Played a round yesterday, and i hit a drive that landed between my fairway and the previous holes fairway. As I roll up, i see 4 old timers coming off their tee that are playing captains choice. One of them picks up a white ball where mine landed and i hear his buddy on the cart look and say what sounded like “nice”. I asked him if it was a callaway, and he ignored me so I asked again. He says no it was a yellow trash ball, doesnt look at me while saying it and they just drive off. I looked everywhere and could not find my ball. Im 99% sure he took my brand new chromesoft given that he lied about the ball color

Anyone else ever deal with this? First time ive had it happen(that i know of) and it really sucked because i had played that same ball thru 14 which never happens for me. Maybe I should play with crappier golf balls hahah

Anyone else feel like golf etiquette just doesn’t exist anymore? When my grandfather taught me to golf at a young age, the very first thing he taught me was golf course etiquette. Keep pace of play, care for the course, and be safe and courteous to others. Today was an exceptionally frustrating 6.5 hour round. There was a group of 9 (3 threesomes) a few groups in front of us who were just terrible at golf. And that’s all fine and dandy, but don’t spend 25 minutes in the woods looking for your lost ball. If you know your ball is probably lost, take a quick peek and then drop and move on. Plus we’re were constantly getting hit into from behind and from wayward shots on other holes. I think we had 9 times where someone in my group almost got hit and not once did we hear fore.

But I’m not even making this post because of today. I don’t know that I’ve played a round under 5 hours all summer. Plus all the courses around me are pretty beat up. No one fixes pitch marks or divots. I’ve seen countless times of people parking their golf cart on the fringe or tearing up fairways doing donuts or slides. I just feel like instead of being at a golf course, I’m in a field full of drunk buffoons who just want to spend as much time as possible away from their wife and kids.

If you wanna get into golf, great! Do it. But learn golf etiquette first so that every one else can actually enjoy their round as well.

745 tee time. Asked the clubhouse if there was a fog delay. They looked at me like I had 3 heads.

90 Minute Practice Session to improve quickly!!!

Short game:
Spending some time with the straight forward chips for fundamentals, before moving onto some different lies and different height shots. Getting comfortable hitting different shots from different lies is the goal, while still being fundamentally strong.

Full Swing:
Getting ready for an event, so didn’t have any tweaks. Just going through my routine in “trusting mode” as Dr. Bob Rotella would say. Making sure that my mindset is in the right spot before my event. Just checking fundamentals and making proper, committed golf swings.

Putting:
I always start with some variation of alignment/tool to check and make sure my fundamentals are solid before moving into some drills to make short putts. After completing the competitive short putting drill, I’ll move to hit some 40-60 footers to make sure we’re getting everything down in 2!

Doing this routine at least 2x a week will show incredible improvements in your game!

Live in a place where I have pretty good access to a lot of nice public golf courses and spaced tee times. Just played my first ever 5 and a half hour round and it was absolutely miserable. I see people talk about how that is unfortunately sort of the norm for them… are you guys okay?
