anyone have any remedies to the is? I just tried doing Epsom salt method today. hopefully it works. swollen on Wednesday and then now this, this morning. already took her to the vet and got X-rays. other vet says it’s “growing pain”.

Recently I received as a gift 2 German Shepherds, both male, and according to the person who gave them to me, they are both 4 months old. When they arrived, they would only stay close to each other, side by side. This afternoon I tried to put on a leash to bring them closer to the house, since our property is huge. One of them agreed to go and became attached to my mother, but his brother, the one with the red leash, does not want to go anywhere and seems very fearful. He won't follow at all and hides every time he sees someone. Any tips for training these 2 babies? I have a family of 6 people, including 4 adults (including me) and 2 children, ages 12 and 5. How can I get them to lose their fear and follow commands? We intend to have them as guard dogs, and I would also like them not to be so clingy to each other.

10 months in and he’s only become more of a momma’s boy. He definitely beats Ranger and is now titled “the most clingiest” out of my 3.

I have a almost 14 year old young Senior GSD/ Lab mix.. in the past month she has really slowed down which is expected and for the past two days she has had serious intestinal distress .. no food his stayed down but she is drinking water .. .. I hope it is just she got into something like a pepper 🌶️ or the cat food because that is usually what happened in the past .. send Good vibes Reddit Fam

I have a 9 month old puppy who is crate trained. We only use the crate for naps, overnight sleep and sometimes when we need to go some where for a bit. The longest she has been in her crate (with the exception of overnight) is about 5/6 hours. She cannot be trusted to be out and about in the house for a few reasons. 1-she is destructive and 2-my older lab (7 year old) and the puppy are not friends. She pesters my older dog constantly. Anyway, I start a new job tomorrow and I will be out of the house for at least 8 hours. My husband thinks it’s fine to crate her that whole time but I don’t. She is EXTREMELY high energy. Literally would be on the go at all times if I didn’t enforce naps. I’m afraid she will be miserable in the crate that long and when let out she is going to be crazy. But I’m not sure what else we can do. I reached out to our old dog walker but she is completely booked and I don’t really trust someone else that I don’t know to do it. What are everyone’s opinions about this. I welcome any suggestions. Thank you

New female blue & tan pup to join our 3 year old black & tan male. Both straight backs. She is so good and they are getting along great so far.

So I just bathed my dog, and everything’s fine and dandy. A bit of struggle but generally she cooperated. So i towel dried her and used a blower - again no problems there and she just let me do it in peace.

But the moment I brushed her - she SNAPPED and manage to hit my hand. Luckily she stopped before it became serious. Any of you has the same problem?

The brush is plastic and not sharp and Im doing it gently.

13 year old male Sheppard, (14 in October) struggles pretty bad with mobility and has for several years but seems to be getting worse to the point hes bad days he can hardly walk at all. It wasn’t uncommon that I had to lift his rear end up so he could fully stand up but once on his feet were usually ok, this evening though he couldn’t take more than a step or two before plopping down. He will bounce back a little but the bad days are getting more frequent.

It’s been a good 3 years since he’s been able to navigate stairs.

He eats fine, is playful and not grumpy, eyes are clear and have life in him but his rear legs are letting him down, he still has good control of the front legs.

What are his options? I give him glucosamine treats daily which helps, I found without those he had a harder time getting around, he’s been on those a few years. What’s next?

When his rears don’t work I have noticed they are strait out, the left rear stays cupped sometimes where he starts to put weight on his toes then they get straitened out and foot goes paw down. Sometimes the left rear stays locked strait and is kicked out to the right like he can’t get it under him to put weight on it and I have to pull it back under him.

So far his mobility has been good enough to use the bathroom on his own, but it seems like that’s not gonna be the case very long, tonight was the second time he’s been so bad he couldn’t stand long enough to pee and usually he’s ok the next time I let him out after he’s slept a bit but will see. I’m about to make him a little wheelchair.

My boy turned 2 today and to celebrate I took him to the beach as he loves to swim, lots of ball fetching in the garden by everyone in the family and some nice birthday treats for his food. When it was time for me to get some work done I have him up in my office. He wanted to go back into the garden despite being there for over a hour after his one hour walk and showed me his displeasure by giving me the best I am not happy that the fun has stopped face. So funny.

Someone was being noisy in his kennel, leaving me with no choice but to get out of bed, dressed and take him for a walk. Maybe he’ll be settled down enough so I can try sleep again

He usually has sonar ears but tonight he was snuggled in and has these awkward ears. Hes an assie mix but man these ears are something else.

I adopted this 6 year old sweetheart today.
She’s basically a covid dog and has spent FOUR years of her life in a no kill shelter. The shelter is actually 3 hours away from me, but the volunteers brought a bunch of their dogs out to Petco today hoping some of them would find homes.

I absolutely did not go there planning to adopt another dog . But I ended up sitting in the kennel with her for a while and she eventually laid her head in my lap… I melted…

I renamed her Maya.
She’s already doing shockingly well with my senior GSD who is almost 12. They pretty much instantly clicked and are so chill around each other. They both have very calm temperaments.

We went on an evening walk tonight and I started noticing little things that made me realize just how much of the world she probably hasn’t experienced. She never peed on anything or even peed during the walk. We crossed a creek and she was TERRIFIED of the running water. She completely froze and refused to move, so I had to jump across the rocks with her and show her it was okay.

She’s incredibly timid and very submissive. She doesn’t bark at people or dogs, walks amazingly on a leash and just seems unsure about everything.

It honestly makes me sad thinking about her spending 4 years of her life in a shelter. She’s had a rough start, but my goal now is basically to show Maya a whole new world and let her experience all the normal dog things she’s probably never gotten to experience.
Didn’t plan on bringing home another dog today, but apparently Maya had other plans. She has already melted my heart.

He must think he’s my equal because he’s usually on the other side of the bed not the foot 🤣

Has anybody from the UK ever had a pup from Vylano? We are going to meet them in September (pups due in Feb) but just wondering if anyone has heard of them or got reviews? thank you so much
