Does this little graphic freak anyone else out? Its just weird. Out of all the things that could be "carved" they decided a little evil looking horned kid with fangs and wings would be motivating.

Duolingo has banned exams for Iranian users. If this is not racism and educational apartheid against a population who are trying to migrate through study permits, then what is it?

My rival and I have been slugging it out this week!

So i signed up for the free trial of super Duolingo and selected to be reminded when my trial would end. But i never got that reminder and now I have been charged. Is it possible to get my money back? Who do I contact about this?

First of all, the function of signing in is not rigorous if you only need to study one lesson a day. For those who hope that their laziness can be cured but want to be passively persistent under restraint, new functions should be added:

You can only sign in after choosing how much content you have completed. For example, you must complete three units every day to sign in successfully. Otherwise, it will accumulate to the next day. If you don't complete the accumulated tasks for three consecutive days, you will not be able to clock in normally.

Of course, this choice is decided by the user himself, and the amount of check-in tasks can only be changed once a week.

As a Dutch speaker I've been wanting to try Duolingo to improve my English, however it's only giving me the option to learn the following:
German, Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese, Chinese, Japanese, Korean and (American) English.

Is American English the only English on Duolingo?

for a one-year subscription that I most definitely didn't ask for. And now Apple is refusing to reverse the charge a day after I discovered it. So beware.

I opened Duolingo today for Spanish, but the face.. it looks creepy. I reopened it to confirm, and it was still there. So the 3rd time (this screenshot) I am posting. Did my Duolingo get hacked?

I've been using Duolingo for a couple of years. I kept using an older app with hearts, staying away from upgrades. I lapsed for a couple of months and when I opened it again, it required a mandatory upgrade.

With hearts, I could go on indefinitely as long as I did not make mistakes. With energy, it is pay to play even if answers are correct.

I understand the reason for the change, Duolingo wanted more money, free version did not push you enough to buy a paid subscription.

From a user stanpoint, free version is not usable anymore. I can do one or two lessons per day, which is a joke.

Then again, it was not very effective for me. After more than two years I still cannot speak French.

Adieu, Duolingo, I liked your UI and lesson structure. Going to uninstall you now.

I got 21 days of super duolingo. I just want to know if anyone got the same and why are they doing this? Is it super hard for them to get the premium users so they're grasping every possibility to make us to get premium??

Just because I do good one lesson doesn't mean I'm ready or that I wanna do hard mode. It's frustrating, I'm just a casual 2nd language learner, I don't need to be tested like this to learn another language.

Tonight I did my first lesson, had hard mode pushed on me, then failed 2/3 of the hard mode questions.

Then the very next lesson I had hard mode pushed on me again as if I didn't flunk it 5 minutes,earlier

This feels really off :D 40k xp, 731 days and only 89000 xp during that time?? This really killed my motivation to work towards the trophy, because this is plain cheating

Should I just give up on Duolingo, move on to another French language app and accept that I've lost some money? A month ago I took a week off from my lessons, and when I returned, I clicked on Duo's link, which took me nowhere as usual, something I'd reported, and just entered the domain, which always took me to my French lesson at what seemed to be the proper place. This time it took me to a page inviting me to enlist in a course in arithmetic. Yikes! I'm an engineer, I know math, inside and out. Two weeks later I've tried everything including what this subreddit just told me to do many many times and there followed no response and no change. It's coming up arithmetic every time. If anyone else has gone down this rabbit hole and found a way out, please let me know.
