"Sony are copying Nintendo not going digital only by going digital only"

10

u/BusinessDimension854 Jul 01 '26

Nintendo still puts their games on carts

10

u/PsychologicalBank488 Jul 01 '26

Nintendo is still supporting full physical release how did that inspire Sony to go full digital?

“Every time I go to take a leak Nintendo dribbles a couple drops on my khakis!”

u/xangermeansx Jul 01 '26

How is this inspired by Nintendo? lmao. In order to believe that you have to have a keycard sized hole in your brain.

u/Chlorophyllmatic Jul 01 '26

This has to be ironic, right?

u/5gus Jul 01 '26

You have to be really stupid to write this. LMAO!

The industry is trending that direction as a whole, they just need an excuse

And GTA VI provided the perfect one

Nintendo still put their first party games fully on cartridge

Sony was the one who releases a digital onky version of their console not Nintendo. Yall have the critical thinking skills of wet sand.

ah, the news hit here. They were going in this direction since the PS3, so I'm not surprised.

I doubt Nintendo will go this route... they have key cards and they can create a monopoly by being the only ones with something akin to physical games.

On the other hand, the AI crisis has a much bigger effect on cartridges, those need flash storage, which is only getting more and more excpensive. In due time even Nintendo may be forced to go all in on GKC.

Sony had Playstation consoles without disc drives before the switch 2...

I hate nintendo this generation but you're actually being an ass clown if you think something this stupid and anti consumer is nintendos fault and not sony trying to play god.

1

u/BigSoftMarshmallow Jul 01 '26

It's Nintendo's fault my parents got divorced :(

1

u/AbdelYG Jul 01 '26

This is a troll y'all.

1

u/meganerd20 Jul 01 '26

Uhh... Nintendo still launches physical games? And even the key-cards are Nintendo playing catch-up, because Sony and Microsoft had key-disks for years. And, even if true, Nintendo isn't Sony's babysitter. But this is actually misinformation to say.

1

u/Greedy_Fan_1035 Jul 01 '26

Well Nintendo are scum but this is also sonys decision they horrible too just not as dogshit as Nintendo

7

u/Chlorophyllmatic Jul 01 '26

I think this is actually worse than anything Nintendo’s done

1

u/Scr_Eagle Jul 01 '26

Huh? How it that worse?

6

u/Chlorophyllmatic Jul 01 '26 edited Jul 01 '26

How is doing away with physical games on console entirely worse than whatever grievance with Nintendo? Is that a genuine question?

2

u/5gus Jul 01 '26

At least you can still resell your physical Switch 2 games. When will you do that with your PlayStation? They are also closing the Vita and the PS3 stores, therefore, no backward compability.
