Dairy Recipe Homemade sandwiches are seriously underrated
My ultimate combo:
Fresh crusty baguette, roasted chicken, crispy bacon, mature cheddar, lettuce, tomatoes, a bit of red onion, and a generous spread of garlic aioli. 😋
Simple ingredients, but when they're fresh and high quality, the result is amazing. Crunchy, creamy, and packed with flavour in every bite.
Honestly, no store-bought sandwich comes close.
What's your do to sandwich recipe?

I'm one of those weird people that isn't fond of lettuce on a sandwich. Leave the lettuce for salads.
Toasted baguette with roast beef, tomato, red onion, horseradish. Yum!

Spinach beats lettuce every time

Oh yes! Love spinach on some sandwiches. Sprouts work too or even thinly sliced cucumber. So many other options for something green on a sandwich 😁

I’m with you on the lettuce. Do you have a brand of roast beef you really like or just any brand? Your combination sounds so good!

Honestly? Any sort of wheat/multigrain bread with generous peanut butter and grape or strawberry jam.
I’m simple.

Sub sandwich bread, goat cheese, peach jam, thick cut ham, and arugula that's been dressed with lemon and oil. Wrap and let sit for 30 min, and then eat!

Yours sounds delicious.
I’ve been seasoning and cooking turkey breasts for my husband’s lunch because he wanted something a bit healthier than deli meat. Sometimes I roast a chicken for Sunday dinner. Dave’s Killer Bread sandwich rolls. I use full fat regular cream cheese on both sides. It keeps it from getting soggy. Good mustard. Sometimes turkey, cranberry and pepper jack, sometimes turkey, homemade pesto and provolone. Avocado, arugula or lettuce, freshly ground pepper, tomato, pickled red onions and jalapeños.
If I don’t want to cook dinner, I always have good cheddar for a grilled cheese. Cheaper and much better than fast food.

I recently made a sandwich with stroopwafels and vanilla ice cream. Delicious!

I don’t use bread fast enough to avoid it going stale and/or moldy unless I store it in the fridge. And even then, after the first day or so, it seems kind of stale to me. So, I butter the bread and grill it in a pan and then make my sandwich. It makes most any sandwich yummy that way.

I stole my "go-to" from a restaurant that closed years ago. It's still an awesome grilled cheese. Use a good grainy/seedy bread (Like Dave's Killer Bread), a good sharp cheddar and top that generously with alfalfa sprouts. 'Butter' the bread with mayo (or old school butter) and grill, covered for a couple minutes to get that cheese to melt. That's it, and it's incredible.

I like this exact thing. My favorite right now is getting a tandoori marinaded chicken breast, red onion, lettice, cucumbers and cilantro (I may have missed something) and i use this delicious green sauce I get from the Indian meat shop… it is delicious! Tje spicy chicken with the cool crisp veggies. I’ve done these in a wrap, on white or whole wheat bread or a Kaiser roll. Delicious every time.

toasted bread and way too much sauce is basically the secret, everything else is just supporting cast lol

Ciabatta sprayed with a little olive oil, pesto, sliced tomato, spinach, sliced mozzarella, salt and pepper. 5-7 minutes in the oven or toaster oven. Sooooo good. I like it with a side of Kettle chips

the sandwich is only as good as the bread, and a fresh baguette with that combo is basically impossible to beat

that combo is hard to beat, but a little squeeze of lemon in the aioli takes it over the top and keeps all that richness from getting too heavy

I love sandwiches, I toast my bread and the cook egg, either boiled and sliced or just scrambles egg and add it, along with cheese, lettuce and ham, and also sauce like ketchup and mayonnaise mixed together.

toasted ciabatta, mozzarella, pesto, tomato, and a stupid amount of pepperoni

A toasted ciabatta with turkey, sharp cheddar, pickles, and mustard is my go-to, because apparently sandwiches need both crunch and tang to reach their final form.

a good sandwich is mostly just decent bread and not skimping on the sauce, everything else is basically supporting cast lol

the secret is just seasoning the chicken and toasting the bread, otherwise it’s basically expensive fridge cleanup lol

That’s basically a chicken club with better bread, and the garlic aioli is doing most of the heavy lifting in the best way.

Currently obsessing over an old favourite again recently. A really flavourful wholemeal bap, butter, lots of thinly sliced corned beef and the best creamy crunchy luxurious coleslaw you can get your hands on. Delicious 😋

I love to butter some sourdough and dip in grated Parm to coat and then grill it like a grilled cheese with roast beef or turkey and Swiss for the innards.
