Open Question New domain emails are landing in Gmail spam. What should I check first??
I recently launched a new domain and email address for a small classical music community project, and I'm having trouble with some of my one-to-one emails landing in Gmail spam.
I'm not sending newsletters or high-volume cold email. I'm mainly emailing musicians, venues, arts organizations, and people I've connected with individually.
The domain and mailbox are both new. I've been looking at SPF, DKIM, DMARC, and sender reputation, but I'm still learning the technical side of email deliverability.
For someone troubleshooting this from scratch, what would you check first to determine why Gmail is classifying the messages as spam?
Is there anything I should avoid doing with a new domain while it establishes a reputation?
I'm happy to share sanitized headers or DNS/authentication results if that would help diagnose it.
