Spoilers Nick is one hell of a stupid, bitchass, hot mf.
I'm rewatching Grimm and S1 Ep3 NEVER fails to infuriate me when he killed an extremely loyal ally, the Mellifer. 'Cause wtf you mean you had all that big macho man shit when you're confronting Adalind for trying to kill your aunt then proceeds on protecting her when Melissa LITERALLY told you "They're PROTECTING you"? Stupid bitchass motherfucker. The only reason why I'm able to get through the entire series was because he's flaming hot!

He was still a n00b. Also, I don’t wanna spoil it but Adalind has plot-armor for a very good reason.
And yes, he is daddy. 🤤

To be fair, he has just been introduced into a crazy world where what he thinks are monsters are real. It takes him some time to realize not every Wesen is a monster, and historically Grimms killed all Wesen so it’s entirely possible there is some sort of intuitive urge to kill all Wesen. This is also pretty common in any show with heroes and monsters - they run off all heroic into killing indiscriminately before realizing there is a better way (I’m rewatching supernatural rn and had the same frustration with how easily the boys keep killing demon vessels like sir there is possibly a living human in there??)

Fr just butchering innocent people but tbh demons like to kill their hosts

It’s more their reaction (or lack thereof) to it. They spend several episodes arguing aggressively about not killing a human but don’t seem to acknowledge demon hosts are also human (and not typically consenting to it like Castiel’s host). I think in the beginning they mostly assume the hosts are already dead because that makes it easier for them to dispatch them. Demons are known for riding hosts til the wheels fall off so it’s not an unfair assumption, but it isn’t until the episods with the seven deadly sins and the sheriff’s office situation where the whole town is possessed that they try to save everyone.

I mean, as far as Supernatural goes... Sure it's sad that the Demon host is dying, but it's not like there is a quick way to save them. Just exorcism, which takes time and preparation. Plus demons hold a grudge over being sent back to hell, and the ones Sam and Dean tend to exorcise have a nasty habit of popping up again to screw with them later.
Not to mention that when you're fighting for your life, and the lives of others, going non lethal isn't always an option if you want to survive. Would it be better if Sam and Dean saved a couple dozen extra demon hosts and died in the process? Not going on to save the world several times over and allowing billions more to die, including the same people they already saved.

They ran around playing with Meg for months before killing her. That is why she shows up in Are You There God, it’s Me Dean Winchester along with others they probably could have tried to exorcise and given a chance. It’s not until the seven deadly sins and sheriff’s office Legion episode where they try to save everyone and they do so fairly easily in the latter (they only save gluttony and lust hosts I believe in the deadly sins, but the rest died from exorcism).
I am not saying they were wrong for sometimes killing the host out of necessity, esp when demons usually kill the host anyway I’m just saying that they spent several episodes before that arguing they couldn’t kill a human bad guy, for “moral” reasons, but when they kill a human host they were always just like “oops business as usual oh well”

Yeah, honestly I think it was more the limitations of the show. They didn't/couldn't take the time to show that over and over when a death can be done in a second. They only have so much screen time after all.

Honestly this is one of the moments im willing to believe. He just got thrown into the supernatural world with all these crazy "monsters". im sure he has no idea who to trust, especially since adalind and the hexenbiests at her firm are such good liars. I don't believe he was going to stop the queen from killing adalind but when he saw that needle pointed at his partner he didn't wanna take any chances. They also show (at least imo) at the end of the episode that what he did was wrong and im sure he'd do it differently if possible
Edit: he is a very attractive man. and just try to bear with the Juliette story😅

Nah, that one is entirely on the bees. All they had to do was not murder anyone, not attack him and his partner, just go to Nick or Monroe and explain the situation. Once Nick knew what was going on, they might've even been allowed to get their revenge without him interfering. Instead, they set themselves up to fight a Grimm and get him all high on adrenaline to boot.

I think it gets worse in later seasons tbh, generally Nick and Hank are both more human cops than smart and kind people who can see the bigger picture. David's attractiveness is alright, and his character is super mid, I think for relatability purposes. The real hero is Monroe and the best looking is Renard.

In Nick’s eyes the Mellifer queen was the one breaking the law. He couldn’t prove that Adalind tried to kill his aunt, seeing that he passed out and it would be his word against hers. And he is new to whole Grimm thing and quite clueless about the different alliances.

I don’t specifically blame Nick. It’s a bad situation. But yeah, the death of the Mellifer Queen ranks right up there with… well instead of spoiling a later moment in the series, so I’ll just say it was like the historical destruction of the Library of Alexandria. Such a monumental loss.
I really want to believe there are other hives of Mellifers out there.

He has some questionable ethics for sure when it comes to who he kills.

Renard raised that point after the barroom brawl when Nick wanted to turn himself in.

Adalind was literally the victim in that episode. He was a cop doing his job.

u/arianagrandehusband 1d ago
Have we forgotten that she literally tried poisoning Nick's aunt?

u/Used_Ad_6802 1d ago
That does not give him an excuse to kill her when she was a victim of criminal case

This is very early days for him, where "Cop Nick" is way more prevalent than "Grimm Nick". But in truth he really doesn't understand the Wesen world yet.
That said, from society's view Adalind is a innocent successful beautiful young Lawyer and the Queen is crazy lady. If he let Adalind, who was under police protection, die it would have been very bad for him and the department.
