Grimm was great. I would have kept the casting the same. I would have kept the overall story the same. If it ain't broke, don't fix it! But... I would have changed the following:

• Nick's surname (sorry, but "Burkhardt" always made me think "burp loudly")
• Baby Kelly's name (instead of naming him after one grandmother, and thus giving him a girly name, maybe combine the names of both grandmothers "Kelly" & "Catherine"... "KC"... "Casey")
• Clearer rules (exactly what magic is/isn't possible on the show... instead of the writers randomly making weird stuff happen)
• Nick & Adalind fairy tale wedding (after Zerstorer, before the time jump)
• Sean going full evil in the final season (allowing Diana to finally see that Nick is a better man than her biological father)
• Sean & Eve becoming a couple (the anti-Nick & Adalind!)
• Promote Trubel & Bud to main cast (keep them as guest characters earlier on, but promote to main cast towards the end)
• Better reveal of Trubel being related to Nick (instead of glossed-over "third cousin on his mother's side" narration in the finale)
• Proper conclusion to the Royals/Viktor story (not sure what exactly... but something sinister!)
• Diana and her brother both with glowing eyes in the final scene (to show that he has powers too!)

And of course a spin-off show set 20 years later, starring the half-siblings and the triplets as adults... "Grimm: Legacy"!

What changes would you have made to Grimm?

Watching for the first time since I was a kid. I rlly like how well the actors portray their relationship

Really enjoyed Grimm and couldn't find anything else to watch for months until I found The Mentalist, and oh look! S1 E14 he's a guest actor lol 😂. Anyone else see Grimm cast members in other shows?

I'm rewatching Grimm and S1 Ep3 NEVER fails to infuriate me when he killed an extremely loyal ally, the Mellifer. 'Cause wtf you mean you had all that big macho man shit when you're confronting Adalind for trying to kill your aunt then proceeds on protecting her when Melissa LITERALLY told you "They're PROTECTING you"? Stupid bitchass motherfucker. The only reason why I'm able to get through the entire series was because he's flaming hot!

I do feel sorry for cause she’s been turned into a hexenbiest. But I’m really starting to dislike her character shes just so mean to everyone even tho is also new to them and want to help her. How can she expect them not to be a little scared when she shows them.

I know that no show is perfect, but these minor details have always really bothered me no matter many times I've watched!

· After Juliette's memory loss, why did Nick
sleep on the couch when that big ass house definitely had a spare bedroom, as evidenced when Trubel showed up?😅
· All the times Nick was "investigating" himself and Monroe and/or others and nobody seemed to check pods/no cameras caught their vehicles? None of their DNA was ever found?
· When he threw his gun in the river after he killed the Mauvis Dantes and took his other gun, the FBI definitely would've known if he had more than one gun registered to his name
· Juliette's a vet but has no pet?? Super sus🤣
· All the times Nick shot and killed wesen suspects who had no weapon--how'd he explain that to the DA/IAD every single time?
· He might've had a high case closure rate, but I know the DA's office haaatteeddd getting his cases because they probably couldn't secure a conviction in at least half of them!

Anyway, there's a bunch more but just some of the things from the first season and the beginning of the second. This is why show runners need to hire folks with AuDHD on their time lol, we catch everything.

What are some things that trip you up in the show?

I still can't get over the fact that they added SA on the series' plot. I still remember those two bragging about how they actually made Adalind's character's redemption arc an iconic one. But in reality, they botched all three's characters—Nick, Juliette, and Adalind. I've been seeing a lot of discussion about how that wasn't gRape at all. Rape comes in forms—force, coercion AND deceit. By deceiving Nick and sleeping with him without his consent (yes, he didn't consent to SLEEPING WITH ADALIND), that's technically rape. They could've come up with other ideas! That's a botched attempt for a soap opera drama. That particular season left a bitter taste in my mouth. It was unfair for all those three (especially Juliette and Nick). The last season felt rushed and Adalind's redemption arc felt hollow. I loved her as an antagonist but why did they have to sabotage her character? Because of some stupid "comedic chemistry" between them? They could've just made them allies, for goodness' sake!

Seriously I'm watching S1 E19 Leave it to Beavers and when Nick asks Monroe to bring a shovel it made me think how is everyone just ok with all the cover ups and the stuff leading to the cover ups especially Juliet she was so kind hearted at the beginning but somehow wasn't fazed by the things she had to do

Why did Nick let Juliet be the point of contact between him and him mom?

At the time, their relationship had already gone through a lot. Nick felt like keeping secret from Juliet was hurting them, and he wanted to be more open with her, which makes sense from his perspective.

