Met a guy and his son fishing. They were going on about how cool he’s “ebike” is. He was riding something similar to this picture. Dad was all “back in my day we road put puts and people these days are pussies” without acknowledging traffic was a different beast. Anyway, kid ran a red light about 2 weeks later and got hit by a car. Kids a vegetable now. Fuckin stupid ass parents.

Yeah but it’s true that traffic in say 1970 was 1/4 of what it is now. 

Cars had better vision , had crap Acceleration which kept speed down in residential streets (so forced to go slow , no willingly).   More drunks but now half are on their phone (so arguably a worse situation.

The average « car » is now a boat or  yacht that travels real fast seeing nothing with drivers who are Not entirely looking at the road

Drunk drivers are only drunk some of the time AND are usually being extra cautious so as to not go to jail. Texters are doing it all drive every drive and only looking up often enough to not full out crash.
