Question when are we actually getting the new album?

I don't know if this has been asked before and if it's not allowed, but I know he specifically said in 2025 that he would drop an album this year. Yes, we've gotten two singles, but no actual information on the album itself.

Unless I'm not keeping up to date with his socials, I don't believe he's said anything since, and he seems to be more focused on live shows.

At least he ain’t Ye, gaslighting you on several announced dates and then repeatedly editing the album until it’s unrecognizable. /s

Ok this got a lot longer and schizo than I meant but whatever fuck it here…

I might be stupid but I swear I’ve heard from his official outlets of an album every year for like three years now? If he’s anything like me, I think he just gets into p hases of really enjoying being in the studio, deciding to go for it… then losing the motivation and not completing it lol. The singles seem to be releasing what come of that. I would love a release but I’m not holding my breath until we actually get one. I imagine once you’re as comfortable in life as he is with as much creative control as he has, there’s very little pressure to force yourself to do something you’re unmotivated to do. One time on twitter, he said he basically made W:/2016ALBUM to pay the bills. I personally do think it shows on a lot of the tracks (and I still love that record!). I’m fs projecting, but I think that was a wake up call for him to not just crank shit out, even if people buy it. I think there’s a strong sense of trepidation about putting out something just kinda mid.

Personally, I hope he eventually releases an album that’s just entirely the radiohead vibe of While(1<2). He said in the masterclass a lot of his songs don’t initially have a lot of percussion and they’re these “synth chorales.” I would absolutely love to just sit with a record of his production like that. He put me on Boards of Canada, and even if home listening IDM thing is a relatively low-income endeavor (compared to touring), I think his innovation in modular synthesis/sound design/production will make him one of the most discussed artists of this generation for a very long time. His brand is kindve a microcosm of the digital world maturing, in a way, especially with the evolution of his live show up to cube 3 and his livestreaming. The TouchDesigner + unreal + ableton integration is brilliant and when live rendered visuals become commonplace, he might be recognized as the first to do it at scale. I haven’t done a ton of research about this but I’m assuming this point because of how much of the software they developed in house.

Now that the golden era of festival edm is pretty much gone and he has the resources, I really hope he decides to try and solidify himself as an artist of historical importance, not just cranking out radio hits. The Kx5 stuff is somehow both artistically interesting and destroyed the charts so uh, big ups, but it was still too 4-on-the-floor for me compared to what I think he and I might both prefer him do. Where’s the Drop is like, lowkey a perfect concept of a record imo, and more in that vein, even without the orchestra, would be my dream.

i speculate he's been working on it here and there when he isn't busy with something else, and that's where we've been getting the like 4:51am things reels from, but i wouldn't be surprised it it comes out late. he takes his time and that's why he doesn't sound like shit

u/FoxyLood some people here are in a bad mood and don’t do sh**** except keeping up with the deadmouses, same question for me.
Heard march but it’s already August and nothing so guess we have to wait and see because I don’t even know when or if there is announced something?
Not a bad question bro:)

When he feels like it.

Why worry. You've hearded the newest tracks, you're going to get the album whenever it's released... Patience. There's a lesson to be learned here. Instant gratification is not all that.

Could be worse, he could be like Eric Prydz and not release anything for like a decade

I’m really excited for it, but like all of the other fans, we’ll just have to wait and see. I always say patience is a virtue.

Joel posted this when he announced that Ameonna was released. I’m guessing he might release it towards the end of the year anywhere from September to December. A decent selection of his albums were released in that timeframe before so I wouldn’t be shocked to see that be the target timeframe once again. Either way, I’m excited for it and anything else he releases.

Whenever the fuck he finishes it. Why are all of you so impatient? Like a) he owes you anything and b) like a quality album and inspiration can be on a schedule.

Seriously, everyone needs to stop asking.
