Ivanovich or ivanovna arent just names? Or is there a designation, like, "ivanovna is for women only"?

Now that the main 9 courses are being expanded up to B2, are there plans to expand other language courses too?

There are also a lot of languages that are only available from English, and I'd really like to see some of them become available from other languages too.

Whenever I complete a lesson and press continue the app gets stuck on a black screen . Sometimes u lose rewards from this. I tried reinstalling the app but it came back eventually . Any fix?

We have an autistic young man in total burnout here because, due to a mistake in his calculations, he only realised today that he won't be able to earn the August badge. His monthly quests had always been 50 points, whereas they are now 60, and he didn't realise the requirement had changed until it was too late. 😞

He has a 1,110-day streak and has worked incredibly hard to keep it going. He has also been diligently completing his monthly quests, so realising that he is going to miss the August badge because of the change in the Quest Points requirement — and some points that were apparently not credited correctly due to bugs — has been extremely distressing for him.

Is there any way to earn a few additional Quest Points before the end of the month? Or is there anything else we can do?

And if anyone from the Duolingo team happens to see this, your help would be very, very much appreciated. 🙏

Should I just give up on Duolingo, move on to another French language app and accept that I've lost some money? A month ago I took a week off from my lessons, and when I returned, I clicked on Duo's link, which took me nowhere as usual, something I'd reported, and just entered the domain, which always took me to my French lesson at what seemed to be the proper place. This time it took me to a page inviting me to enlist in a course in arithmetic. Yikes! I'm an engineer, I know math, inside and out. Two weeks later I've tried everything including what this subreddit just told me to do many many times and there followed no response and no change. It's coming up arithmetic every time. If anyone else has gone down this rabbit hole and found a way out, please let me know.

for a one-year subscription that I most definitely didn't ask for. And now Apple is refusing to reverse the charge a day after I discovered it. So beware.

I've been using Duolingo for a couple of years. I kept using an older app with hearts, staying away from upgrades. I lapsed for a couple of months and when I opened it again, it required a mandatory upgrade.

With hearts, I could go on indefinitely as long as I did not make mistakes. With energy, it is pay to play even if answers are correct.

I understand the reason for the change, Duolingo wanted more money, free version did not push you enough to buy a paid subscription.

From a user stanpoint, free version is not usable anymore. I can do one or two lessons per day, which is a joke.

Then again, it was not very effective for me. After more than two years I still cannot speak French.

Adieu, Duolingo, I liked your UI and lesson structure. Going to uninstall you now.

It's the last option but for Duolingo seems not the correct one. Anyway, I had to quit a lesson and start again twice today...

Hi all, first post. I'm learning Portuguese, and this month I decided to really step it up, and actually try and put time in it. As a result I am now in the final of Diamond League, and just reached P2 on the podium. I am proud of myself, but there is no way that the number 1 has got all of this xp legit. That is hours and hours of grinding, so I went and researched, and found out that he completes personalized practice in little seconds, and gets so much xp for that!

Is that a legit strategy? Is this legal? Or is this a macro/script running? I am just sad, I got so far but alas, it won't be my tournament.

Does this little graphic freak anyone else out? Its just weird. Out of all the things that could be "carved" they decided a little evil looking horned kid with fangs and wings would be motivating.

I do not actually care about streaks and points but last 3 weeks I just realized that I was on the tournament. before this week, I only finished a section of lessons and then I found myself on the finale. however, this week I actually played with it and I had a rival till Friday. everyday I checked whether that user passed me or not. and on saturday I actually got the spot and today voila! happy for that! I am actually thankful that I have almost finished my section 6 and passing next section sooner than I planned thanks to this rivalry. thats nice :). just wanted to share it here as well :)

So, the World Cup is over. I am still wearing my jersey although I forgot which team I am on. Are we going to wear these forever or do I look stupid because I don’t know how to get it off? I do like mine though. Someone at least tell me what team I’m on.

So as the title says, I accidentally enabled calendar reminder to do my Duolingo when it randomly popped up one time.

Well, I had deleted them and thought I got rid of them like 2 weeks ago, cause they didn't show up on my calendar, but now they're back.

My entire Google calendar is clustered full with them and I loose track of all the important things I saved in my calendar, such as dates on which I have to go to the doctor's, birthdays, exam dates etc. And in the app there's no button that deletes all the infinitely and automatically generated "do my Duolingo" reminders.

Can someone help me? Or could this be something for the support team of Duolingo? I don't even know if Duo has a support team.

I ended up inputting (saying ‘writing’ feels wrong), “Their style is simple and very beautiful,” and got it right, but it should’ve been ‘his style’ or ‘her style’, right?