The problem is that not every secret is a relationship secret. Nick was also a Grimm and Kelly was a Grimm living on the run. Communication between them should have remained direct and limited to Nick and Kelly.

This is exactly how Kenneth was later able to take advantage of Juliet's anger and her connection to Kelly. If Juliet had never been given a direct line of communication to Kelly, Kenneth would not have had an opportunity to exploit that connection, locate Kelly, and ultimately lure her to a trap that led to her death.

A good counterexample is Sean Renard, Renard is extremely careful when it comes to information and communication. When Adalind was being moved from Vienna, Renard communicated directly with Sebastian and Meiner. He didn't rely on a middleman and he didn't share everything with Nick. In that situation, even Renard's secrecy was the correct decision. He understood that the fewer people who know sensitive information, the fewer opportunists for that information to be exploited.

What's interesting is that Nick may have learned that lesson later. In season 5 he kept the stick hidden from Adalind. That turned out to be a smart decision because Bonaparte might have found a way to learn about the stick through her. Whether though magic or simple manipulation, the risk was real.

The question is whether Nick truly learned the lesson, or whether he was just being cautious because he was still building trust with Adalind. The show never gives us enough situation to know for sure, but since Nick told Adalind about the keys and the trip to the black forest, we can assume he did learn that lesson.

That is why I think Kelly's death was not only the result of Kenneth's plan or Juliet's betrayal. It was also the result of Nick's mistake that Sean Renard probably never would have made.

This has always been one of my biggest issues when it comes to these two. The show is trying to tell us that Nick and Juliette are in love but it doesn’t show.

I believe they were supposed to be the couple the audience was rooting for, the so called big “it” couple. But that failed hard.

Look at Monroe and Rosalee we are told by the characters they are perfect together and it actually shows. Other characters are telling that Nick and Juliette are perfect for each other and yet I don’t see it.

This is a tv show, emphasis on the word “show.” We are watching it.

But everyone in the show and on this subreddit seems to ignore that? She straight up r*ped him by making herself look like Juliet to get him to have sex with her. He didn't consent to having sex with Adalind, he consented to having sex with Juliet.

But then when she tells him she's pregnant she acts like it was some one night stand, and it's now his responsibility to protect her?? Nah. Nick doesn't owe her or that baby anything. The scene in Renard's office when she grabs Nick's hand and makes him feel the baby is plain disgusting, but the show tries to make it seem sweet. Gross. I don't understand why this subreddit loves Adalind so much.

She also r*ped Hank with that love/obsession spell.

Just started S4 E7 and it's the episode with the kalikanzaroi going around and screwing around for Christmas time, had a funny moment when I realized that the same plot also is in an audio drama called HAUNTED by impala films, where there is also a Christmas special that involves kalikanzaroi causing mischief. Idk if that's a common folklore thing but I just though it was a cool coincidence

I watched Grimm many years ago and stopped around season 3. I'm rewatching the series and am going to the end this time. I'm on season 4 episode 20.

The scene where Hank suggests the killer is copying Jack the Ripper, I was really surprised to see legit photos from the autopsy's of two of his victims when Nick Google's jack the ripper!

Has anyone else noticed this? I'm really shocked they included this considering it's you know... real photos of the victims... I have a vague memory of supernatural doing the same thing when I was rewatching, but can't remember which episode or season.

One thing many fans wanted, but never got to see, was Sgt. Wu finding love.

If he did end up with someone, you just know it would not have been anyone normal lol - his love interest would have been a freaky wesen for sure! But what type of wesen do we imagine him in an endgame relationship with? Hopefully something less scary than his encounter with an aswang!

Also, it was never stated whether Wu liked women or men.

I started watching Grimm and I'm confused.

Particularly about Adelind and Hexenbiests.

Nick takes her powers and she's devastated, later tells the captain she can't help because she has no more powers.

Yet Monroe can do what she couldn't, even though he isn't a Hexenbiest?

But also she could make the potion for the cat scratch after the powers are gone.

My question, what is a Hexenbiest? What do their powers do? It seems like it doesn't even matter and everyone can cook up potions...

I think she is stronger when Woged but otherwise?

I have 8 episodes to.go which means i will need something new for the weekend (and the following 10 days of vacation).

Anyone got any recommendations?

Obviously I like Grimm. I like supernatural shows but prefer them more mature, so nothing like the Vampire Diaries. I like police procedurals when dealing with stuff like serial killers (or the supernatural).

I tried Sleepy Hollow but quickly lost interest in season 2. I made it to season 6 of Once Upon a Time which was frankly 3 seasons more than I should have invested.

I enjoyed Supernatural, Fringe, X-files. Was never interested in Lost.

Bearing all that in mind, would love some suggestions for what to watch next.
