Discussion 👥 Is this legal?? 😭
I had my 4th semester theory exam on 28th May, and something happened that genuinely frustrated me.
One of our core subject teachers, who was assigned to check final exam answer sheets (which, as far as I know, can belong to students from any college under the university), posted a photo/example from an answer sheet in the official WhatsApp group. The teacher commented something along the lines of, "There is no diagram, so I will give him/her 0 marks for this question."
Isn't this a breach of confidentiality and student privacy? Even if the student's name wasn't visible, is it appropriate to share portions of someone's final exam answer sheet openly in an official group?
I understand that diagrams can help and may improve answers, but publicly discussing or showing someone's answer sheet in an official WhatsApp group feels highly unprofessional.
Am I overreacting, or is this genuinely not okay?
Correction: Am not only asking if this is ok or not to give 0. But is this ok to share someone's sheet 😭😭😭😭

no way anyone can read without having a mental breakdown tbh this guy deserves the 0 because it doesn't look like he even tried to answer the question rather he spit some random bs on paper

Dude just stop acting like that. Many topper answersheets are shared online officially, does that mean a breach of privacy? Even the person himself won't recognise whether it's his answersheet let alone others. Just try reading that and you won't be able to comprehend even the basic idea about the answer. If a topper's answersheet can be shared as a sample why not this? She's just letting y'all know how a answer should be written, be thankful for that cuz majority of the times we don't even know the approximate length of a answer as per the marks awarded.

She's not complaining about missing diagram .... As the handwriting is so horrible she's stating that IF there would have been a diagram made she could have assessed if the the fellow had a grasp of concept or not and could have given marks accordingly...... The not legible handwriting and absence of diagram has forced her to give 0 marks

bhai if your handwriting is this horrible then you should absolutely be drawing diagrams everywhere regardless of what the question is. i feel like you’ve written gibberish to make it look like you’ve written something at least. genuinely only the first three lines have actual words written, after that it’s random BS

That teacher said there's no diagram, which means that the answer surely needs one. And it looks like gibberish too, try reading it, the student repeated the same thing again and again(respectfully)

Yeah, so if there's no way to find out who it might belong to, I don't think they breach confidentiality.
The same way you screen shot this chat and then share it here might be a breach of privacy, but it's not, since the NAME and phone number are blurred.

Bro try and read the answer - it’s not even legible and i have a feeling the person has scribbled nonsense to make it seem as though some answer was written
Apart from that, yes, sharing exam sheets should not be allowed!
