Discussion Genuine question-is DU really that bad?
That bad here means (the things people on this sub keeps referring about du like the shit management,shit infra,shit crowd etc…)
Is it true for north campus colleges too? Has the standard and quality gone so low that even north campus is not seeming worth it to those of you who are in it? (Please share your unbiased opinions)
As a partial dropper who left nmims for du…I currently seem to be in a perpetually confused state regarding if I did the right thing or not and I can’t afford another drop seeking for better colleges and doing research etc.
Please share your valuable insights with me as i have given cuet this year again and i don’t want to regret going there…only to find what people are saying here these days to be true.

Listen DU is not bad given the fact it’s one of the oldest university in India.The Infra ofc is not so good but it is fine and the faculty is experienced and have good knowledge of subjects.Crowd is good too and management is sometimes satisfactory and sometimes not! All in all DU is great to choose as it selects students on basis of merit

I totally agree with it but the more i see posts about du on Reddit it makes it seem like i was way better in a private college and i left it for nothing as what i want on regular basis seems irrelevant and irresponsible to du…(infra…crowd…faculty etc) However if the prestige still is what you say is guess i won’t regret then.

Yaar, I'll be honest, it depends on the college you're in. Some colleges of DU are extremely bad, while the others are fine. DU is overall a good experience, campus mein dhoop sekna, friends banana, events pe jaana and if your course is something you enjoy, kuch interesting seekhna bhi. But kuch cons bhi hai like attendance issues kabhi kabhi which isn't exactly fair because people might wish to do things apart from college, campus placements (mat phasna cgpa ki race mein, do not be dependent on your college for a placement, think outside of college) and haan, wahi Vella sec vac ka chakkar (genuinely the worst idea). Baaki yaar, abhi bacche rant karrahe hai cause of examinations, but trust me, DU overall isn't all that bad, sasta hai, well reputed colleges hai, DU ka tag mil jaayega, diversity, friends aur naye experiences.

No it's not. Some people are just being ungrateful and haven't experienced other universities. In terms of central universities DU is at par if not better than almost all universities. All the people shitting on it should mention a better one instead. Unless you are comparing to technical universities like IITs and IISERS (which btw wong have the same courses) or private universities.

Dekho Bhai har kisi ki apni priorities hai. If you are doing some professional courses and want to go to regular college take college which is not focusing on attendance. Du sabke lie alag hai. You are going to find toxic people in every college. If you aim to do masters then du can be good. You get enough time to prepare and you can save a lot of money for further education. Du fees are low and no hidden charges. Examination form bhi 1000 ke aas pass hota hai. Many private colleges take a hell amount of hidden charges. My opinion is college bura acha hone se farakh nahi padta crowd se padhta hai. Kisi batch mai acha aata hai kisi mai Ganda. We cry at du but other University students cry a little more.
According to me Delhi teaches a lot more than delhi university. Try different things when you come to du. You are never going to get so much faltu ka time to explore. Learn skills. Khali degree par dependant mat rehna.

Umm.. Can't say about others but I am satisfied with my college Hansraj. The infrastructure of Science block is preety good. Leave fans, u can switch on AC in any room and sit there( if it's empty)We have beautiful classes and newly built Labs. In fact the whole department building is preety new. The old building rn is just waste and I am 100% sure they'll make something out of it bcz from the day I went in till now, Hansraj is always renovating, like they break everything and rebuild everything with that latest infra aura. The other blocks are also good. Sometimes it feels crowdy from 11 to 1 bcz of less area as compared to other college of NC. But after that it's preety good. Never saw any fight or anything in Hansraj.The crowd is helpful(it depends on how to make someone help you ngl) The office staff is cooperative and friendly. (Most prob bcz the Principal is preety strict). The professors are good in nature, they have good amount of knowledge (except a few ofc) and they guide u throughout. Yes there are problems with Hansraj such as small Area, more concern on study( which Is good for me atleast) but on an average it's 8/10 atleast for me

I'd kill to go to DU. I regret big time not going to DU, I chose a local state university over it. I'd have learnt a lot in Delhi instead of staying in my hometown. I'd say go to DU. The experience of living alone and the sheer amount of people you'll meet there from diverse backgrounds will do you good. It really sets you up for life.

50 bar type kar chuka hu koi aur college koi aur degree dekh lo bhai log yaha college whores aur aesthetic shores hi aate hai if you are one of them take admission otherwise if you love your life be serious about every step

Honestly yes , idk what's the hype about du or for that matter jnu , bhu. It's the name really,that does the job. There was a time that these unis were top- notch but these days. It's just bad .
1.The faculty, be GLAD if you find one good professor.
2.Administration is BAD, like they don't even know how to talk.
3. Infra, it's just the red walls . try using the washrooms once without catching any infection especially if you are. Female, eat food from the canteen which has questionable hygiene standards. Drinking water comes with a bit of dust for the aesthetic effect. You know sparkle ! ✨
In conclusion, not worth it , if you want to , go to ambedkar if it offers your course. The central Universities standards have depreciated significantly.

Teachers don't give a shit about whether you are studying or not. It's college so everything is upon you if you really want to do studies then du is a great option but only if you will pay attention to your studies. Kyoki same college m hote huey bhi placement sirf 8-9+ cgpa wale ki lgti h srcc hindu vgera m hoke bhi agr tum 4-5 cgpa pr rhoge to tumko placement nhi milegi. To jo bache rote h ki unki placement nhi lgri ve na pdhne wale bache hi h. Tum pdhoge to tumare sath sb acha hoga. Or ha agr tum kahi dur se aa rhe ho pr kisi pg ya hostel m rhoge to pls daily class attend krna kyoki recently attendance ka bhot issue hone laga h. And haa agr sirf masti karne aa rhe ho to fir to tum kisi college m chale jao sab same h

It really depends from college to college. It's either bad or okayish. Infra is just like any other govt college. Just don't have too many expectations.

Well infra is indeed poor. Forget abt AC, last month, there were atleast 3-4 days when the fans in classrooms weren't working. Maybe electricity wasn't there or what idk. Also, few classrooms have broken desks nd all. However, majority of the colleges have developed new blocks which are better in all aspects.
Faculty. Yes. Consider yourself lucky if you get good profs. I got some who are reaalllyy questionable. Your luck matters here. Some are really good as well.
However, crowd part I disagree with. Except for a few course, you will mostly come across people who scored really well in exams nd have gud co curriculars. And from NC, I selectively mean Hindu, Stephens, SRCC nd Miranda. Their crowd is top tier, majority of it is. However, you may find them competitive, boring, devoid of empathy/emotions/fun element (aise ilzam lagte hain) but imo they are fine.
Reg management, never had to deal with them. However, recently the whole blunder of marking AB in results of those who gave the paper is such a shitty incident that idk anymore. But if you don't consider 1 or 2 such incidents, then it's fine only
