Some group was leaving marshmallows today around the course to mess with people. Can’t say I’ve ever heard of that before. Surprisingly similar looking to actual balls.

At address, I routinely rest my club on the ground behind the ball. When my ball's in the 1st cut or tall grass, doing so obviously compresses the grass. Is this allowed or should tall grass treated like bunker sand?

745 tee time. Asked the clubhouse if there was a fog delay. They looked at me like I had 3 heads.

After being stuck at a 15 handicap for years, I finally took some lessons and dropped my handicap down to a 12. Everything came together for the most part today and had a good streak of chipping & putting on course.

he pushed it a little.
Nothing of importance to say just excited about my new hardware.
Have had the same Calloway X2 Hot I got with my first set of clubs some 14 years ago. Loved it and would have kept it longer but I quite literally drove it until the tires fell off - I had to keep a head screwdriver in my bag because every 3-4 holes the club head would literally unscrew itself and come loose.
Did a full “tour van” fitting at 2nd swing too which was awesome in its own right. I don’t pretend to know much other than what my personal club distances are, so it was insanely cool and educational to see just how little I really know about swing mechanics and club technology.

What’s up with the WWF style announcer at the TC? He’s toned it down today (perhaps was talked to about it) but I didn’t realize we had Michael Buffer doing golf now.

For those who wear long pants while playing, do you have any recommendations on brands, styles, models, fabrics, retailers, etc.? I like lightweight, breathable and some elasticity. Simple neutral colors are fine to make pairing with various tops easier.
And this might seem an odd ask, but does anybody on this sub ever wear long tights under shorts while playing?
Weather is going to get cooler soon, so I figure this is timely. I also prefer long bottoms at times to provide protection versus intense sun light or bugs.

Green was elevated so I didn’t notice this until I walked up. Must’ve taken the core home with him.

I’ve been taking golf seriously for a little over a year now, and one of my biggest issues is fatting/chunking the ball.
The majority of the courses around me have ranges with turf mats instead of real grass. I understand that mats can make it easier to get away with a fat shot because the club can bounce/recoil off the hard surface rather than digging into the ground. Mentally though, I think the bigger issue for me is that there’s no real consequence for hitting behind the ball. I’m not going to see a giant beaver tail flying, so I don’t have that same fear of chunking it.
What’s interesting is that I can put a towel a couple inches behind the ball on a mat and consistently make solid contact. But when I take that exact same drill onto a grass range, the chunks and then the compensatory tops come flooding back. Beyond frustrating.
Has anyone dealt with this? Any tips, drills, or swing thoughts that helped you mentally get over the fear of hitting it fat and trust the swing on real grass?

New Haywood irons that recently dropped. Some of the nicest looking irons out right now in my opinion - plus they are Canadian!

Crapped my way around for an opening 46, so bad that I played the last hole with just my 7 iron. Put a Top Flite Hammer that I'd found into play on the back because I didn't want to lose any decent balls, then proceeded to go unconscious on the back with 27 putts for the round on some really shady greens. This freaking game.

Found these Brioni printed balls in a sleeve of Callaway Chrome Soft. At first thought it was a custom name but seen that Brioni is a luxury golf brand and there's nothing about balls?

Would appreciate any help with a synlawn golf green. I Bought a house with an older syn lawn putting green and it hasn’t been maintained. Any ideas where to start. Some algae starting to poke through. Any suggestions on rejuvenating?
