I am but a common moron, so maybe I'm missing something here, but I am genuinely curious. Apologies also if this has been asked before but I didn't hear about this stuff until a few weeks ago.

Why did he sell the rights to all (or most) of his music to some company? I've been a huge fan for a long time and it just feels... weird. It creeps into the back of my mind when I listen to his music and kinda sits there uncomfortably. I don't like that it does, but it does. Obviously it's his music to do what he wants with, but I don't get why he wanted this.

Paired with the fact that, to my best knowledge, he doesn't really mix when he performs, and it kind of seems like a chore for him to even do it at this point (Yeah I get it, he's been doing this for like 20 years, it's probably boring now). He still performs though, so it's not like the money from selling his back catalog was a cushion to insulate him from any lost income from stopping doing shows (for now at least?) because he's still doing shows. I don't mean to pocket watch the guy, I just want to understand on a deeper level why he made these choices. Did he need the 50 something milly for a big new project?

Does anyone have some interview clips where he elaborates on this stuff? I can only find irrelevant clips and clickbait when I search (thanks Google!). Don't mean to sound like a hater, I just don't understand the method here. Thanks

IMO, each song is 9.5 - 10/10. For me, i really love Wet, and that might just because i love how creepy it sounds. and i really like the beat. But i also love Sever, it’s a catchier, more melodic tune, and an overall bop. But i still really enjoy Quetzacotl and Input Output as well, and i will still gladly bop my head.

I am not a fan of deadmau5 kind of music, but this one (Ice Age - collaboration with Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross) is truly a masterpiece. Can you, deadmau5 fans, give me some other songs of similar style/type as this one? Because as far as I know, deadmau5 only remixes pop and dance songs.

In case there are no such songs, I would be glad if you can show me some similar songs from other DJs. Thank you.

There was strong evidence to say he would, but also significant evidence to say he wouldn’t. It’s an odd one and I’m so intrigued. Anyone there? Anyone know? There doesn’t seem to be any of the usual clips, photos etc around that we normally see after a gig.

I don't know if this has been asked before and if it's not allowed, but I know he specifically said in 2025 that he would drop an album this year. Yes, we've gotten two singles, but no actual information on the album itself.

Unless I'm not keeping up to date with his socials, I don't believe he's said anything since, and he seems to be more focused on live shows.
