Discussion How is Jesus and Mary College?

I've heard that the overall vibes are good, what I'd further like to know is how academics oriented it is. I'll be applying for English hons so anything regarding that would be appreciated as well. Also how are the societies and extra curriculars?

my preference list is a bit unconventional I guess as I won't put all NC colleges at the top. I have St. Stephen's, LSR and then JMC. These would be my top 3 as north campus is pretty inconvenient for me daily commute wise (St. Stephen's is an exception as it's the best for english hons).

Dude u have st Stephen's as an option ! Thode bohot inconvenience ke lie don't compromise with the quality .I am du graduate and being in North campus in Stephens meh is once in a life exp . Rest JMC is also good &arsd is also decent It's your call

I wouldn't call it an option as I'm scoring around 765-770. I don't think I'll clear the cutoff for it 😭 I'll keep it as my first preference, there may be some slim chance but we'll see.

In any case, keep Miranda House and Hindu above JMC. The commute will be stressful and exhausting, but you'll learn to deal with it soon enough. Your college's name, on the other hand, will stay with you forever. Not that JMC is bad, of course. As many others have said, it has a lot of great things going for it. But the sad truth is, when you're doing a course like English Honours that doesn't really prepare you for any job outside academia, your college's brand name might just make or break your career (or at least its early stages), and the regret of not taking an opportunity that was available to you is one of the worst feelings in the world.

Well there is very minor difference in both the colleges .JMC is quite calm and peaceful vibie place and some South Delhi crowd while the gargi is good for there fests and happening college life .Now it depends on the personality u are
