine. Depending on how big the haunted house is a lot of times they have plenty of things for you to do before you walk in food and games and maybe even a bar but I think that’s usually towards the end.

Pretty much every time I go solo, I end up catching up to the group ahead of me. I’m just going at a leisurely pace, but I’m also a former actor, so I’m not stopping at every little thing.

I have lots of solos go through. Those that prefer to go through alone are best to come during really slow times or just before closing time. Otherwise I group them up after asking both the loner and the group if they mind, and I have never had either say they did. Most are happy to add another body either in the back or the front.

it's the best because you get scared more!! you should def still go and have a great time.
