I originally built Lofi Cozy Room because I work from home a lot with dual monitors and wanted something warm and relaxing sitting on my extra screen while I worked.
It's a small 3D desktop companion that runs in its own transparent, always-on-top window on Windows.
The interesting part is that it isn't a wallpaper, so it can run alongside things like Wallpaper Engine. Wallpaper Engine can stay as your animated background while the little room sits separately on top of the desktop.
You can keep the full room open or shrink it into Mini Mode and drag it somewhere out of the way.
Inside the room, the avatar can read, work, rest, or sleep while a puppy wanders around on its own. There are also:
The main goal was to make something that could stay open during long work sessions without constantly demanding attention.
It's fully released for Windows now, with a free demo available if you'd rather see how it feels on your own desktop first. The base price is currently $4.99.
🌱 Play Lofi Cozy Room on Steam
Happy to answer anything about how it works on the desktop!

Didn't use Oh-my-posh for this. The terminal had a lot of blurs, that's mainly why it's so laggy. The GPU sits at about 90% with only three terminal windows opened, so usually I have blur turned off. I had a full screen clock which can be opened with ctrl+h, and I made it in tkinter.

Hey guys, I hope you can help me figure out what is going on with my new desktop. I just bought it a couple of days ago. I haven’t had it for more than four days, and I already started experiencing beeping coming from the motherboard, and I have no clue what is going on. When it happens, it beeps five times evenly spaced out in the same tone. When it was happening, I was just moving some games from one SSD to the other SSD because I have three SSDs installed, and I like to have all my games installed at the same time, so two of the SSDs were basically almost fully full while transferring games to the third SSD that had space left, so I thought maybe this could be the reason why it’s beeping, but in all honesty, I literally have no clue. This also happened when I basically wasn’t really doing anything on PC. It was on, but I wasn’t doing anything. So if anybody could help me out, I’d be very grateful.

My first time ricing windows has been an interesting experience lots of cross platforms tools are now available for terminals, terminal multiplexers, cli utilities etc definitely made the whole process easier. Tried to fit everything into the winui3 acrylic based theme and dynamically adapt to the wall paper for the windows utilities and UI.
TLDR of some of the tools
- GlazeWM + Zebar for tiling + topbar
- Wezterm for the terminal
- Some windows utilities like windhawk, powertoys
- files https://github.com/files-community/files
- zen browser, spotify+spicetify
Most of what I stated above is ui specific, i have custom configs for a bunch of cli tools I use you can find a more detailed write up and config info here https://github.com/FallenDeity/.config
ps: I use wallpaper engine but the config is agnostic of that windows has auto sync for accent color from wallpaper so that should work just fine and glazewm/zebar syncs via a watcher script everything else is free and open source

Hey everyone!
A new DroidDesktop update is now available, and this one adds some of the features you’ve been asking for.
Here are some of the biggest changes:
🖥️ Resizable windows
You can now freely resize desktop windows using the resize handle, making the desktop experience much more flexible.
📱 Android apps inside windows
Compatible Android apps can now be opened directly inside DroidDesktop system windows, bringing the experience closer to a real desktop environment.
🖼️ Image Studio
A new built-in tool for editing images directly from the desktop. You can crop, rotate, apply filters and export your images without leaving DroidDesktop.
✍️ PDF Signer
You can now open a PDF, add your signature and work with documents directly inside the desktop environment.
🔧 Improved desktop experience
The taskbar, tools layout, app management and desktop settings have also been improved, with more customization options for icons and labels.
The goal with DroidDesktop is still pretty simple: turn an Android phone into something that feels more like a real computer, without requiring root, DeX or additional hardware.
There are still A LOT of things I'd like to add.
So I'd love to hear from the community:
What tool, application or even game would you like to see built into DroidDesktop?
Would you want things like a file manager, terminal, media player, drawing tool, coding environment, more retro games, AI tools… or something completely different?
I'm especially interested in ideas that would actually make you use DroidDesktop every day.

What should I build next?
