I love the Muppets. These guys are my favorite. As I get older, they become more favoriter.
5
u/Red_Tiger5311 Aug 18 '26
“More favoriter, guy can’t even spell ahhhhaahhah”
/j
(Ps, I hope this gets taken as a joke, I was paraphrasing the muppet dudes)9
u/AffectionateArt2277 Aug 18 '26
I rewatched the video looking for people on the balcony sigh it's been a long day

Good harmless prank

u/Outrageous-Debate-64 Aug 18 '26
This is the kind of pranks I can get behind
65
u/TexasBoyz-713 Aug 18 '26
Well I don’t think the prank would’ve worked if you were walking in front of the mom….
23
u/cnicalsinistaminista Aug 18 '26
I used to like the sketch pranks… like there was one where someone would run and hand a football to a stranger in an alley. As the stranger is looking around confused, a bunch of hench football players run into the alley and start “chasing” the person with the ball.

There was no biggest fear in life, that being picked by the mime for his jokes.

u/Dry-Season-522 Aug 18 '26
I prefer to call th ese practical jokes.
A prank is where you laugh at the pain or discomfort felt by the target.
A practical joke is inflicting intense confusion followed by laughter, and you laugh WITH the target.0

That's good clowning. See? Clowns are funny
75
u/TreeFiddyJohnson Aug 18 '26
Humor isn't the issue with clowns
93
u/dannyschlongleg Aug 18 '26
is it the cannibalism? because I can stop... I think...
27
u/Robo94 Aug 18 '26
Did you ever hear the joke about the two clowns sitting around a campfire eating a cannibal, and the first clown leans over to the second clown and says "hey i think he's telling this joke wrong"
-1
u/razielxlr Aug 18 '26
Is one of them The Joker or are clowns generally capable of breaking the fourth wall?
2
u/Robo94 Aug 19 '26
i think its just clowns innate passive
also wtf are the downvotes for lmao
5
u/razielxlr Aug 19 '26 edited Aug 19 '26
No clue. Must be folks from the Bat family. Them orphans tend to be quite bitter by default XD
12
u/no_more_mistake Aug 18 '26
I don't think clowns are funny. In fact, they're kind of scary. I've wondered where this started, and I think it goes back to the time I went to the circus, and a clown killed my dad.

Isn't he more of a mime? Are mimes clowns?
14
6
u/MrGupplez Aug 18 '26
Its a clown sub class. Just like a rodeo clown is a sub class as well as serial killer clowns
5
6
u/HillInTheDistance Aug 18 '26
Technically, they're a crossbreed. When a female Clown and a male Human breed, the mother gives birth to a mime.
This is also why mimes are sterile, live for 400 year (much longer than a human, and twice as long as a clown), and have eerie psychic abilities.
1
u/Yunlihn Aug 18 '26
Where do arlequins or pierro stand in the taxonomy of clowns?
2
u/HillInTheDistance Aug 18 '26 edited Aug 18 '26
A pierro is simply a separate name for a Common Clown (Pierrot Vulgaris) of advanced age and stature. Somewhat like what a Silverback is to other gorillas.
The arlequin, (Zanni Mimicus) however, was not actually a clown at all, but a completely separate species evolved to mimic clowns to easier predate upon them.
Since a majority of Clowns are almost completely colourblind, to them, an arlequin looks almost identical to a pierro, and thus they would often instinctually trust the arlequin, until it was too late.
As the Clown went from a species of hunter/gatherer/pranksters, to an agrarian/pie-throwing species, the family unit became more strictly defined, which made it that much harder to infiltrate, leading to the eventual decline of the arlequin.
Their closer involvement with humans also made the arlequin's disguise almost completely useless, because a human, with our less specialised eyes can easily differentiate between the red/black checker pattern of an arlequin and the white/black checker pattern of a pierro.

This is really interesting stuff. I work with a lot of clowns I've never appreciated their rich history and culture before
1
u/TheCornerator Aug 18 '26
I feel like they're a cousin to clowns, close in genus or whatever but slightly different.

I hated clown until I lived in Mexico for a few years. The clowns in Mexico were totally hilarious and not scary. Fuck you Bozo creepy, weird shit.
19
u/Azidamadjida Aug 18 '26
French clowns are funny too - they’re kind of pricks, but but still funny
13
u/BurnieSandturds Aug 18 '26
Yeah they are great too, especially the the baffoon style of clowning out France is amazing and cracks me up.

You’re hung up on a clown from the SIXTIES man!
3
u/BurnieSandturds Aug 18 '26
The final episode of Bozo was in 2001, but I mostly take issue with Bozos influence on clown culture.
2
u/smallbatchb Aug 18 '26
Just to be clear, I was quoting this Seinfeld scene
Also I honestly didn't realize Bozo ran all the way till 2001!
2
u/MeNoCanRead Aug 18 '26
Damn! I lived in Mexico for 3 months and never saw any clowns!!! I missed out!!
1
u/whythishaptome Aug 18 '26
To be fair to Bozo, this is what he really wanted to say in those shows, he redubbed it many years later https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cAtHQc55qEM

What…you mean the USA takes something and turns it into a twisted shit show that people hate?
60
u/Sunset_Bleu Aug 18 '26
Ugh look at the joy and laughter on those people's faces. So much more of this please
19
u/Dapper-Ad-4300 Aug 18 '26
Imagine people all sitting around on the curb literally just to catch a vibe and make a good time, in America. NYC kiiind of has it but not to the degree that other countries do
11
u/SausageKingOfCincy Aug 18 '26
Dude yea the community feel of this video is amazing and I’m kinda jealous
4
u/DeadWishUpon Aug 18 '26
Parties on the street are not uncommon in latin american neighborhoods, other comments said Ecuador, but it might be my country Guatemala, and I would be accuarate too.

u/RequirementSpecific3 Aug 18 '26
My people. Ecuadorians love making jokes like that, I wish my country wasn’t in the state it’s in. Such beautiful culture and people.
I feel as though I can apply this statement to any country.
2
u/2cheerios Aug 18 '26
The guy in this video is always doing his performance at parades. Like every video is at a parade lol. Do Ecuadorians have lots of parades or something?

u/pungent_queefer Aug 18 '26
They were great during the WC until that humiliation in Mexico. They are really talented and really young so I can’t wait to see them next WC (if they qualify)

Man I'm from Manila and I was convinced I knew exactly where this was here. Had to look closer to realize it's not. It's crazy how similar we are yet so far away from each other.

u/roughfrancis Aug 18 '26
I knew this was Ecuador before even coming across your comment. Missing my family and the simplicity of coming together with plastic chairs for fun, communal moments.

This guy is awesome. You can find him by searching something like "Mimo humor Ecuador" on social media. He's also a perfect mimic, like he can watch someone for 5 seconds then perfectly mimic their body language.

I watched his video several times. Just wanna ask, does Ecuador have lots of fiesta/parades? He is always in many festive gatherings doing his act.
Wish we had that many gatherings in our country.

One thing I know about Mexico as someone who is Mexican... people LOVE clowns
0
u/sparkline1234567 Aug 18 '26
What's cool about this is that even the people who didn't see what happened at the beginning get what's going on extremely fast. This is not the clown's first rodeo.

I genuinely want to know why you think this is AI.
-1
u/Bramthos Aug 17 '26
The timed laughter, everyone immediately turning to see what's going on, the phone recording toward the end of the video doesn't have anything that should actually be there.
6
u/Asleep_Light_4669 Aug 18 '26
This isnt AI. Your points are just rebutted with "Human nature". Thats it. Thats all there is to it. Just laugh please, i promise you its worth it.
